Detailed Reviews
Pool under repairs, but looked like they were stalled on it. Breakfast was good, staff were very accommodating. Rooms were clean & beds comfortable. We needed a room change to see our motorcycles from our room though they couldn't help us the first night they did the second nite. If this is ever a concern request a room on ground floor that opens to parking lot. This worked perfectly for us.

At first I was a tad worried and skeptical. Lobby had an odd smell and front doors locked. Sketchy neighborhood. Room was good though. Everything worked and was OK clean. Couch wasn't something I'd sit on. Overall for the price it was a good night's sleep.

I just came back from a convention in Brandon and seeing as pretty much every hotel was booked, we found this hotel and booked it. When I booked online, I specifically booked 2 Queen beds. When we checked into the Hotel, we were told there were absolutely no double queen bed rooms. Just twin rooms. Massive disappointment right there. The room itself was DIRTY!!!!!! Dust everywhere, stained furniture, old curtain and crumbs (potato chip) everywhere!!! Like seriously?! It's as though they didn't even vacuum. We also noticed that there was blood on the ceiling (from a bug possibly? I hope...) and BLOOD ON THE SHEETS! We called front desk, and I will say this, the lovely blonde reception lady was wonderful! She rushed to get us new sheets, apologized profusely and said she would speak with housekeeping. Aside from the blood on the bed, the mattresses were brand new, so we actually did manage to get a pretty decent sleep. The carpets were dirty and stained and just well gross. This place needs NEW HOUSEKEEPING!!!! It has the potential to be a lovely hotel if it was properly maintained. Next time we are in Brandon, we will be staying in a better hotel. Invest the few dollars more in a better hotel. This one was just too filthy.

Upon entering room, I could tell beds were quickly made, due to placement of pillows, how the sheets were turned down and the fitted sheets were not completely on. Carpet filthy, filthy, toilet had hair on seat, blood on side table and on wall above bed. Did bedbug check and found food crumbs on box spring. How do food crumbs get on box spring? Furniture full of dust that can be seen from distance. No lid on toilet, bathroom fan in ceiling above bath was half off, metal cover on side of sink for tissue kept falling off. Did door frame dust check and from my experience the amount of dirt found there must be at least 3 years worth. Had to pine sol down entire room and then air it out. Thank goodness we only came back to room for sleeping. Would never stay there again…never!Even if a hotel is run down and dated, the one thing a person values is cleanliness. I recommend that you hire people who can clean.
On the up side the two staff members we encountered upon check in and check out were friendly.

This is one of the shabbiest, run-down, and disgusting motels in which we have stayed in six years of travelling coast to coast. While it may have been reasonably clean, it was hard to know for sure with furniture, walls, fittings and carpets being so beaten up. Furniture should have been replaced decades ago. It's price point should have been considerably lower and management should muster some self respect and give this place a face lift.

This is a disgusting place. please do not let family members or friends stay here - I stayed there for a night and there were really odd goings on; some sort of prostitution ring or operation operating out of one of the back smoking rooms and horrible smoke smell everywhere. The management do not seem to care; they just want to milk the hotel for all the money they can get out of it.

I've stayed in Mansion of Turtle Creek, Ritz-Carlton, Econolodge and others. When reading reviews I often think reviewers are not considering where they are and what they are paying. The Colonial Inn was not the lowest priced room in Brandon but the lower priced places were older motels with outside doors. This is not a four star hotel but it is clean and convenient to the Keystone Center. The staff was very friendly, did their job well. The room was small as was the ac but all we really did was sleep in the room. If you want an inexpensive place to stay in Brandon, this is it. If you want 4 star you can pay triple or more and stay across the street.

We arrived into town late in the evening, and places were filled up, so this is where we stayed for one night, on our trip across Canada. It is not new, and could be cleaner. The breakfast was not good. The price is low. You can park where you can keep an eye on your car.

The room was very outdated but it was clean and inexpensive and we stayed there on our drive out to Ontario and then again on our way back.
The toilet in the bathroom had no lid, just a seat which I thought was really weird and kinda gross. But it was clean at least. We had stayed at a Days Inn before this and paid $150 and this room was way better quality. Even better water pressure!
Did a bed bug check and it was clear. A cheap place to sleep at the end of a 13 hour day of driving and we were out by 6am again the next morning and the staff was always friendly, even at that hour.
