Just back from a 2 night stay at this little gem of a boutique hotel which is only a few steps away from Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal. The hotel is situated on a high end shopping street and is accessed through a small alleyway. There is no frontage to the hotel so it could be easy to miss. It is directly opposite the Louis Vuitton store.
The staff are a real credit to the hotel. They are friendly and helpful. On arrival, I was unhappy with my room. There was nothing wrong with the room but it did not suit me for personal reasons. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available but I was promised another room the next day. I was given a delightful room and my luggage was transferred for me. I think the kindest and friendliness of the staff really made my stay enjoyable (single female traveler). The continental breakfast is adequate and served with Covid compliance. There is a pleasant roof terrace overlooking the rooftops of Venice, which is open all day. The rooms I stayed in had comfortable beds, effective air conditioning (it was very hot weather) and plentiful hot water and decent showers. The cleanliness of this hotel was superb. I would definitely stay at Hotel Firenze when I next visit the city.

What a wonderful time my wife and I had in Italy last November! Our first stop on our 2 week journey was Venice; and what a wonderful stop it was. We stayed at the Firenze Hotel and was very happy that TRIP ADVISOR recommended this quaint and lovely Hotel for our first leg of the trip. It was fun getting on the Water Taxi to get to our hotel. Once you get off the taxi you have to walk up the street to get to you hotel; but that made it more exciting and fun. At first we couldn't find the hotel because there is no large hotel sign! Just a small plaque on the ground which we didn't see at first; but once we saw the sign we entered a small court and there was our hotel! Very clean, nice rooms, nice hot breakfast. Great front desk which were very friendly and helpful. The Firenze Hotel is where I will stay next time I go to Venice! Very close to everything and and such a wonderful experience we had at this lovely lovely Hotel!!!

We were recommended to stay here and are so glad we listened to our friend. From the moment we entered the tiny, charming courtyard and lobby we knew it was gonna be different. Andrea, Ricardo and Teresa made our stay unforgettable. We did not want to leave. Andrea started by giving us a map that is a treasure of mine now! He was very clear about where NOT TO GO and avoid bad food, tourist traps and other wastes. The hotel staff is all local and they get to know their guests and want them to experience Venice. I have only ever seen this before in movies. We learned a lot about the city and were encouraged to ‘get lost’ in certain areas. The recommendations for Cicchetti resulted in one of the best standing up meals I have ever had in my life! The rooftop is very pretty and the hotel is next to San Marco so a solid location. They still do things the ‘old fashioned way’ and we loved it. The room was clean and charming, no complaints what so ever. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and the overall rate was very good. If you take the water bus from S Lucia station it will take about 35 min to get there.

We were able to extend our stay with no issue, the hotel booked us an unforgettable dinner at Local, and we got laundry done for a very very reasonable price. Needless to say we will send family here and definitely be back!

This should be a nice hotel but I couldn’t recommend it because it was so incredibly noisy at night. We could hear everything from the street outside (drunks frequently passing and waking us up until about 2am) and the adjoining rooms (neighbours got in drunk at 4am two nights in a row), church bells were incredibly loud at 7.30am and then the street was full of shouting people for at least half an hour (presume the shop owners). Lastly our room was directly above the breakfast room which was full of loud groups from 8am until we were forced to get up.

The hotel was very well located (close to san marco square and water bus stops) but I wish we’d gone for a soul-less well-insulated modern hotel and had some sleep.

The breakfast room is a bit cramped, the food was a standard continental style offering.

The rooftop terrace is quite nice, it doesn’t look out over anything in particular, just generic roofs, you can’t see any of the sights from it.

The bathroom was very good, shower was good pressure and temperature and there was a ledge for toiletries.

We found the temperature in the room a bit hard to regulate, it was cold when we were there but the room kept getting too hot (hotter than we had set the thermostat to), but the windows open so we could air it.

The bed was ok, a bit hard. Pillows were good but the bedding was a combination of a sheet, blanket and bedspread that was a bit awkward as the layers would come apart and hard to get comfortably covered. I assume in the summer it would be fine as you’d only want the sheet anyway.

The people on reception were very friendly and helpful, the map we got was better than the one in the guidebook. Unfortunately they seemed utterly unable to tell when you didn’t want to hear their spiel, we got talked at for several minutes by one guy twice and another guy once when we just wanted to give / take our key and get out / up to the room.

