This was a decent hotel and a reasonable rate and polite staff. It is fairly new and it is clean and well kept. The 'vibe' is somewhat 'sterile,' which isn't a bad thing. The rooms are a decent size, with a new (to me) layout- two Queen beds on one end, with a 5' partition wall that gives a feeling of separation form the sleeping area.

Out room faced the highway but we could not hear (or notice) and traffic sounds.

The continental breakfast was underwhelming so we ate leftover pizza for breakfast.

Since we have 2 young kids decided not to drive 12+ hours in one day. So stayed here overnight to break up the drive.

The good:
New hotel
Comfy beds
Modern looking
Good size, stayed in a 2 queen studio
Kinda clean
Some staffs were nice
Hand Sanitizers placed in high touch area
Stayed on the 3rd floor facing highway 5, was quiet except for train noise

The bad:
Wife found a worm on bathroom counter
My younger daughter found chocolate chips on the carpet
HVAC was horrible. You either have the heat blasting or qc blasting
Place was slap on in a hurry, can tell from the poor workmanship
Breakfast only serve till 9am on weekends, selection was bare. Oh well but it’s free.
Pool was close due to covid? However we were in Kamloops and Vancouver the week prior and their pools were open with limited capacity.
We requested a crib. Walked into room no crib set up nor one to be seen. Maybe covid as an excuse? But other BC hotels we stayed at had a crib/playpen set up prior to our arrival.

In my opinion this hotel has great potential, if they can pay attention to the minor details. Based on the things I saw, if it wasn’t for being a new hotel I don’t think I would of stayed here.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room that does not face highway 5, can hear the train at 3:30am

This hotel is an easy stop on the highway. The room with a sofa bed works well for a family of five (sofa bed is a single bed). Beds were comfy, room was clean. End of what was good. Pillows were awful. Pool was cold and water slide is only open from 6-7:30 pm, even though the pool is open 6 am - 10 pm. I was not told about water slide hours when I called to ask about pool hours before booking. They say water slide hours are for safety. I don’t understand how cramming everyone in an hour and half promotes safety especially during COVID. Breakfast was included and was okay - cereal, green bananas, apples, toast, bagels, English muffins, toaster waffles, processed hard boil eggs in a sealed package, one flavour of yoghurt, etc.

Hotel's Favourite
As a Brit travelling in North America I have consistently found Comfort Inns / Comfort Suites to offer exceptional value for money, and as such I consider them my current favourite ‘budget’ brand. The Valemount hotel is among the best experiences I’ve had yet.

On arrival the lobby area was typically modern and inviting, and our checkin agent helpful and welcoming. Our room on the top floor faced the Highway but there was no excessive noise and pleasant mountain views. The room itself was exceptionally spacious, modern and comfortable. I really couldn’t fault it.

Although I didn’t use the pool, one unusual facility at this hotel is a golf simulator which guests can book free of charge in hour-long slots. As a novice golfer it was great having the whole facility to myself for an hour to work on my swing before retiring for the night. Other hotels take note, I’d stay here again for this alone!

A basic breakfast is included in the price of the room. The mini buffet included waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit juice etc. plus a few cooked items. It wasn’t busy and was adequate for our needs. We were recommended the Moose pub opposite for dinner. It’s popular with locals and does get busy - we did have to wait a bit, but felt it was well worth it.

Due to an avalanche blocking highway 16 just west of Mt Robson, we decided to turn back to Valemount and get a room for the night. We chose the comfort inn as it appeared to be new. Check-in was ok and upon entering the room was impressed with the 12 foot ceiling. That’s where the positive impressions ended. The room was dirty and unfinished. It appeared that the room hadn’t been vacuumed in a while with dust and hair all over the floor in the bathroom and construction dust covering all the baseboard trim and in the corners. Some of the trim still had its shipping protective coating on it and in place the trim was just missing. On pulling back the bed covers it was clearly evident by the hairs and contours of the bedding that the bedding had not been changed since the last customer slept in it. Upon requesting fresh bedding, we ended up changing the bedding ourselves as there was only one employee on shift and he needed to man the front desk. NOT a good experience.

