We were caught in the Schiphol Airport with two kids for 23 hours. Because of COVID 19 and because we were not European citizens, we were not allowed out of the terminal. We managed to find a room at the Mecure. The receptionist was very nice, but bound by policy. We had hoped to book only one room for my wife and two daughters (I would sleep in the terminal). But policy stated that only two were allowed in a room and there was no "bending the rules". That meant that we had to spend another 145 Euros so that my 13 year old daughter could have a room...for less that 12 hours. I really dislike when policy supersedes hospitality. . . specially in a hotel.

Well, the room was quiet and we slept a good 8 hours for 290 Euros (for the two rooms). Yes, they don't even give you 24 hours for that amount! I found the sheets, towels, bathroom clean. However, it looked like the flours and counters (including the kettle) could use a good scrub and extra daily cleaning. I expected more from a Dutch facility.

We booked a night at the airport hotel to avoid leaving the airport and getting stuck in 14 days of quarantine. The hotel room had everything you could need when stuck at the airport: comfy beds, a big shower, toiletries, WiFi, TV, and free coffee, tea, and bottled water. We got a good night of sleep in here before our next flight the following morning:)

Wife and i stayed at Mercure Hotel Schlphol Terminal on 3/11/2020 after our flight from Bologna and prior to our flight to DTW on 3/12/2020. This was during Coronavirus problem and we really didn't want to go out of terminal unless we had to. We thought we would be sleeping in the terminal waiting room but were happy to see both this hotel and Yodel were in terminal. We checked both out but Yodel stated that we could be bothered by the 5 AM construction. Price wise, the Mercure was little more expensive but not much. Interesting was that when booking it was from 8PM otherwise for every extra hour it was 25 Euro - same as with Yodel. We paid at the desk and then went to get something to eat in airport. When we arrived back about 7:45PM, they allowed us to check in. The room was compact but the WiFi worked - they suggested airport WiFi maybe better to use than theirs. We had plenty of room and bathroom was nice. This is short term hotel for air travelers and probably exceeded our expectations. Staff were very friendly and would give wake up call for flight.

Had a pleasant stay here and got a good night rest at my long stay at the airport.

Please remember, if you are not from EU, you are not allowed to leave the airport.

This hotel is the only option. Stayed here in December, 2020.

This hotel was highly in demand because of being the only option at the airport for Non- EU citizens. I highly recommend to book this hotel in advance if you are passing through the airport. I had not booked in advance and I had to wait till 2300 ( had arrived at 1900 that evening) for some canceled bookings ( no show when no more flights due to arrive for that night) to get a room.

Positives

1. The front desk was very polite, friendly, efficient. Was also some kind of manager and took pity on my situation and gave me the room.
2. The room did what it was supposed to do. Got a very good night sleep.
3. The shower was very hot and strong pressure.
4. The internet was very good.
5. The heating was not too hot and could be adjusted.
6. The room looked quite clean.
7. Very easy to wake up and quicky catch flight in the morning.

Negatives

1. At last moment booking – walking to the hotel with no reservation, I had to pay a lot. Almost 200 US $ for a 10 hour stay.

2. The rooms are not noise free from neighbors talking in alleyways or opening/closing the rooms.

3. Bough a coca cola at 2300 hours when I arrived, and it cost almost 10 USD for 1 can.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for the purpose this hotel is there – 1 night stay in transit.

Booked via accor website, price confirmed by Accor via e-mail. Despite showing the Accor confirmation e-mail to the receptionist she still insisted I pay an extra 30 Euros before she would give me the room key. Rooms are box like with no windows, noisy all night. I’ll never stay here again.

We found ourselves completely stranded in the airport with 2 very young children, following the KLM/Schiphol mess.

We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who recognised the stress and anguish we were facing, she advised they had one room left and although it wasn't big enough, she was happy for us to use it to take the children out of the crowds and drama outside. She was supportive and made sure we were as comfortable as we could be, we are incredibly grateful.

The room was small, but well equipped and we all managed a good sleep. The place was very clean and quiet. It was nothing more than it needed to be.

We didn't catch the lady's name last Sunday around 3pm, but she made a horrible situation easier. Thank you.

This was our 2nd stay in this airport hotel. The first time was a few years ago and a pleasant one, but "my God!" since then this "Accor" Hotel was obviously turned into something like a remote roadside cheap "no star" motel.

The room was so frigid and when I asked the front desk lady to see if we were missing something about the adjustment of the thermometer she walked to the room (20 or so steps) and made a little adjustment which did not change anything.

After desperately trying to fall asleep (with our overcoats) without success for a couple of hours or so on that very uncomfortable twin mattresses (brought together) under the quilt and a funny short blanket I walked to the front desk again to see if anything could be done to heat up the room. Good news the lady was changed and another receptionist was on duty place now. The same drill, she walked to the room after a while and did some adjustments to that funny outdated thermostat herself only (as we soon realized) the room was now even colder.
Now I didn't have the energy to get up and walk to the front desk again to ask for an additional blanket or something since I had already started coughing and sneezing but I heard the sound of my wife now heading to the front desk and sure enough, the new lady from the front desk comes with an additional funny small blanket in her hand and tells she doesn't know how that AC works.

At the end of that endless cold night, my wife and I left the hotel sneezing and coughing a perfect "strong cold" caught on that cursed "Mercure Schipol Airport hotel".

I'll be clear, I didn't WANT to stay at the Mercure. However, if you find yourself stuck in Schipol airport for whatever reason, or just need a place that's more comfortable than an airport bench to spend the night, this little hotel is perfect.
The bed was very comfortable, the room immaculate, the water pressure in the shower is amazing, and the amenities (coffee, tea, water) are appreciated and complimentary. The soundproofing is excellent - I couldn't hear another soul in the place and every room was booked!
Special thanks to Yara who, upon hearing that we were in need of a room, suggested that we return after 20:00 to inquire about availability. Luckily we were able to secure a room thanks to her excellent advice.

1: it was supposed to have WiFi: the WiFi didn't work: in fact the WiFi is apparently nothing more than the free airport WiFi
2: The thermostat did not work: it did nothing and the room was freezing: the thermostat "regulator" was nothing more than a cosmetic fixture
3: It was supposed to have a coffee maker: the electric socket also apparently did not work so there was no coffee maker in the room.
In short, this was the most I have ever paid for a hotel room and the worst lack of functionality.
I could have got a room at the Ibis for 4 times less and 4 times more utilities.
Besides a bed, I got nothing but disappointment and excuses.

My room was somewhat run-down and not particularly clean. I did not feel very comfortable in the room. So, compared with a 'normal' hotel room, I found it to bea very poor option. Compared with sleeping on a bench in the (rather cold) terminal building, I consider it a viable option. Due to late arrival and early departure, it was ok for me (I also wanted to avoid re-clearing security). If I had to do it again, I would try to have a longer layover and choose one of the hotels outside the terminal.