Other than its location near St Mark’s square, the hotel has nothing to offer it’s guests. The entrance to the hotel is through a very narrow alley opening in a small dingy area. Gives a creepy feel. The hotel lobby is just for name sake, hardly any space to even stand if two people or some bags there. The hotel has no place to store luggage in case you reach early and want to leave your bags before getting a room. The rooms are very small and extremely inconvenient. I and my wife had a challenging time keeping our two medium size bags in the room. Could hardly move about in the room. The breakfast room is also very very small, with tables so close that it’s highly inconvenient to get up. The service staff at breakfast was unwelcoming and unpleasant, which was the general atmosphere at the hotel. The hotel doesn’t provide help with your bags, taking shelter of just being a three star hotel. We were two couples, had taken two rooms for three nights, expecting decent service. But the hotel was more like a transit hostel! Moving around we found many better 3 star hotels with pleasing and hospitable staff as were most of the people we interacted during our 4 days stay in Venice. We are frequent travellers having traveled the world staying at all kinds of hotels, including family owned. But never have come across a hotel so bad as this! The Hotel publicises it’s roof top restaurant, which is just a roof with some tables and chairs and a view of just roofs. Not a pretty sight! In all, a hotel not worth staying and certainly not value for money.

Beautiful small hotel just steps away from all main attractions in Venice. Rooms were very small but clean and furnished with Venetian style furniture and lighting, which actually just added to its charm. Service was amazing, from the checking in to checking out. Massimo and Daniel were always extra helpful in providing advice and directions. Breakfast was very delicious and server ladies were very attentive. We really enjoyed our stay and do recommend this hotel for anyone who is planning to visit Venice.

It was our first time in Venice so we decided to get an hotel close by the Center.
The location is perfect it’s right by San Marco plaza But it’s hidden in a little side street near the luxurious boutiques inside the city which is super nice.
The rooms are super nice, well decorated, our room had a modern newly refurbished bathroom which was great, the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was included and good. The service was excellent, very friendly staff, the concierge recommended us a lot of places to visit and to go for food, one night we went to restaurant by the grand canal and it was the best gnocchi scampi we tried.
We would return to this hotel, everything was good and made our stay comfortable.

We stayed at Hotel Firenze for 5 nights while we were in town to see the Biennale. The hotel is very centrally located, steps from San Marco. This was a good loction for us because we could walk about 20 minutes to the Arsenale where the Biennale is held. When we arrived, the front desk staff gave us a map of Venice, tons of recommendations and encouraged us to visit other neighborhoods to get a taste of the real Venice, describing the area around the hotel as "Las Vegas." Restaurant recommendations were excellent. Do not miss the cuttlefish (seppia) with polenta, you cannot get this anywhere else in the world. Breakfast was delicious, nice little breakfast room. Our room with a terrace was small, but comfortable. I really like this hotel. That said, the neighborhood is wildly touristic, luxury shops, not really a neighborhood at all, and it is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to other neighborhoods with good food and more atmosphere. It was perfect for us because it is so central to transit and we love walking.

Arriving in the evening it was quite difficult to find the hotel as it sits in it's own little courtyard with only the name engraved in the pavement to indicate that you have arrived. The concierge greeted us warmly and offered to show us on a map the best places to see during our brief (three day) visit. A lift took us to the second floor and our room, fairly small but beautifully clean and well equipped missing only tea & coffee making facilities which fortunately we had brought with us. Not a great view from the window, just the "Louis Viton" shop opposite but this was made up for by the view from the roof terrace. Breakfast is typical continental but with a good selection of cereal, cold meats, yoghurt and a selection of bread rolls & croissants; plus tea and very good coffee. Being just 100 metres from San Marco the hotel is ideal placed in central Venice.

Excellent location right next to St Marks square with easy water bus or water taxi links.

The staff who could speak perfect English (my Italian is not good) were superb and nothing was too much trouble including advice on where to visit or eat in Venice

Our room on the second floor was very clean if a little small with limited storage and not brilliant sound proofing but apart from that it suited our short 3 night stay perfectly. Cleaner came in every day and someone tapped on the door from management a couple of times to make sure we were happy.

The breakfast was very continental but once again not a problem for us as there was cereal and English tea so we were happy.

November temps are in mid to upper 50's so I would doubt the terrace is open. I recommend emailing the hotel to ask.

Definitely travel on the vaporetto to San Marco. Take the number 2 as its quicker than number 1. Has fewer stops. Hotel 250m away from vaporetto stop.

Is the water taxi expensive? Do they try to rip you off like in Rome?
Answer from firenzevenezia
The Vaporetto (public service) prices are reasonable as are the public waterbuses shuttles from the airport and there are plenty of routes and pricing options. Private transfer services can be easily organized online with local agencies (i.ex. Bucintoro and Alba travel). Just require the pricelist to your concierge.

Yes, the water taxi will take you wherever you want to go. It is a short walking distance from the hotel and they will call and arrange it for you. Just give them enough time to do it. The water taxis are not cheap, but it’s better than using the public boat transportation. Make sure you ask the prices at the hotel desk. Have a great trip.

Hello: It is very easy to take the vaporetto from the airport and convenient if your hotel is close by the vaporetto stations. Vaporetto is the regular seabus it is about 7 euros one way. Water Taxi will be a lot more expensive close to 100 euros.