We stopped on our way from Vancouver to Edmonton and were so impressed we stopped on the way back too. Family friendly, dog friendly, Rooms on the first floor have really high ceilings, brand new, extremely clean, comfortable beds, and incredibly friendly staff. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel.

We were looking for a beautiful safe getaway and found it at the comfort inn in Valemount. The staff was friendly, warm and accommodating. When we arrived to book in, we asked to look at the room. They showed us a gorgeous king size room and we booked it on the third floor. What a wonderful oasis to come back to after days of hiking and swimming. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful oasis.
Diane in particular was so helpful. If we ran out of anything, one quick call & it arrived.
Their boiled eggs & choices for toast, juice were excellent too!
If you are health-conscious like we are, I would also recommend the living tree restaurant. They have a lovely patio and are super Covid conscious. Felt very safe eating there and their food was made with love🤗

I don’t often write reviews and I am doing so prior to even checking out of this hotel. Surrounding hotels are sadly, fully booked, otherwise I would have left.
In hindsight, I would have probably got more sleep if I had slept in my car, but decided not to do that to my young son, who was traveling with me.

After a long day of driving, we checked in, went for dinner and then headed to the pool. The room was clean and the staff friendly. As in other reviews, the pillows really are terrible, so if you’re planning on staying here, I recommend you bring your own. As we were unpacking, I heard a loud noise coming from the room beside me - something akin to an engine noise. When we left, I noticed the room beside mine was some sort of mechanical room (the Meter and Sprinkler Room).

When we returned, the noise, which was very loud, continued intermittently (about every 10-15 minutes). I spoke to the evening front desk staff, who said she would look into it, however she never followed up with me and the noise continued. I waited awhile, obviously unable to sleep, and then went out to speak with the night shift staff, who said there had been similar complaints in the past and that they had tried to soundproof the room. Being fully booked, they were unable to move me to a different room and faced with driving to another community in the middle of the night, I decided to stick it out and was offered a ‘discount’ for my trouble. We’ll see what that means in the morning.

Given this is clearly an issue that is ongoing, they should not be renting this room out until the problem is rectified. The fact that this has been brought to the owner’s attention and it has not been fixed is unacceptable. I would have been far more understanding had this been a new issue and would not be writing this review.

If you’re planning on staying here and happen to get a ground floor room, make sure it’s not beside the mechanical room. But better yet, I’d recommend you stay elsewhere.

We chose the hotel mainly because of the cheap price and its location halfway between Canmore and Whistler. Other considerations were free parking and breakfast. The hotel met all our expectations. Starting with ample and free parking for hotel guests. A sufficient breakfast. A very large and spacious room with two large and comfortable beds.
In particular, I would like to mention the kind staff, from the reception staff to the breakfast staff.
There is free wifi.
The hotel, as mentioned, is on the road, in front of the room runs the main road and also a railway. You hear the traffic of the trains and trucks, I don't know if there are rooms facing the other side, if there are and the noise bothers you, you should ask for a room on the quiet side. (We were tired from a day of hiking so the noise didn't bother us).

This was our 3rd stay at valemount, we have always had a good experience at this hotel
However we had a family emergency and requested to leave a day earlier but made it clear that If the room rate would still be charged we would just stay one more day but if it was possible to leave with out a fee we would like to get on the road and go home.
The attendant assured us there would be no charge and that he would reimburse our card.
We were then told that they were having issues with their machine and the manager would personally contact us. Danny Choi the manager never contacted us as they promised, the did not return our call until later that afternoon and said they were looking into things still. The next we called and they said they had to wait until the banks were open. Today they have not answered any of our phone calls and have no made any attempts to call us. We are still out $280 and are very upset at how this has been handled. We will not be staying there again and would not recommend this hotel to family or friends
