The Oasis Hotel Waikik garners praise for its prime location and friendly service, with many guests appreciating the proximity to beaches and shops alongside the warm hospitality of the staff. While the complimentary breakfast and tranquil koi pond add to the hotel's charm, some visitors feel the decor is in need of rejuvenation and note the pool's size as underwhelming. Spacious rooms are acknowledged, yet the feedback on their condition and noise levels is mixed, as is the sentiment on the hotel's overall value.

Due to an early morning flight arrival we got to the hotel about 8.30am and due to a long tiring flight we just needed a room to shower and rest. The receptionist wasnt very helpful she just says checkin time at 3 and I cant promise anything early although a NOTE was stated on our accomodation booking due to an early arrival the hotel will try for an early checkin. We waited around the lobby area very exhausted. We went for a walk around the city and kept coming back and forth to the reception if by any luck we can get checked in like 11 or midday. The receptionist (I forgot her name) she did not acknowledge us at all during the numerous times we popped about around the reception area. She didnt have the decency to at least offer us a snack or water from the lobby as we were very tired after a long flight. Cases like these the front office or especially the receptionist shouldve prioritised our room. Hotel has to make guests happy and go out of their way to attend guests needs in every possible way. She could see we were exhausted and kept going out and coming back again and sitting around the lobby waiting. Never did she come to update us on our room and ask how we are etc. Im thinking of our elderly folks what if this was the case with them. Will she neglect them the same as she did to us. Finally we got checked in after 3 when we came back from lunch. Room was ok but an old musty smell lingered throughout our stay. Housekeeping staff were awesome and cleaning standards superb. The other downfall to our stay was the breakfast. No real hot food for breakfast. Like eggs and spaghetti or eggs and bacon. The dusted donuts they had couldve been replaced with cream donuts or savouries on other days. Also the breakfast was always full and not enough space to accommodate the guests. Guests had to sit round the pool area or near the reception area due to lack of tables and chairs. This is the first hotel I have stayed at that breakfast is only 2 hours. Very shocking!!! At least 6 to 10am or 7 to 10am. Guests want to sleep in but have to attend breakfast as their aware its only for 2 hours and want to make their moneys worth. The breakfast staff need re training again in all areas. There must be a staff waiting on the guests and clearing dirty plates. Most of the time dirty plates are not cleared for 10minutes or more on a table. Very poor service.
A tremendous mahalo to the housekeeping staff and also to the pm shift receptionist the small short european female and the asian guy who were always helpful and politeful.

Aloha Bluesacred, First I would like to give my apologizes for the difficulties you experienced during you stay. As noted on your reservation check in time is at 3pm and early check in is subject to availably, since check out is at 12pm we must allow time for housekeeping to get to the rooms and prepare them for our arriving guest. I can confidently say that our front desk ask housekeeping to rush any rooms with early check in request. In the event a room is not ready early we do offer free luggage storage and water in the lobby although we do not have snacks other then our vending machines. I am very disappointed to hear our breakfast did not meet or exceed your expectations, although your feedback does help us in better serving guest in the future and this has been past on to our housekeeping manager for review. Thank you for the compliments to our PM staff and Housekeeping. Despite the above all the management and staff hope you and your family were able to take home amazing memories. Mahalo, Aqua Oasis

My daughter and I stayed at Aqua Oasis in July 2020 to enjoy our 1st staycation of this year. Due to The global pandemic, I couldn’t take my daughter to Japan during summer so we decided to get away from our ordinary life in Kailua, Oahu for 2 nights and 3 days.

As my daughter loves taking a bath, I specially looked for a hotel with a big tub and this hotel really delivered! My daughter was so excited that she took a bath 3 times on the 1st day, twice on the 2nd day, and once at the last day!

The hotel interior may not be the most modern, but for the price we paid, it was so spacious that it gave us ample room to do yoga and my daughter to play on the floor spreading all her toys we brought.

The hotel location is also perfect that it was close enough to all the shops we wanted to go such as the International Market Place and Sephora.

Lastly, the staffs we encountered were so helpful and thoughtful that they let us “super early check-in” at 9:30am or so that we could fully enjoy the hotel amenities!

We’ll definitely stay here again in the future!

The reason why we chose this hotel was the full kitchen which is hard to come by in Waikiki. It did not disappoint, though the framing around the kitchen window was old/stained. The furniture in the room was also more dated than the pictures suggested, but I think this is hotel is perfect for a family looking for a great budget hotel in walking distance to the beach. Get a room on higher levels (7th or 8th floor), facing the beach and away from the elevator - our room was next to the elevator and we did hear the elevator's motor going day and night. Our large patio with nice view towards the beach was a nice surprise. All of the hotel staff is extremely friendly, check in and check out went really smooth and all of our requests were attended to quickly. Would stay again!

