This 34 unit motel is located on Highway 17 East (Trunk Rd) near the city limits and just before the new Trans Canada bypass. The motel features various room configurations such as extended stay apartments, kitchenette units and standard guest rooms. We offer daily, weekly and monthly accommodation.

AC did not work. No screen on windows, or locks either. Tv worked but only one fuzzy channel. Door had no deadbolt or chain. Musty smell of cigarettes and what looked like mold around the tub base. $101 for a double is outrageous and frankly insulting. Arrived late in the evening, kids needed sleep, others where booked or we would have left. Concerns about the room where brought to the managers in the morning and was told to go elsewhere next time. The OPP were on the scene once to arrest a guy across the way. I didn't sleep much to keep an eye on our vehicle and the door with its pathetic knob locking handle. My wife wanted to sleep in the pickup. No joke. Do not stay here.

Checked in with family around 10:30 pm,, walls where paper thin. For 2 hr's all I heard was an arguing couple next door. Complained to the office 3 times about the noise, situation didn't change. We decided to leave with after the 3rd complaint. I went to the office to ask for a refund. Manager pulls aside a plastic plant that was hiding a printed sign that said no refunds. They knew the situation and they where unwilling to come to any type of compromise or refund. We just left, Shady Rest Motel is truly a shady motel.

There was a bloody scab on One bed and a bunch of hair on the other bed it smelled bad, musky and mildew then I wanted a refund and they refused to give me a refund instead she sent us to another room and there was pubic hairs on the bed and cock roaches in there I was out of there like a bat out of hell I didn't want to try and get my money back I took the loss but please do not stay there even if it is a last resort ... never going back to this place again.

The room was a dive. The tub was disgusting so no shower here. There was only a part roll of toilet paper that was so thin you can use your imagination on that! :( The male person next door was constantly opening and shutting his door at all hours which lead me to believe either a dealer or a heavy user. The ceiling was so warped you were not sure if it was going to come down and if you plugged in our tassimo all the lights and the TV were flickering possible electrical issue the door frame was missing,. Will NEVER stay here again

My girlfriend and I spent a night here after driving for many hours. The building itself looked pretty bad but we were exhausted. The room was disgusting. The smell of stale cigarettes was constant. After inspecting the room we found urine on the wall. The shower was weak and spiders were all over. There was a creepy back room which had a window and lock on the outside. Opening the door led to a forest behind the motel. Perfect for late night break inns (pun). In the night I heard someone opening a door and I thought it was someone breaking in. However it was just the paper thin walls. Never go here.

I left a previous review about my husband's experience at this motel. He tried to go back again to get his deposit back and the woman said she would not give him his deposit back because I had shared my review of the motel already. There were even hairs in the towels and on the toilet and tub. There was a blood spot on one of the towels. She had inspected the room when he showed her and was picking the hairs off the bed. Then told him there were no hairs. Please don't stay there. They should not be in business especially after seeing other people's reviews. I hope they will get inspected without notice. They were also very rude and uncooperative. The woman did not care.

My husband booked a room here tonight and it was absolutely disgusting. Long black hair all over the pillows. The floors were dirty. They locked the door on him after he asked for a refund. They did refund the room price but not the deposit of $50! Don’t waste your time or money! Very rude people!

Very dirty rooms. Bed has no mattress cover. Sheets and towels are dirty. Wifi does not work. Ceiling tiles stained and not secured, bathroom sink loose, tissues and garbage on bathroom floor. Do not stay here. This was the worst motel we have stayed in.

Terrible place to stay. A lot of money for a terrible motel room. It was dirty, ugly and unkept. Used soap was left in the shower from many days gone by. The kitchenette thing was scary. It smelled bad and was just generally unkept. The owners should be ashamed to charge the prices they do for this sad, depressing and scary place. Do not stay here. If everything else if full, just keep driving. It doesn't deserve a 1 rating, it's worse than that.

Did the job for quick nap after midnight. Room was very dated and the bathroom was barely passable.. If it were not for the 1am check-in after a 8 hour drive, I'd slept in my car. The price for the room was pricey compared to what you get out of it.
