I recently stayed at the Skyway Motel in Bracebridge.
Harry was very eager to please and very helpful.
Room was basic and clean!
Room came with small fridge and microwave
and a flat panel tv.
If there was one thing i wished the room had it would be a coffee maker, it is always nice to get up in the morning and have a coffee without having to leave your room to get it.
There is no internet but that didnt bother me as i have a BB so I am always connected.
The motel is right along Hwy 11 between Gravenhurst and Bracebridge on the northbound side so if you need a place to stay on a long journey to get a nights sleep on route this is a great place to stay without breaking the bank.
There is a resturant on site as well as a gas station I didn't eat at the resturant.
Thanks Harry keep up the good work!

My daughter and I were our way to North Bay, when we stopped here at 3:00 a.m. for a bathroom break. We were pleasantly surprised to find a good selection of homemade food at reasonable prices, so we were able to get a healthy AND tasty snack.

The Skyway Motel is operated by a lovely local family in Bracebridge. It is conveniently located right off of Hwy 11 beside the Petro Canada and a lovely restaurant that serves a great breakfast. We discovered the Skyway motel about four years ago and have visited several times since. We travel with many children and sometimes other families. We have three children and Harry and Rosie work very hard to ensure we feel welcomed and comfortable every time we visit. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are clean, the TV gets treehouse, there is a microwave and a refrigerator and everything is always very, very clean. There is a small road right behind the motel that gets you directly into downtown and to santas village within five to ten minutes, perfect when you are rushing to get the kids over to santas village for breakfast. No need to get back on to hwy 11, it's increibly convenient. The price is just right and Harry has brought in a small extra bed so we can all sleep comfortably. Most places do not allow five to a room, forcing you to book two rooms. The Skyway motel is very accommodating. Harry and Rosie are always aiming to please and we always feel so welcomed when we return. I completely recommend this place for anyone travelling with kids or anyone with needs of any sort, it is very comfortable and easy to get in and out of.

We had to pull over due to our daughter getting a stomach bug and this was the first place we found with rooms. Bathroom was very old. There was a bloodstain on the outer edge of tub. Beds were so hard it felt like mattresses we're hollow. Thank god we were exhausted or none of us would have slept. Not even a kids channel on the tv.

Most arrogant disrespectful people we have run in to!!! Made errors in reservations and would not accommodate. When our displeasure was voiced, threw drivers licence, told us to get out and gestured obscenities!

Clean enough (as far as the rooms go inside, didn't smell too bad) but a DUMP!
At check in, owner tells me he has to charge me more if I use a credit card that collects points, because those cost him more!!!!!!!!! (Never heard THAT before.....)
Screen doors have not been cleaned of road dirt and dead bugs in decades.
In the room, the rug was very visibly stained in blotches all over - would not want bare feet walking inside your room!!
Beds hard and uncomfortable.
A lot of highway noise but that you could live with.
Water pressure was OK in the evening, NONE in the morning whatsoever, just a trickle, could not even brush our teeth!!!! Toilet would not flush!!!!!
Cable TV something out of the eighties; 10 channels, very bad picture.
All other motels I researched online (were already booked) in the region were "off season" rates - this dump was still in full season. We were fooled by on-line reservations. After our stay we have seen many much nicer, small motels right in Gravenhurst and one we stopped at was off-season rate of $75.00, while we paid $109.00 + tax for this dump, a good ways out of Gravenhurst, on the side of HWY 11 where you have to go out of your way just to turn around.
The place is making a killing on storing all kinds of hydro trucks and other heavy equipment around the back and the front of the motel parking lot, but it would appear they are too cheap to put any money back into the rooms. I think they count on the other motels that are on-line to fill up and they get the spill-over. DON'T be fooled by checking only online! Search the Yellow Pages 'cause there are many nice little ma & pa operations NOT online!
Muskoka Chamber Of Commercial suggested this place when I called them after finding the others booked online. (I should have known why this was not booked up!)
They told me this place had a good restaurant too; FORGET it! My veal cutlet turned out to be PORK and it was so tough it could not be sawed with a stake knife. Can not believe they would serve pork while the menu states "veal"! What if I was allergic to pork?! The waitress was very nice though, apologetic and took it off our check.......

I was in Bracebridge on business and was trying to travel economically for my company.
I chose this place largely for the price, combined with the reviews. The price was great, but I feel a bit misled by the general tone of reviewers.
I think the owners are great people trying hard to make lemons out of lemonade (but it's going to take a lot more sugar to get the sour taste out of my mouth). It was not as clean as people are suggesting, lots of rust and peeling paint in the washroom. Not sure where people are getting this "comfortable bed" idea (mine wasn't that great. I could have gotten a lot more value for a few bucks more elsewhere in the region.