We stayed 3 nights at the Aqua Oasis hotel in Waikiki.

The location was great and the price was way less than nearby hotels. There is an amenity fee, which is described quite well at the start of this listing. All hotels in Waikiki (in Hawaii?) charge an amenity fee, so this is not a gotcha.

We were in room 911 (easy to remember). It had a king bed, TV, A/C, table and 2 chairs, desk and chair, electronic safe, coffee maker, and a small fridge with a freezer compartment. There was a balcony with a table and 2 chairs.

The bathroom had a big tub and shower.

We arrived by car, early, and asked if they could hold our bags until check-in, so we could go sightseeing without worrying about luggage in the car. Sure, no problem. The man at the curb also suggested alternate parking, when I didn't want to valet park the car. He showed me the metered parking lot behind the hotel, but cautioned that it was not fenced in, and could be full.

We used this lot, which cost (max) $25 for 24 hours, or $15 from 5 PM to 6 AM. Since we were gone during the day, we used the latter fee. Since street (metered) parking was free for 2 hours with a handicap permit (which we had), the effort to move the car at 6 AM was worth it.

The breakfast would run out of things and could be very crowded, especially during rush hour, so plan ahead. We did enjoy the daily newspaper, and our friends (who are smokers, and arrived the day after us) really enjoyed the fish pond smoking area. I even tried the small hotel pool one day.

There is a restaurant (can't remember the name) which is directly accessible from the lobby area.

The staff was always friendly, and we enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again.

My husband and I had a staycation here for one night. I booked the room through a travel site and not with the hotel directly. I arrived alone before my husband because he was still working. When I walked in there were two men standing at the front desk talking, none of them greeted me, no “hello” or “welcome” nothing. As I was checking in the man at the front informed me that I would be charged $50. When I asked what it was for, he said it was a refundable security deposit and that “this information was given to you when you booked the room” however, I went back to the website and checked, it did not show that information.

The room was great for the price. Very comfortable and clean. The bath tub is pretty large and is very relaxing. Our mini fridge didn’t work, it was defrosted and filled with water, and there was an empty beer bottle on our balcony. The next morning we went to get breakfast, which wasn’t much. Cereal, juice, bagels, toast, oranges, muffins, and coffee were all that they had. We checked to see if the pool and sauna were open, they were not due to the pandemic.

While checking out, the woman at the front desk was way more helpful and kind. However, she informed me that I had to pay another fee of $28 before checking out. I asked what this fee was for now because I had no idea I’d be charged again. She said it was the amenity fee. I thought it was kind of odd because of the fact that all the amenities they usually offer were unavailable due to corona virus.

Overall my stay was enjoyable. I just wish they’d be more up front about all the fees you’ll be charged and when exactly they will charge you.

First, I booked this hotel with credit card points. I arrived at about 9:20 PM Hawaii Time (12:30 AM my time) and was tired. I paid in advance with points and when I arrived they charged me an additional $25+ fee per night which they claimed was for amenities (really to pay for breakfast); something they didn't tell me when I called ahead. Sauna and lobby bathrooms closed. I felt that they should have been more upfront about this fee as I was never told on the booking site or when I called the hotel in advance. It was either pay the additional fee or go somewhere else.

They have ~12 spaces for parking which they charge $40+/night (you leave, you loose). This caused me to have to spend 40 min. per night trying to find streetside parking. Anyone going to stay at this hotel be prepared to find parking along Ala Wai Blvd. They failed to partner with neighboring hotels to provide better accommodations for parking. There is another small lot behind the hotel, but it looks shady, low traffic, and is unattended; this small lot has about 14 stalls. Even if you wanted to stay in either the hotel lot or the lot behind the hotel, they were full most of the time due to limited parking availability. They also did not disclose in advance about this parking problem on their website.

The breakfast is outside under an awning; birds come and peck at the breakfast food and are present on the tables. I didn't mind the birds in the eating areas, but did mind the birds getting on the food serving table. While they did have free breakfast, it had muffins, oranges and pineapple, coffee, cereal, milk, and toast--better than a donut and Tang, but not a great breakfast as there was nothing hot (excluding coffee and toast), and definitely not worth an extra $25+/night. The cereal tasted stale and the oranges were hybrids between grapefruits/oranges and tasted bitter and bland.

