This is our second stay at Le Dauphin in central Montreal and this time we've left an awful chain hotel to stay here. Le Dauphin is what a modern, chic, reasonably priced hotel should look and feel like. The rooms are spacious, comfortably appointed, with modern bathrooms, everything is immaculately clean and little extras, like modern showers, heated bathroom tiles, etc. that make a difference.
The staff is very helpful: Naomi was so pleasant, attentive and friendly when helping us book a wonderful room at the last minute when we've transferred from another hotel in Montreal.
The location cannot be beat: walking distance to everything, the old Port, Chinatown, popular central streets, restaurants etc. The decor is simple, but makes for a comfortable stay and a modern rocking chair is such a cool touch. We had a very urban view with a bit of Chinatown entrance gate and it was super cool.
Very good breakfast served daily, with plenty of food choices and excellent coffee. The overall environment is so pleasant: calm, quiet, modern, and well thought through. Love this little gem of a hotel, highly recommend.

Stayed here at the end of December for 4 nights (reduced to 3 nights due to delayed flights). Had a Junior Suite with 1 King bed, work station, big beautiful bathroom, and rather large sitting area. Great comfortable room, pleasant staff, great location within walking distance to the cathedral, many restaurants and cafes and close to other attractions. Continental breakfast was included (no hot food) and was served in a spacious dining room. Due to last minute Covid curfew, on our last day we had to take the breakfast into the room instead.
Other Covid precautions (plexiglass as reception desk, disinfectants, masking, vaccination proof etc) were also in place.
All in all a really great choice for a relaxing stay in central Montreal. Would definitely return and recommend it to others!

Hotel is minimalist and yet totally contemporary. Reception service excellent. The room is spacious has hardwood floors and even leather rocking chair. I really love the chair and wanted to know where to purchase. There’s a laptop for you to use if needed. The king size bed is most comfortable. I had a great night sleep. Breakfast even though continental and not hot is delicious. Love the chocolate croissants and the coffee machine that brews everything from moccachino to latte. There is also a bag of takeout breakfast if you prefer to eat elsewhere although the breakfast area is huge and has covid protocol of self distancing in place.
We really enjoyed our stay and thank you to all the hotel staff and management for knowing what their customers need and making provision for it.

We might have got a bad room, but honestly the concrete walls make the place feel like a prison cell. There was one window that faced a wall outside, so we had barely any natural light come in. We had all the lights on at 2pm in the afternoon. There is no parking, even though most sites will say it has free parking - you are forced to park at the convention center down the street at $25/24 hours. The free breakfast is old croissants with a lunch bag similar to one you would give your 10 year old going to school. The place is good for location, but that's about it in my opinion.

We booked this hotel based on reviews so I am thrilled to provide one for others.

This is a great boutique hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms. You could spend $100’s more to get robes or a couple of extras but walking into a room larger than many apartments with modern but minimalist furnishing, locally sourced toiletries was a real treat. It leaves more money to spend on all the amazing cuisine, wine and shopping that Montreal has to offer, but you still have a great home base.

Lots of space to hang up clothes and coats. Gorgeous shower.

The bagged breakfast was incredible value. Delicious pasty, yogurt, cheese, fruit and juice. I preferred this to hotels where you stand in line to make waffles.

The fitness centre was well equipped for a hotel this size. Lots of cardio equipment and some weights.

The location was amazing for us as first time visitors to Montreal. Old Montreal is a 5-7 minute walk away. St. Catherine’s shopping is also a walk away. We walked St. Laurent as well
from the hotel. Metro is close. The only time we used a car was to and from the airport.

We will absolutely book here again on our next trip.

I booked 8 rooms here on Booking.com with fully refundable, no payment necessary pay at property terms. There was a disclaimer that the property could take a deposit and then return it to verify the credit card was valid.
I have 4 separate bookings on Booking.com, all with the same business card. No other issues.
In this case I kept recieving msg's that my card info was not valid. I followed up with both the property and Booking.com. The latter stated that it is a property issue as they are managing payment and to contact them.
I have tried to update my card info on the secure link, 3 times (even though it is valid). I have emailed and phoned the property a number of times in the last 3 days. Front desk will not process my card and tells me i need to speak with managers (Fabrice or Maxime).
Bottom line? Yesteray it was cancelled on me. I verified with the bank that there were no declines, in fact there was an authorization made. The hotel could have charged the card in full without issue.
I want my booking re-instated as per my confirmation. The hotel is not responding and Booking.com says their hands are tied, even with bank proof.
I upheld all of my portion of the terms of this agreement. How can a hotel get away with this?
They have since blooked bookings, and front desk told me price is much higher and min 4 nights (vs my booked 3)
Sounds shady right? Not a good situation, the hotel should honour my booking.

This small hotel has all one could wish for: spacious rooms with comfortable beds, large showers, in room amenities like a safe, fridge, and ironing board. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are kept immaculately clean. There is a nifty gym and a large lounge area in the lobby. each room and the lobby has an apple computer, too. Wifi is free. It is conveniently located downtown and is close to any place a visitor might be interested in seeing. But the absolutely best thing about this hotel are the people who man the front desk. Erin was amazing with our complicated check-in ( a family reunion!) and everyone was marvelously helpful throughout.

Spacious and clean accommodations. Simply furnished and comfortable.
Nice bathroom and shower. Everything you need for a restful stay.
Check in and check out was simple.
Two spots in front of hotel to unload and check in.
COVID protocols in place and followed. Everyone was professional and courteous. Breakfast to go was an added bonus. Great coffee machine, cereal, fresh croissants and a bag containing orange juice, yogurt, cheese and jelly.
My only con. Our room 308, as spacious as it was, did not provide a night table or light on one side of the bed.
Great location with easy walk to old port.
Self parking at convention center about two blocks from hotel at $25.00 cad per night.
Highly recommend if your looking for a simple, clean and nice location.

We really enjoyed this smaller boutique hotel.

Check In was smooth, staff is helpful. Room is clean, well appointed, exactly as described.
Safe building, need key to access elevator.

Grab & Go Breakfast was one of the best we've recently experienced: Bag with OJ, apple, cheese and yogurt- then, optional Cherrios & milk and croissants and pastries, hot chocolate, tea and coffee. Pastries are absolutely delicious!!!

Like most downtown hotels, you do need to pay for parking. Park it, safety, and forget it for the duration. Great central location. We walked everywhere, but you could take the bus, Metro or taxi.

Hint 1: There are two "office -centric" restaurants within a block with good, reasonably priced food.

Hint 2: Ask for a room on an upper floor. Otherwise you'll be looking at a brick wall.

I'm happy I chose this hotel and would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in Montreal.

I stayed at the hotel for four days to attend the International AIDS 2022 conference. As there were thousands of people attending the conference from across the globe, I was very very lucky to find the last room. I spoke to Naomi who confirmed all the details and am so grateful to find a decent rate of $205 (tax included) per day. It was even better as the hotel was right next door to the conference centre. There were two of us. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, and courteous. The breakfast was awesome with a wide display of baked goods, fruits, eggs, yoghurt, juices, and coffee, tea. The room was spacious with a large queen size bed, large window, etc. I had a very comfortable stay and will highly recommend the hotel to visitors to Montreal. I would stay at the hotel for future trips.
