Well, the room was quiet and we slept a good 8 hours for 290 Euros (for the two rooms). Yes, they don't even give you 24 hours for that amount! I found the sheets, towels, bathroom clean. However, it looked like the flours and counters (including the kettle) could use a good scrub and extra daily cleaning. I expected more from a Dutch facility.
Please remember, if you are not from EU, you are not allowed to leave the airport.
This hotel is the only option. Stayed here in December, 2020.
This hotel was highly in demand because of being the only option at the airport for Non- EU citizens. I highly recommend to book this hotel in advance if you are passing through the airport. I had not booked in advance and I had to wait till 2300 ( had arrived at 1900 that evening) for some canceled bookings ( no show when no more flights due to arrive for that night) to get a room.
Positives
1. The front desk was very polite, friendly, efficient. Was also some kind of manager and took pity on my situation and gave me the room.
2. The room did what it was supposed to do. Got a very good night sleep.
3. The shower was very hot and strong pressure.
4. The internet was very good.
5. The heating was not too hot and could be adjusted.
6. The room looked quite clean.
7. Very easy to wake up and quicky catch flight in the morning.
Negatives
1. At last moment booking – walking to the hotel with no reservation, I had to pay a lot. Almost 200 US $ for a 10 hour stay.
2. The rooms are not noise free from neighbors talking in alleyways or opening/closing the rooms.
3. Bough a coca cola at 2300 hours when I arrived, and it cost almost 10 USD for 1 can.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for the purpose this hotel is there – 1 night stay in transit.

We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who recognised the stress and anguish we were facing, she advised they had one room left and although it wasn't big enough, she was happy for us to use it to take the children out of the crowds and drama outside. She was supportive and made sure we were as comfortable as we could be, we are incredibly grateful.
The room was small, but well equipped and we all managed a good sleep. The place was very clean and quiet. It was nothing more than it needed to be.
We didn't catch the lady's name last Sunday around 3pm, but she made a horrible situation easier. Thank you.
The room was so frigid and when I asked the front desk lady to see if we were missing something about the adjustment of the thermometer she walked to the room (20 or so steps) and made a little adjustment which did not change anything.
After desperately trying to fall asleep (with our overcoats) without success for a couple of hours or so on that very uncomfortable twin mattresses (brought together) under the quilt and a funny short blanket I walked to the front desk again to see if anything could be done to heat up the room. Good news the lady was changed and another receptionist was on duty place now. The same drill, she walked to the room after a while and did some adjustments to that funny outdated thermostat herself only (as we soon realized) the room was now even colder.
Now I didn't have the energy to get up and walk to the front desk again to ask for an additional blanket or something since I had already started coughing and sneezing but I heard the sound of my wife now heading to the front desk and sure enough, the new lady from the front desk comes with an additional funny small blanket in her hand and tells she doesn't know how that AC works.
At the end of that endless cold night, my wife and I left the hotel sneezing and coughing a perfect "strong cold" caught on that cursed "Mercure Schipol Airport hotel".
The bed was very comfortable, the room immaculate, the water pressure in the shower is amazing, and the amenities (coffee, tea, water) are appreciated and complimentary. The soundproofing is excellent - I couldn't hear another soul in the place and every room was booked!
Special thanks to Yara who, upon hearing that we were in need of a room, suggested that we return after 20:00 to inquire about availability. Luckily we were able to secure a room thanks to her excellent advice.
2: The thermostat did not work: it did nothing and the room was freezing: the thermostat "regulator" was nothing more than a cosmetic fixture
3: It was supposed to have a coffee maker: the electric socket also apparently did not work so there was no coffee maker in the room.
In short, this was the most I have ever paid for a hotel room and the worst lack of functionality.
I could have got a room at the Ibis for 4 times less and 4 times more utilities.
Besides a bed, I got nothing but disappointment and excuses.