The rooms are older and worn out and reflective of 1960's/1970's construction. The carpet is old and dated, the bathroom was kind of yellowish tub and walls. The rooms were small. I stayed on the 5th floor. It appears from reading the comments that the rooms with kitchenettes are newer and better serviced.

I am mostly mad about the parking and $25+/night fee not disclosed in advance. I called in advance and was not told about this. I tried to resolve this with the manager after the trip, but did not receive a call back.

Highly recommend that you get a COVID test before arriving in Hawaii (we did) AND upload it to the Hawaii state site to show a negative test. The hotel will check you upon arrival. If you don't upload the test, you MUST quarantine. This is not the hotel's fault, but it does make extra steps.

The good thing that I liked is that they took points and commend them for this.

This hotel is close to virtually everything you need in Waikiki. It is not the most up to date in terms of fixtures and finishes, and the restaurant breakfast option is so early we never used it, but our room was quiet (helped being high up and above the street) and we had all that we needed: there was an iron, mini fridge, wifi, cable tv, and there is a washer and dryer down in the main lobby area. I like that the shower / tub was the type where you can sit on the edge and just spray the sand off your feet without committing to a complete shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I thought the place was over priced for the hotel type, and I suspect this was related to the high tourism season, but it was one of the best deals we could find and it was serviceable.
If you have a car with you, make sure to talk to the staff about the parking options. Everything is pricey in central Waikiki so unless you want to move your car around regularly or park several block away and walk the rest, the easiest and most affordable option may be to have them validate your parking sticker at a nearby lot. It works out to be $20 daily with their validation, but definitely ask first as to how it works (we did not understand the first day we used the lot and ended up being too late to get validation the first day). The validation for the nearby lot is better than their valet option. You can find cheaper street parking options if you are willing to park some blocks away at the appropriate times, but we used the lot most days.

Aloha Miller! Mahalo nui loa for spending the time to write a very detailed review! We hope your review is helpful to other visitors who may want to stay with us! We are glad that you enjoyed our very convenient location, with convenient accommodations for a great value during the holiday season! We are sorry that our breakfast times did not line up with your schedule. We have our continental breakfast from 7 AM to 9 AM as a balanced time to be available for early risers as well as late enough for those who like to sleep in. We are glad we you were able to find parking options that worked for you. Yes, unfortunately parking in Waikiki is incredibly competitive and thus is expensive, hence why we are glad we were able to give you multiple options. Overall we hope you had an enjoyable time exploring Hawai’i from our hotel! We hope we can host your stay again in the future. Mahalo, and take care!

I was quite surprised by how great location and stay this was! I must say the staff are what make this hotel amazing. I wanted to especially shout out Mike the bellman. People like him are what make a hotel strive. He was hospitable and helpful. He even helped coordinate with the oncoming staff a ride for us to the airport in the morning. He saw we were four people kn a room and brought us extra towels with our bags up to the room. He knows to anticipate guest needs which is huge! I used to work in hospitality and people like Mike are who bring you back to the hotel. I can’t remember the name of the young lady who helped us at the desk. It was around 12:30 pm on 10/25/3021. She was very kind and super helpful!

Hotel rooms are very roomy and perfect to come to if you are traveling with friends. They also have a continental breakfast which makes it worth it to stay as well!

The location is great because you Can walk to the beach and you are near places to eat!

Check-in and check-out were simple and easy. Beach towels and chairs are provided upon request. Rooms are clean. They’re dated but well maintained. Although we didn’t eat the breakfast (too busy trying to eat around as much as possible) it included cereal, bagels, fruit, coffee, and tea. I would stay here again. Location is great! Close to everything! Mattress was nicely firm and comfortable. If I were to have one complaint, it would be the pillows. That’s it! I would definitely recommend! $25/night amenity fees - they have to pay their workers, you know. I can see that they all work very hard. Valet was $35/night with in and out access. Staff was phenomenal. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had no issues with contacting the front desk when calling for our car. All questions were answered with care. Noise from the bar, that others have mentioned wasn’t really an issue for us. There is music that plays in the hallway that kind of provides white noise. Given all that was said, this was an incredible value to vacation in Hawaii!

Upon arriving we were greeted by Mr. Mike who diligently brought all 5 big suitcases and 4 big tote boxes up to the 8th floor. I was completely satisfied with the level of leadership by Evelyn the manager and her zero tolerance for patrons who lack common courtesy for the staff and other patrons. The cleaning staff where on point as well, trash, restock of coffee and the bathroom always had fresh towels.
While staying there for 2 months we took a mini stay-cation to AULANI Disney resort, needless to say I was glad to have chosen Aqua Oasis as my hotel while waiting for a home, thanks Aqua oasis!
