We had a lot of fun, but the hotel wasn't as nice as I expected. The rooms were a bit run down, with peeling paint on the balcony, and even in the room. On the up side, they are in a renovation phase. The lobby, the pool, and the restaurants were nice. Beach access is convenient. Drinks at the pool were definitely watered-down and over priced. Our package included free breakfast. Room service was fast and the food was reasonably priced and tasty. The staff was very friendly and professional. One of my biggest disappointments was the level of trash on the beach. Some "Do Not Litter" signs might be helpful, as well as some effort to clean the beach from time to time. Although we didn't use the spa or fitness area, we did look and it was nice. We were there in February, and the weather was amazing.

Great beach location, but much of it ends there. The single biggest sticking point for us was the service or lackthereof provided by most of the staff. This does not include everyone, as there were a couple of people that we had pleasant interactions with. Most were unfortunately unfriendly, unhelpful, and/or seemingly confused, with many guest-facing employees from a variety of departments lacking in their customer relation skills.
Despite the service being below average in many areas, the food quality was good and convenience of gift shop / beach access was nice. Elevators were inconvenient (especially getting to/from the top floors), valet took a long time to retrieve our vehicle, and the room/decor/appliances were extremely dated.
We picked the property because it seemed nice online and was convenient walking distance to Haulover beach, however, we're not sure that it is worth that convenience for our future visits. We will be returning to the area, but unfortunately considerating alternatives.

Rooms are nicely updated, good size, and clean. The location is great - right on the beach by the pier. The pool is nice and the pool bar/restaurant staff are great and attentive. Front desk staff was not informative. Although extremely pleasant, the gentleman at check in did not explain all hotel regulations. I repeatedly tried to order room service following the instructions provided on the in-room information as well as website information. I was only told that room service orders needed to be put through the front desk once I checked out, having never been able to order. The staff at check out was very dismissive when I inquired about this. Our room had a jacuzzi tub but it did not work. Hotel amenities could be better. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap is provided but no lotion. There is no glass/cup door mouth rinsing in the bathroom. There is an ice bucket but no cups. With just a few upgrades, the experience could be much better.

Where do I begin......we booked this trip several months prior to our kids spring break. 3 days prior to departing, I tried to get ahold of the resort to notify them that we had to cancel the first 3 days due to an emergency. Unable to reach anyone, I decided to email the reservations department. The hotel notified me that our reservations had been completely cancelled 1 month prior to our date of booking. I immediately called to speak with a manager who informed me that they sent 1 email letting me know our debit card that was on file showed up as a error when they tried to run it. (The card had been lost after placing it on file with the resort). The email stated I had several days to respond or they were canceling our reservations. Zero calls or further emails notifying me to contact them. I continued to get emails weekly from the resort pertaining to our vacation and stay. The resort had sold out completely and our only option was a city view room. The hotel manager and further staff members showed zero sympathy in the situation that they solely had placed our family in. We decided to stay at the Trump resort further down the beach. The day we walked down to see what we were missing I realized the staff had done us a favor being so rude and inconsiderate. The Newport is a complete dump. The resort was having guests stay in rooms that had construction blue vinyl wrap on all the windows. Our friends were ready to walk out of the resort within 2 days of being woken up by construction noise.

We originally had reservations to stay at a hotel down the road. That other hotel was SO run down and old and in desperate need to be torn down. Thankfully Newport Beachside had some rooms available and we were able to transfer hotels. Nice friendly staff, always ready to help and try and accommodate you. Our room wasn’t ready yet so they gave us a key to a changing room and stored our luggage for free in a secure location so we could use the pool or beach. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Each room has their own thermostat to adjust the temperature in the room to keep it comfortable. I wasn’t able to connect to the WiFi, but we are on vacation and don’t need to be connected 24/7. Bathrooms are large and clean. Pool is clean.

Pros:
1. The beach was nice, and the hotel is next to the pier.
2. The bartenders at the outdoor bar did a great job. We had drinks daily and got lunch from them daily. The food came out fast and was good.
3. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants and plenty of stores
Cons:
1. The online pictures of the resort/facilities are very misleading. The hotel rooms and outside pool area were not well kept or maintained. The gym equipment is very old and not well kept.
2. Hotel wanted $150 to do an early check-in if your room was available prior to 4 PM… never have had a hotel charge an early check-in fee
3. The pool/beach was very understaffed. It seemed like there was never enough people to do what needed to be done (clean the pool, clean the pool deck, put out chairs, help guests with beach cabanas, etc).
4. In the 7 days that we were there the pool was cleaned maybe 4 times, and when it was cleaned out it was during the morning when people were already laying out.
5. The pool deck consisted of cups, cigarette butts, and other trash/debris from the prior day. They just didn’t do a good job cleaning or maintaining the pool area, which is where most of the patrons spent their time.
6. There were not nearly enough lawn chairs or towels for the pool. Every morning people would come down and not have a chair or towel to use.
7. We were told at check-in that due to Covid housekeeping would not be coming to rooms unless requested. On our first full day I came back to the room around lunch to grab a few things and noticed that the trash was emptied and new towels were brought to us, we did NOT request housekeeping. Later in the evening before dinner, my wife and I both noticed we were missing a $100 bill from our wallets ($200 total). Our wallets were not locked up because we did not expect anyone to be in our room. We did file a report at the front desk and have still not received any update on the investigation (it’s been 2 weeks). From that day forward we left the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and locked our items in the safe. We went an entire week without housekeeping because we didn’t trust having anyone in the room.

