Lady at reception Tanya, older firm lady other reviews referred to as mean. False. She and housekeeping lady shaved head was some of the sweetest people you could ask a favour from. I know I worked for Sheraton Corp. and /Cambridge Suites Corp. It’s one thing to offer stars another to hire passionate people. Again asked sweet lady for referral for breakfast .She gave it. End result bang exactly what we wanted. Parking-ratty. Could see a cleanup. Picnic tables in parking lot a nice thought especially with covid. End result the gathering hoots made a lot of noise. Location is bang on. Perfect to Tobermory-Sauble Beach-Blue Mountain.Room was super clean. Had some fix ups to do. Not a deal killer. People at the hotel were the game changer.If you’re a shutter bug and want to complain about everything pay $200+ .IF you have and eye and ear for getting what you payed for then stay here. Rule number one treat other how you expect to be treated. Miracles will happen. Thank you staff you did your job Band On! P.S. Previous bad rating against Tanya.false that guy checked in late wanted the world.Really rude guy!! If he'd worked for a hotel he should know better. I've worked for Sheraton and Cambrige group.

We stayed at this hotel due to the closeness to the local hockey arena. We arrived and the check in process ran smoothly.
The website states they sanitize and clean the rooms between guests. We stayed in room 110 June 3-5 and the room was not sanitized. Surfaces were not wiped down due to the amount of dust in the room. The bedroom windows were so filthy with dirt. The bathtub needs a deep clean and the bathroom floor was dirty. The base of the toilet has not been cleaned in a long time.
I went to adjust the air con unit and the amount of filth in it floored me.
We payed over 350 Canadian for the two nights and I am shocked that it is a Wyndom.
They had a bagged breakfast which was 2 granola bars 2 Melba toasts a bottled water and a juice box. They did have coffee, a banana and a container of yoghurt

This was 2nd visit to stay overnight at Owen Sounds before heading to Tobermory. We chose this hotel this time. Upon checking in was easy smooth, staff was nice and helpful to me. Hotel it’s self can tell old building but renovated shower/washroom make our family to happy comfortable to stay. No swimming pool and not that much amenities such as shampoos, body wash and toothpaste is minus. Bed sheets were clean but full of wrinkles was wonder for me. Since COVID-19, breakfast was not available but were provided with water, juice,fruit cup and snack bar in bag was bonus for us to take to Tobermory and appreciate it :-) Will stay again in this hotel.

This is rare moment for me in that I cannot recommend this motel. I do not need fancy but I do expect clean.
STRIKE 1: Crumbs on coffee table, crumbs on the floor, stuff left in the fridge, hair in the tub. My wife’s feet were sticking to floor out in the hall way landing.
STRIKE 2: The room picture in booking site may be a picture of an actual Travelodge room somewhere but not here. You are being mislead.
Strike 3: There was no office chair in our room. When I inquired downstairs I was told I could carry one of the kitchen chairs up tp my room. I wasn’t going to do this. Later I asked someone else and they did take an office chair out of another room and brought it to ours. I feel bad for whoever would check into the room they took the chair from.
Strike 4: The breakfast bag contained a bag of ketchup chips, that’s right I said a bag of ketchup chips and a dessert granola bar.
What bothers me how I paid for this place then the regular hotel chain we stay in when visiting a town. The chain was not in this town or I would have booked with them. This chain has clean rooms, bigger and nicer rooms and for the covid breakfast they give you a choice of egg muffins with sausage or ham and bran muffins, cold milk etc.

I am aware that there are staffing issues following the covid pandemic, nevertheless there are standards of maintenance and now particularly cleanliness that should be maintained if hotel services are offered. We were passing through on a long journey and thought the Travelodge was a reliable brand. We did not book ahead as we were not sure when we would stop. It was conveniently on the main thoroughfare close to restaurants. The room we were given was opposite reception but surprisingly fairly quiet. The first problem was no plug in the sink. The receptionist was alone but attempted to find a plug but of the several she had, none would fit. The bath plug was deteriorating rubber. The handle on the bath/shower kept falling off and was difficult to use. There was black mold in the bathroom. The carpets were covered in sharp sticky crumbs so it was impossible to walk without shoes. We were extremely tired from travelling and presumed Travlodge was a reliable brand. We were not offered another room although in the morning a different receptionist sympathized, she was also cleaning the breakfast area at the time, and said we should have been and would receive a discount for our trouble. The next day someone called and said we would be charged the minimum rate so a discount of about $12, I expected better. The breakfast was a brown bag to go containing water, juice box, granola bars.

Worst experience ever. 1st of all, Hotel owner has no concept of information privacy of customers. she gave my personal info to friends who where staying there at same time as us, just because she was unable to contact me. when i got in touch with her, she was extremely rude and was threatening to cancel my reservation.
2nd Issue was that when i got to the hotel to check in they had given my room to someone else, because the other guest had the same last name as mine but not the first name. which they should have noticed as they where asking for ID from everyone who checks in. which took them over an hour to sort out.
3rd. Rooms where completely under par, for what we paid, as there was a broken down microwave that did not work, the mini fridge was turned off, NO Toiletries in the bathroom and only 1 little face towel.
4th. As per reservation terms, I was allowed to pay at checkout with other acceptable forms of payment, but during check out they told me that they had already charged my credit card the day before, and was told too bad but that is the was the owner likes it.
So basically I will never use their hotel again and i don't recommend them either. I am sure there is plenty of other good hotels in Owen Sound that could use the business.

I chose a pet-friendly room at Travelodge and I was surprised how clean the room was and how good it smelled. I brought a budgie in a large flight cage and she seemed to enjoy the room, especially the view out the large picture window. The room was very quiet even though this was the pet section of the hotel. The friendly front desk staff provided a bagged breakfast each day and it was substantial with a very large muffin, two granola bars, a yogurt, a juice box, and a bottled water. Bananas, coffee, and tea were available throughout the day. Parking late Saturday night was a bit of a challenge due to commercial trailers taking up multiple spaces.

The hotel staff were great! But upon booking they told my husband he was charged for two rooms, we only booked one. They were happy to give the room to someone else as it was the long weekend and needed rooms. The room was then available and someone else paid for it and used it. We were still charged for the extra room. Have had the runaround from Travelodge. Still had to pay $172.88 for a room we never used that was used and paid for by someone else. Do not book using the 1-800 number!

If it was done through a 3rd party site, we try to work with them, but have no control. I cannot look into this for you as there were many many reservations that weekend and it would take me a very long time to go through them all to find this as I have no name attached to this. My husband was having surgery the next morning and with terrible weather we booked a room the night before rather than take a chance on missing it. Nothing fancy but staff were great, room was clean and good value for the cost. If I was on a vacation I might have been disappointed but it was good for our needs. Bed was comfortable, towels were clean and soft but the room took quite a while to warm up and the wifi kept cutting out.

Good Value for the money I will recommend to any one . central location lot of restaurants around. good for families and groups Plenty of parking and it is free. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The natural bath on the Sabule Beach was a great way to end the trekking.
