Just returned from a trip to Montreal visiting family. The Sofitel staff went out of their way to ensure masks were worn, hands were sanitized and protocols were followed. Room was clean, spacial and super comfy bed! It's in the best location if you want to be in Downtown Montreal, around the corner from St. Catherine shopping and Crescent Street restaurants (both streets are blocked off to cars). I even walked to St. Laurent street and great Mount Royal hike. Have a drink at the end of the day on their outdoor patio- a perfect location to catch up with old friends! Rest assured, you will enjoy your visit and feel safe at the Sofitel!

Have just spent a week here and it was a wonderful stay in all aspects. The most comfortable bed, a large desk and decent chair for working, and room spacious. The main light switch turned everything off without requiring a degree to figure out how. A little bench near door was perfect for door card, gloves etc. A good bathroom too. Very clean and temperature not too hot - cannot stand over heated hotel rooms. The restaurant and bar were great. Lovely staff and food delicious. Not over priced either. Concierge very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Montreal.

As an Accor Diamond member, I have stayed here almost every time I visit Montréal, this visit being my most recent - probably around 10 stays to date.
The modern and fashionable foyer and the fantastic food, wine, and service (though rather pricey) Renoir restaurant are quite fitting with or indeed better than what one expects of a Sofitel.
The location is good with some excellent restaurants nearby, the 24 bus stop just outside and the Peel metro less than a block away. Catching the 747 bus to the airport can require a bit of a short hike, but still convenient.
The rooms are well appointed and decent in size but are beginning to date. The bathtubs and furniture have scrapes and marks through years of use. In terms of Sofitels worldwide, I would rate the rooms in the lower half of my expectations, though it can probably still wait a few years before I would say it needs a refresh.
However, the small size of the bar, the proximity of the tables to each other, and the lack of a club lounge means that it can be difficult for business or other meetings.
I would describe the staff in all areas as attentive and professional - though there have been times of frustration. In a visit in November 2021, when I asked concierge if there is a laundry service nearby, he suggested I use Google. On this visit in November 2022, I arrived late in the evening and when told I have debit cards and don’t use credit cards, I was told by the reception staff (not mentioning his name here) that it’s hotel rules to take CAD 100 per night deposit and for the minibar and movies to be switched off. When I said I have always only used debit cards and never had those insulting conditions before, he said that he was “just applying the rules”, and that these conditions are what is required unless “more deposit is given” (whatever that means). When I pointed out that this is quite insulting, he said with a smirk that he had worked there for 13 years and done hundreds of check-ins so he is not insulting, and turned to step away.
Overall, I can recommend this hotel highly, but if you are checking in after 2230 or hope to have business meetings at your hotel, consider staying elsewhere.

I had a good stay at the Sofitel Montréal but the checkout left me with a bad after taste. I hadn't seen my bill before checking out and had I not requested a printed copy of the bill I would have never seen it since it was never emailed to me.
When I saw the bill and realized I was charged about 150$ extra per night on the nightly rate, I told the front desk staff about the error and showed the reservation rate I had on my phone. Her explanation was that my bill was higher then expected because of the restaurant charges (which btw was average at best). I was furious by that stupid explanation.
I had to get to the airport shortly so didn't have more time to argue about it and considering explanations I was given I decided to leave the matter as is. I got an apologize voicemail the next day saying there was a mistake and that I would be credited about 350$ to my credit card.
There is a 15$ "Urban Experience Fee" per night charge. I really wonder what that is since there is no pool or other facilities - actually there wasn't even housekeeping so I don't think 15$ a night is justified at all.
In any case, the hotel is good but the billing is not transparent to say the least.

I can’t say enough nice things about our three day stay at the Sofitel. The public spaces were so elegantly appointed as was our room, and their level of service was so high. Due to COVID, a lot of hotel chains are not providing housekeeping services, unless it is requested. The Sofitel provides housekeeping, and it is completed in a timely fashion. We appreciated the water placed in our room, and they were so gracious about providing a refrigerator for medical needs. We had pre paid for breakfast, and the food was freshly prepared. There were no eggs sitting for a long time on a buffet, and the breakfasts were varied and delicious. Finally, I want to give a special shout out to Nancy, one of the concierges. She went out of her way to ensure that we had a wonderful stay in Montreal. Kudos to Samuel, another concierge as well who helped us with dinner reservations. I highly recommend staying at the Sofitel if you are ever in Montreal.

Here now for an overnight stay with my husband, son and dog, en route to Quebec City. The facade looks like an office building unfortunately but once the uniformed valets take care of your car and you enter the modern lobby, you know you’re in a very nice hotel. Check in was swift and efficient. Staff was friendly, courteous and very responsive. They were also welcoming to our bichon frisée. Unlike other hotels that delegate pet families to dark lower floors, we were on a high floor. They provided a comfy bed and bowls for Hopia. Humans got comfortable beds too btw! Love the spacious black marble bathroom. All in all, a great stay.

Considering the uncertainty of our time I felt comfortable staying at the Sofitel in Montreal. They upheld all protocols and ensured that no one had been in our room for a minimum of 48 Hours. From the time we were greeted to the time we left we felt at ease in the hotel and with the facilities that were open.

This hotel is welcoming, in a fantastic location, and spotlessly clean.
I was impressed by the polite service from everyone, including bellboys, front desk, concierge, bar staff — everyone we met was warm and helpful.
I was in a Luxury Room with City View. The room was very spacious, had plenty of cupboard and drawer space, had a large bathroom, and an incredible view. The bed was very comfortable — the pillows were not. I should have asked for a softer pillow as they were all very hard.
I really appreciated the opportunity to have guaranteed late check out for a fee of $150 (at time of reservation); this made it much easier with a night time flight.
The room was very clean, but we were two people and each day we ran out of shampoo and shower gel. I think that it’s reasonable to leave some extra in each room so there is enough each day.
My biggest disappointment was with the restaurant. I had breakfast there one day, and the eggs were served cold and when I opened the jar of peanut butter, it had been used by a previous diner. The same thing happened when I had food at the bar — some of the butter was clearly being re-served, since half a piece was missing.
Overall, I will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it highly. Some attention to the food & beverage service would go a way to making it a near-perfect stay.

We booked this on a third party and got a fantastic deal. The first room we got was a corner room and really tiny so I requested to the staff to change rooms and they were super super nice. We switched rooms and it was amazing! Beautiful king sized bed. The location of the hotel is amazing it backs up to the most beautiful hiking/ nature part of Montreal. We ordered room service and the food was delicious. We would 100% come back to this hotel.

The Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile is a five star property located next to McGill University and conveniently located with respect to shopping, dining, and other Montreal attractions (like the McCord Museum and the Fine Arts Museum). The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and well designed. The service is also excellent. We are very grateful for the front desk staff, who took great initiative during our stay to ensure that a package we left for a courier was properly picked up. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit.

Come to think of it, I don't believe there was because I ordered ice to cool a few beers for myself. The ice machines on each floor were out of service.