Its been a few hours since we checked in, and it already is by far one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. Shower in our room did not work. No one ever picks the phone, so had to go down to the front desk and ask for help. Maintenance could not fix the issue, so was back at the front desk again. First they said we could use the pool showers (yes, you read correctly, every time we needed to shower we could just come 7 floors down and use the shower, and make our way back up again!). That obviously wasn't acceptable, and we asked for a change of room. First they said no room was available, then a room was available (without the ocean front view, that was in our original booking) and were asked to choose whether a view or shower was more important to us. After an argument, an ocean front room suddenly became available. The room though was at ground level and with barely any view. Packing everything up and dragging a tired kid to another room which wasn't equivalent to our original room, did not seem worth the hassle, so we gave up. Our no-shower room is a suite with a sofa bed, and room does not have any extra sheets, pillows or blankets. Since no one ever picks the phone, you have to go down to the front desk for every request. It's only been an hour since our request, and we are still waiting for the blankets and pillows! 😓
Disrespectful and dishonest staff, very shabby hotel with construction all around and broken down rooms is not worth any $$$ that you may pay to stay here. AVOID STAYING HERE.

We booked three rooms for three nights at Newport Beachside January 17 to 20 before taking a cruise out of Miami. All of us found the hotel to be good, friendly, convenient to both FLL and MIA airports and reasonably priced.
Well, here's what it cost: 3 nights $371.25 plus a resort fee of $28.25 per night which added $84.75 to the total cost. It was all booked a few weeks before travel date using Hotwire. It's lucky we booked early because the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort was full - not a single available room left. The staff are all friendly and helpfull and able to serve in Spanish and English at the front desk.
This hotel is not 5 star pretentious. New carpeting was being installed while we were there along with elevator upgrade and some room upgrades, but we were glad to be in a great Sunny Isles location: Highlight... the Collins Ave S Bus stop is a few steps from the front of the hotel. This S Bus goes up and down Collins Ave between Aventura Mall and Miami's South Beach Lincoln Road outdoor mall - bus is only $2.25
My recommendation is take a taxi from MIA or FLL airports, use the bus to visit South Beach and then when you're ready to go to your ship just ask the desk to call a shuttle or a car.. Easy Peasy as the Brits like to say!
Eat breakfast across the road at Einstein Bros Bagels. Walk to Haulover Park and rent a bike for the day. Swim at the beach by the pier.

My husband and I booked room 1123 at Newport Beachside for 6 nights starting from January 19, 2020. Our trip was both business and personal. We were there during a cold front and the temperatures dipped in the 40s. The heat in the room wasn't working. My husband couldn't get WiFi on his computer. After unpacking our things, we turned on the TV to watch the 2nd playoff game between the Packers and 49ers to find out the game was was blocked. We called Front Desk around 8pm to ask about the internet and the heat. We spoke with the Manager Miriam who said because of the remodeling none of the rooms had WiFi, and that he would have to come to the lobby to get WiFi. We also mentioned the heat in the room was not working, and that my pullover wasn't enough, she informed us that NO HOTEL in S. Florida provides heat! We told her that we had to have WiFi for to do business and our only solution was to check out, get a refund and stay elsewhere. We made a few calls and found a room available at the Hollywood Beach Marriott for a little bit more. We packed our things and went downstairs to check out around 9pm. The only positive experience was our money of $1921 was fully refunded. Thank goodness we didn't book through a third party otherwise we would of been stuck! This was our third stay at Newport, each time we visited we noticed a progression for the worse. After this experience we will no longer be staying at Newport, but we were happy to have discovered the Marriott. We stayed in a room with an Ocean View, WiFi, and HEAT!! The heat came in handy, we used it during most of our stay. Wow, I don't know what the manager Miriam was trying to pull over on us by saying no hotels in S. Florida have heat. Newport, please get your act together and train your managers to speak the truth and let your visitors know from the beginning, there is no heat or WiFi in any of your rooms, and if there is a big game on tv such as the playoffs, please inform your guests in advance!

I stayed in two rooms. The first had no working A/C that was not fixed after asking twice. After a hot night, they moved me to a new room and gave me a room with a balcony for my trouble with the A/C. All rooms were very tired, with worn out carpet and furnishings and several things that needed fixing. In the first, a/c did not work and the temperature regulator handle for the shower/bath did not work. In the second, toilet seat was very loose and the door would not close without strongly pushing or pulling it. Outside windows were filthy. Elevators were very slow and there were only two, leading to long waits. There was no wifi in the room, which was a major pain. Expensive "resort fee" and Parking fee (about $30 per day each).
Beds and pillows were comfortable, lobby was nice, as was the beach, and the staff was pretty helpful, though no one ever came to fix the A/C.
I like staying in older hotels, but no excuse for the lack of updates, things not working, and no wifi in room. I did not care for Sunny Isles Beach. Some decent restaurants, but difficult beach access, expensive and all of the tall towers blocked the view of the ocean.

We were charged130.19 for all taxes and fees. But resort fee was high at 25.00 and 10.00 for parking.
It is definitely on the beach! Great beachfront too,.right by the pier. They have beach longers you can use as well.
