We stayed two nights in July. Hotel is convenient to all major points of interest but the room was outdated, old TV with no remote, yellow stains on the sheets, duck tape in the bathroom. We asked for new sheets and they brought others also stained. Wouldn't stay there again.

As with all hotels there are good and bad aspects this hotel is a 3star and as such my expectations were limited.
However is should be said that this hotel had a lot going for it the good and bad points as I saw them were as follows.

1. location: about 10 mins walk from the main shopping festivals and nightlife areas in Montreal great when coming back late at night.

2. View: from the front of the hotel you couldn't see much as there are really tall buildings blocking the view and I was on the 19th and 20th floor but the back of the hotel has a better view which includes the mountain.

3. Room: first room I stayed in was adequate even though the TV was very dated(no HDMI sockets which I think should be standard ) for me to use my iPad, but this was the only problem with the room the second room was outstanding and had everything I needed.

4. Facilities: gym was basic some of the equipment did require some basic maintenance like silicon lube however it did the job, they also have a few well equipped laundry rooms.

5. Breakfast: this was first gripe it was VERY LIMITED, alright if you just want to fill up to save money (although frankly i would just send the money and have a descent breakfast somewhere else), otherwise don't consider this as part of your booking, it wasn't very good at all.

6. Staff: this was second gripe whilst the staff seemed friendly although there was only one member of staff (a white haired gentleman) who was on top of any issues I had (I wish I could remember his name), however he is a credit to the hotel if not for him this review might have been very different. One of the younger members of staff told me when I asked about a modern tv because when I booked the hotel I saw it in the pictures, that the hotel had no up to date TV's. Another member of staff said that he would sort out a issue I had with the room and then went off duty without telling anyone about it, so whoever the white haired gentleman was thank you for taking care of this customer.

Central location, easy to get around from. Room was spacious, very clean, and quiet. great shower pressure, plenty of bathroom amenities and towels for the three of us. Included a standard buffet breakfast which was plentiful, they were continually filling the dishes and everything was hot. Definitely would stay here for a night or two if in Montreal and looking for a good deal.

A great find, close to everything! Excellent value with breakfast included! All Staff is exceptional - front desk, breakfast area, maintenance, etc. Very clean, wouldn’t stay anywhere else if you are looking for good value! Depends on your priorities as there are many really high end hotels which are very expensive! Can’t wait to return to Carrefour Sherbrooke!

I would possibly stay here again, but you should also know that:

It was very inexpensive
It is a McGill dormitory--and the rooms look it
It needs some serious renovations
There were some unpleasant smells
Appliance were unplugged / did not work
The bedding was excellent, the plumbing less so
The staff was very helpful
The other guests tend toward high school team outings which arrive by the busload
The breakfast was nothing special, but was included
FREE internet!
GREAT location!

If you only need a cheap place to stay for a night or two? This *might* do it.
Expecting a *real* hotel? Look elsewhere.

This place is disgusting. We’ve had to switch rooms the first one was so dirty - pillowcases, rug and bedspread were stained. Both bathtubs in the rooms we had to switch to filled up with water and the sinks did too. The windows were so dirty we had to clean them in order to look through, and there were previous guests’ belongings and USED TOWELS left in the room. You’re better off sleeping in a grimy motel down the road, avoid this place at all costs. Also breakfast bar was NOT good - I found flies in my fruit and the eggs were for some reason gray? Ew. This place isn’t worth any of your money.

Place was an excellent value because of the location but everything is outdated- TV is an old Phillips model back from ancient times- need to add new carpet and update showers-- no room to store anything- bathrooms were small. Bed was definitely comfortable--breakfast was good. Housekeeping extremely poor- they do not clean rooms- place not well maintained like Comfort Inn and Suites or Le St Martin Hotel in Laval.

If you are looking for a cheap, convenient place to stay in Montreal this is perfect. However it does not include parking which can be tricky. This is a residence for McGill University so do not set your expectations high. Rooms could have been cleaner. AIr conditioning unit was very dirty and gross. You get what you pay for.

The room booked had 2 queen beds, one in a separate bedroom and the other in what could have been a living area. It was very clean, very comfortable, very quiet. Somewhat unexpected for the price paid. ($107).

I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in Montreal in that area. It is downtown, close to many attractions and the check-in lady Dai was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable even at the late hour of my arrival.

Parking is nearby, but offsite and you must pay for it. Breakfast is included.

Definitely a great choice.

My daughter and I stayed at Sherbrooke Carrefour while doing the University's tour and was a very nice experience. The rooms are nice and clean. Nothing fancy but considering is on a main street and downtown was very reasonable priced. Included a continental breakfast. This was average scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, yogourt, fresh fruits, assortment of breads and some cereals, but plenty and a decent variety. The pastries were very good and so was the coffee and the assortment of teas. We ended up staying for a second night and it worked out to our average because we got to stay on a two bedrooms unit with a kitchenette. The only down was that our room was on the 18th. floor and the elevators took a bit too long to come and get to the lobby. The ladies at the front desk and breakfast area were very nice and attentive. I will stay at this place again.
