Our first time in Huntsville with my little family. We stayed in the motel and it was super cozy and clean. The online reservation was very easy, Bruce and Nicolle were prompt with their email responses and very helpful. We kept ourselves busy with the fun water activities (canoeing, kayaking, swimming, etc), my 9 year old son thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Driving distance to the family restaurants in town, yummy Kawartha ice cream, beautiful scenery (especially Lions' Lookout), Algonquin Park. The play area was a little too young for my son but we enjoyed it! We also enjoyed a nighttime firepit roasted marshmallows and looking the beautiful starry sky. Next time will definitely rent the cottage, so that we have a kitchen and not have to rely on the outdoor bbq...we'll be back for sure!!

Another awesome week at Colonial Bay Resort. My wife and I have been going to Colonial Bay for about 15yrs now. Vacation, weekend getaway, anniversary etc. Bruce and Nicole never disappoint us. Cottages and motel rooms are always clean and comfy. Family friendly and quiet for a relaxing holiday. The whole family (Bruce,Nicole,Luke,Ben and Addy) are never to busy to stop and chat or look after your needs. We always have a great time and can’t wait to go back, the property is amazing and on the lake for swimming, boating or just relaxing.

We recently stayed at Colonial Bay Cottages while touring the Huntsville area. Their beautiful property is located right on the lake and provides a very relaxing environment. There is a nice sandy beach and lots of water toys for use in the warmer months. Our cottage was very clean, cozy and comfortable. Nicolle and Bruce were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. We’ll be back!

We as a family had the worst experience in Colonial bay and resorts! We booked two rooms, with two queen beds each room for our family of five. The rooms were dated, smell Moldy, sheets were stained with blood in room 2, which were changed after complaints.
No exhaust fan, internet was very bad. They were not Covid conscious, they entered our room many time, without masks. My son has autism and brain injuries, he broke their Old Tv, which was from Elements, ( which had disconnected to make tv now), which you can get for $50, but we paid full amount for new Samsung TV. We were honest with them, but even after getting full amount, they started getting into our room, and passed judgments.
My son stained the white sheet with ketchup mark, (which are easy to clean and bleach) the owner Bruce, said, oh, now we have to clean the linen. Then I asked, you don’t clean your linen, that’s why there was blood stains in other room. The both husband wife were racist, discriminating against disability. The wife, said on our face that she can’t even look at us or talk to us, because the way we live, our son is 14, with autism and brain injury, who is like a 2 years old, we wanted to give our children some good time , but we failed due to their bad attitude and discrimination against us Indian people and disabilities.
Both husband wife are rude, racist, white privileged.
The resort is nowhere, close to any restaurant, no microwaves in the rooms, so nothing to warm up your food or drinks. The lake front is not sandy, just wild growths. The decks are wiggly and loose. Nearest city to go and eat is 35 minutes away. No facilities in the rooms and price is way more than others.
We take three small trips every summer to give our children good memories, we have been to US, Northbay, Quebec, Kirkland, Sunbeam bungalows ( which are very nice), this was the worst place and worst experience.

My family and I just had a vacation there and I was the worst experience of my life. Cottage owners were rude, judgemental, discriminatory of disable people and racist. There were red blood stains on the sheets, bc they rarely wash them, there were insects crawling inside the motel. They were discriminatory of my little autistic brother and were not accommodating at all. Definitely do not recommend staying there.

A truly delightful stay with Bruce and Nicolle at Colonial Bay Cottages and Motel, we would have loved to stay longer! It was such a warm and friendly welcome and a really peaceful spot to land, it felt like coming home somehow. Such generous hosts, we felt privileged to share this gorgeous spot; it was so good to be able to go out on the lake in canoes, kayaks, paddleboard and pedalo and enjoy the calm, clear waters. And equally relaxing to chill in comfy seats with stunning views beside the lake and truly switch off. Thank you so much. A true highlight on our trip and we would love to come back sometime!

We have been visiting Colonial Bay for close to 20 years now. From the beginning, Nicolle and Bruce have welcomed our family with open arms and warm hearts. Colonial Bay provides the perfect Muskoka experience, successfully blending breathtaking nature and rustic charm with uncompromising comfort and an endless list of fun and interesting activities. Various life responsibilities limit our vacation opportunities, but Colonial Bay remains a permanent fixture in our August calendar.

We have been going to Colonial Bay for many years (20?) and always have a great family vacation. The swimming, fishing and water sports are kid-friendly and fun. The property is perfect for soccer or frisbee or reclining in a chair. The cottages are simple and clean and cozy, with a bbq and deck out front. The owners are friendly and attentive. Can’t wait till next year.

What an absolutely charming experience! From the moment we were met by owners Bruce and Nicolle we knew this would be a special week, and so it proved.
We used Colonial Bay as our base for exploring this part of Canada, with all it's beauty.
And it seemed that every time we returned to base, there was Bruce out on the property keeping everything looking great and ship shape. Nicolle was always at hand to answer our many questions about the surrounding area.
A real treat. Thanks Colonial Bay Cottages!

Thank you immensely for hosting us. Our stay at your place was an absolute delight, and we cherished every moment. The nearby towns of Dwight and Bracebridge were captivating, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. Your guidance on our tour was invaluable and greatly enhanced our experience.
Our final stop at Port Carling was particularly memorable. The route itself was breathtaking, with nature's splendor truly taking center stage. The two days we spent in Huntsville were equally wonderful, surrounded by such serene and picturesque landscapes.
We are deeply appreciative of your hospitality and the effort you put into making our visit so special. The natural beauty of the area has left a lasting impression on us, and we already find ourselves wishing we could stay there indefinitely.
Once again, thank you for being such a gracious host. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Warm regards,
Sunghyun & Tarj
