Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

The Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites is celebrated for its immaculate cleanliness and prime location that offers easy access to downtown attractions. While guests appreciate the friendly service and the comfortable, homely feel of the rooms, opinions on the hotel's value are divided; some regard it as reasonably priced, yet others are critical of outdated amenities. Although the rooms are generally found to be clean and well-equipped, there are occasional concerns about noise and a need for modernization in decor.

We had to make a necessary trip down island to Victoria last Friday and stayed one night. The "early days" pricing was appreciated as well as the quality and cleanliness of the room (a one bedroom corner king suite with kitchen). The lobby was bright and cheerful and the staff very engaging. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel seemed to be doing everything right to keep visitors and staff safe and feel welcome. This is our go to hotel when we stay in downtown Victoria.

I've repeatedly stayed at the Chateau Victoria for it provides pet-friendly rooms in a quiet and convenient location in downtown Victoria. The staff are friendly, the rooms are pleasant, and the price is fair. Needing to travel during Covid-19 restrictions, the Chateau incorporated all the recommended changes at check in/check out and during our stay that we felt safe and comfortable. Thank you.

I am sure this stay was very different from the others but I am glad to see we were able to keep our friendly attitude while respecting new health and safety protocols. We just recently stayed here as it was our anniversary and we wanted a night out downtown (even though we live in Victoria). The staff was warm and welcoming from start to finish and we were unexpectedly upgraded to an amazing 16th floor suite after we let the staff know it was our anniversary. The common areas and room were tastefully updated and the location is hard to beat as it’s just down the street from the parliament building and all the attractions Victoria has downtown. For our much needed mini vacation the Hotel was a perfect fit and we would come back again should we want another worry free accommodation downtown.

Excellent location and fantastic Staff.
Covid Protocols in place that made exchange of linens/towels safe and easy.
Restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday, but BC has a 10.00 pm alcohol last call and 11.00 pm close just put in place this last week.
The hotel is located central to everything and easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions.
We booked through Hotels.com (Would prefer to book direct but prices dictate)
The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here on my next visit to Victoria.

Booked a stay in September as part of a BC Ferries vacation package. The packages offer great value and the ferry voyage is included in the cost as well. Rooms are fairly comfortable and they are quiet as well since it's not located on a busy street but the location is brilliant and only about 5 minutes walk to most places of interest. Staff are professional and friendly as well.

Driving wise, there is plenty of parking although they do charge a nominal daily rate for it. It's easy to get to as it lies in between Douglas and Blanshard which are the two major highways leading out of town. Would definitely recommend it.

Cleaning protocols were explained clearly, with options for service that ensured social distancing was maintained. I appreciated their attention to detail and their obvious dedication.

Usually a good hotel, but when you claim to be making extra efforts to ensure clean and sanitized environments, it was not reassuring to find urine behind the toilet and a dried bandage wrapped on the phone line. We purchased cleaning products and re-cleaned the entire room as best we could. Not a great stay as in years past.

Thank you Jchapman55 for your review and for choosing the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites during your visits to Victoria. The responses we receive from our guests are extremely valuable especially when we failed to do something right. We have been getting very high marks for our extra efforts to clean but it only takes one employee to miss something and to compromise your trust. Perhaps you can reach out to me off line and provide your room number and date of your stay. I can assure you I will do our best to correct this oversight. Thank you again for your honest feedback and I hope to hear from you. My email is mpaul@chateauvictoria.com Kindest Regards, Mark Paul

Staying close to home we were planning a getaway to Victoria. It's always challenging to find accommodation for a family of 5 and the Chateau Victoria offered us a one bedroom suite at an excellent rate. It included parking and a late checkout. The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and had all the needed amenities, including a fridge, toaster and some kitchen ware. The pool and hot tub were a hit with the kids and the hotel ensured that an occupation limit was observed. Service was attentive, very welcoming and efficient. The only downside was the construction happening right next door as we were woken up at 7am every morning. But we will be back for sure.

I love your review title. Many thanks for the kind review. We have always been proud to be a local family business for families and visitors from far and wide so it is nice to know we still hold true to locals in this challenging time. The nosiest part of that construction close to should subside in about a month but we don't have any control or say. We do look forward to your return.

We stayed here for a few-day getaway from Vancouver. The location is great as we were able to walk from the hotel to almost everywhere in central Victoria. We stayed in a one bedroom suite - so our daughter had her own space, and the suite itself was spacious, clean, and bright. Unfortunately with Covid the restaurant wasn't open the first few days of the week but we found lots of nice places to eat outside the hotel. Again with Covid, daily room service was not automatically provided but the hotel provided service as needed with proper social distancing. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We would stay here again.

Hotel very impressive when first arrive. Staff are always happy and very helpful. The comment is they bearing in mind you are paying £200 per night plus $36 for breakfast your room is not attended every day and you have to make your own bed unless you are staying more than 5 days then they will service your room once in this period. I thought this was really poor

Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear your interactions with our team was pleasant and you enjoyed the hotel in general. We are sorry daily housekeeping service has not yet returned. Staffing continues to be an issue throughout our industry and this is not likley to return for months and possibly years for midlevel hotels in our part of the world. Please know that a call to the front desk with requests for replacement towels, or amenities is still available to all guests.

Thanks for your question Robin! Yes, all of our suites have balconies, although no furniture (with exception to 2 of our Executive Penthouses which have fire tables and lounge seating). Your view will completely depend on what side of the building you are allocated to - even those that don't face the Inner Harbour side still benefit from views of Victoria's gorgeous downtown cityscape with mountainous backdrops. Our suites are located on the 5th floor to the 15th floor. We hope to see you soon!

Thanks for another great question Robin! Guests who pay for parking are indeed guaranteed a spot onsite - during high volume periods, our valet will find a "sneaky spot" for guests experiencing difficulties at no extra charge. It is EXTREMELY rare for us to not be able accommodate parking - we certainly would not charge you should we not be able to host your vehicle on site. Yes, you can certainly drop your luggage in ahead of time - luggage is tagged and stored securely in our locked bellman's closet until check-in.
