Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa garners mixed reviews from its visitors. The resort's atmosphere is appreciated by some for its rustic charm and spaciousness, although others describe it as outdated and in need of rejuvenation. While the prime location is well-regarded, especially for ski enthusiasts, and the staff receives commendations for their friendliness, guests often raise concerns over the cleanliness and state of the rooms. Additionally, many guests feel the resort's pricing does not reflect the quality and services provided, citing closed amenities and service issues as points of contention.

We went to the Stoweflake for the first time because they were offering Vermont residents discounted rates during the pandemic. It was highly recommended by friends as well. We had a great time, very clean, everything was sanitized and they were very proactive in cleanliness. We stayed in a huge King sized suite, which was wonderful and I imagine the fireplace is great in winter. Very nice pool and spa facilities and you can't beat the location. The rooms are a bit dated but I really don't know of anywhere in Vermont that isn't, it's just not a super ritzy kind of place, so we were pleasantly surprised and really, really enjoyed our stay. Will not hesitate to return!

My daughters and I planned a spa overnight at the Stoweflake and were not disappointed. We were allowed to use the spa prior to check in for our scheduled appointments. The spa was clean, the staff friendly, the amenities lovely. We were disappointed that some things were not available due to the COVID pandemic, but understandable. The massage staff were professional and had excellent skills. Lockers made storage easy for clothing and items for after you slipped into one of the spa's luxurious spa robes. Fresh water with lemon or cucumber are freely available. They take COVID seriously and have plenty of hand sanitizer and reminders visible for cleanliness and social distancing. Our room was lovely. The decor seemed a little confusing, trying hard to be both Vermont cozy and luxury with flowers at the same time. However, in terms of comfort, details matter and this was a great experience. The linens and quilts were butter soft and smooth. The mattress exactly firm enough. Extra quilts made the difference for a chilly September VT evening, and the fireplace-on-demand was such a nice touch as we settled down for the night. The room was clean and sanitized, though we did find trash from previous guests in the drawers. This did not concern us much in terms of the pandemic but it did make us wonder a little. Staff at the Stoweflake were just so gracious and seemed to know the true meaning of hospitality. We enjoyed our quick overnight spa visit very much!!

should include breakfast for over 350 dollars per night, not to mention that decor and interior were old looking. Everything seemed to be so far away from another, hotel desk, restaurant, spa, etc. Not enough towels left in room, when came back to room later that day, not vacuumed or cleaned up very well other than made bed. Location is far from the slopes and that price, that's not worth it.

I don’t write many reviews but after staying here this past weekend (1 night only) I wanted to put in my two cents since I read reviews here before booking. Perhaps some rooms are more updated than others but for $350+ I was expecting more. Room was dated (peeling wallpaper, bed frame was broken, tile cracked, heat/cooling system extremely loud and not well functioning) and did not seem clean (found previous guest’s clothes under the bed and hair in the sheets). I also expected more with the Covid protections. They screened guests, but to get in the room we had to open six doors, never saw a staff member wiping anything down, hand sanitizer was nowhere to be seen in our part of the resort, other guests were inconsistent wearing masks. Was hoping for a safe and special night away with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and left feeling disappointed and uneasy.

The Stoweflake was in a great location, it had spacious rooms for family + ski equipment, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The fireplaces, real and otherwise, was a nice feature in making the hotel homey. Pleasurable stay.

Hi Bret, Thank you for the positive review. So great to hear you enjoyed the property and your stay. I was particularly pleased that you liked our staff. They are the best and can really make all the difference between a good stay and a great stay. We love all of our fireplaces too.....especially this time of the year! Scot.

Stowe flake is in a perfect location in Stowe but it needs significant updates. My biggest disappointment was to find out that in order to have your room cleaned it needed to be scheduled. We checked in on a Friday and we were not surprised not having the room cleaned on Saturday (has become a normal ) but when it was not cleaned on Sunday I was surprised. I was told by the front desk that it needed to be scheduled and that it was part of the confirmation email I received. I believe this should have been communicated when we checked in. We paid a premium for this location.

With all of the craziness going on, we wanted a quick long weekend get away but still stay close by. We rented a townhouse at the Stoweflake. The staff automatically delivered more sheets, towels and toiletries for us as we had 3 families staying. The house was very clean. The privacy of the back deck was key. Every morning having coffee on the back porch and night time wine while the kids ran around on the spacious back lawn! We HIGHLY recommend any Vermonter right now wanting to get away to visit the Stoweflake. We felt very comfortable with the Covid being the issue. Masks are worn in buildings/hallways. We spent time by the pool while everyone was socially distanced and courteous while being in the pool. All in all 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice, clean and comfortable hotel right off of Mt Road. Near popular breweries and restaurants. Close drive to downtown Stowe, and Stowe Resort. Right off recreational path and resort has its own walking "path". Took full advantage of outdoor jacuzzi and the fireplace in our room. Room was very clean and sanitized. Had sanitized sticker over key insert on door, and room was left empty prior to arrival. Wish jacuzzi was open later than 6pm, to enjoy later at night and after dinner. Room had a nice fireplace which we enjoyed at night

After dining at Harrison's in downtown Stowe we decided not to drive home that night. Stoweflake was running a Vermonter's special so we capitalized on it. Due to Covid some amenities were missing but to be expected. The gas fire place was very nice as it did snow during the night and outdoor temps were below freezing. It was one of the few times we've lodged at any facility and it was totally quiet from the time we entered the room until we left. Something we really, really appreciated on this stay.

I am only writing this negative review for no other reason than to alert prospective guests that there are perhaps better options.
As I drove up to the "resort", the first thing I noticed was the building itself was shabby looking and need or some work. Oh well. When I got my room I was told where I could park for the night. It was across a lot that had a surface that resembled the moon. It was pouring rain that night and I had to try to avoid a lot of puddles and .Wet ankles. Got to the room .... This room rate was about $250 a night and we were staying 2 nights. I have some photos of the bathroom ceiling being slumped and a chunk of material missing out of a wall.
Any way the other annoyances were wifi was unusable even though we asked for it to be checked, it never worked. Gritty substance in the bed?
But the crowning glory of insults awaited. That morning we got up and went out for breakfast and then saw some sights and retuned to the room and found the bed unmade and the room not serviced. Called the desk and was told that had I wanted maid service, I should have asked for it at least 24 hours in advance, and I should have noticed it in the comfirmation email- you know that really small print no one ever reads? That really did it. Some Resort!
I guess I could have easily summed it up by saying "What a dump"
