Getting there
Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed for one night, on our way home from the airport. I wish we could have stayed longer! Our room was gorgeous, beautifully decorated, and very clean. The bed and pillows were extra comfortable. I’m a pillow snob and I loved them! You could definitely hear the hustle and bustle of the street - it doesn’t bother me, but it might some. If you don’t like noise, Best not to stay right downtown. You can’t beat the location, everything is absolutely in walking distance - restaurants, shopping, pubs, cafes, etc. I could have stayed all week! Easy self park lot two doors down.

We stumbled upon this hotel when we were unexpectedly laid over in Montreal for the night and boy are we glad we did! It's such a cool place, the rooms are so unique and the beds are so comfortable. Not only that, but they have very tasty coffee available in the rooms and drop off some delicious pastries outside your door in the morning. The location was fabulous and the staff we met were all very friendly and accommodating.

Staff was pretty nice and helpful. The room was as shown in the pictures. However I would say that this is not a 4-star service hotel. I decided to book this hotel based on the reviews and the fact that breakfast was included. It is misleading to say that breakfast is included. We got a box of pastries delivered to the room in a box in the morning (4 pastries for three people). The restaurant at the hotel was closed during our stay. Gym is pretty small with only two static bikes. The cost is too expensive for the service that you get.

Hotel Chez Swann helped make our trip to Montreal memorable. We received daily croissants that were so tasty to have in bed. Staff was very friendly and informative - giving us free water bottles whenever we requested (even face masks when we forgot ours in our hotel room). The hotel is close to the green line and different bus routes, (don't forget Mount Royale is just a convenient 15 minute walk away). Be sure to book your next stay with Hotel Chez Swann!

Pretty interesting hotel. Located near the downtown area of Montreal, you can easily walk to the old town or to Mont Royal. And it's in a neighborhood with plenty of cafés, restaurants, shops and things to visit. The staff was really nice (we had an early checkout the next day, and the guy at the reception allowed us to grab some breakfast to go even tho it was 1 hour before breakfast opened.) The room was comfortable, a bit on the funky side (very vibrant colors, weird layout, and the shower has a glass wall that you can see from the bed area haha) but in a good way, and clean. I would definitely come back there if I go back to Montreal. (and it's within walking distance of the Gare Centrale too, and you can take the 747 bus from the airport that leaves you a few blocks away, which is very convenient)

I had a terrible experience with one of the Hôtel associates named Maxemelean who sits at the front desk on Tuesdays. He was extremely rude and doesn’t know how to treat the customers. There was no microwave in the room at the hotel. Every hotel in the world including USA and Canada I have ever lived in make sure to provide or let me use a microwave at the reception or back room or restaurant. Other colleagues of Max were very nice and helpful with everything. But this person changed my opinion about the hotel staff completely. He not only refused for me to use the microwave in the common room, refused to do it for me, and asked me to walk outside in -16 degrees centigrade temperature to a next door restaurant which was not even affiliated with the hotel to heat my food order. So, basically he think a restaurant I didn’t eat in or stay with would be happy to help, but the hotel I was staying in for the last three days was not willing to let me use their microwave at the back of the front desk. This has never happened to me in any other hotel ever in life. Most hotel staff try to go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. I am obviously never going to stay in this hotel or any other hotel chains this hotel owns ever again all thanks to Mr Max.

This hotel was clean and had a very friendly and welcoming staff. Pod coffee in the room. Well located on Drummond near de Maisonneuve. Our room had a skylight
The highlight of this room is the massive shower! It’s the width of the whole room and has a glass wall that opens to the room. Very fun!

Great location and nice staff but towels and bed linens were old, ratty, and several had stains. Concierge quickly replaced them but it was surprising a hotel would continue to use them. The property clearly needs to invest in new towels and linens. Breakfast is continental but fine.

The location was great. The Hotel itself was so/so. The rooms felt clean and were large, but nothing special about the hotel itself and truly a rooms only operation. The big negative for us was we had a two drunk people walk into our room at 3am. The staff was unresponsive when we told them and they were never able to tell us how they had access. It was terrifying for my wife and I, and made us feel very unsafe the next night.

Hi,
There is parking on the street, but we always park in a parking garage about a minute down the street at a reduced rate. It was the cheapest we have ever paid.
We never take the car out the metro is a short walk away gets you almost everywhere and the Montreal info center is right near by, and you can catch a bus to almost everyplace. I come from a rural town without any public transport and we found it wonderful no stress, fun way to enjoy this wonderful city.
There are more places to choose from in the Montreal area.
