our room was in an old Mansion built in the 1800s just steps from the brewery and restaurant. the room included a jetted tub set in its own quaint alcove. A separate outside door led to a private parking area well off the street. Included in the price were a sampling of their house chocolates and a tasting board of beers (we left with a small bag of our favorites). The area is so pretty with ocean walks from the property. In the morning (very comfy bed) we had a very delicious first rate full breakfast which was included in the price. Staff were all very helpful, professional and friendly. This was a real find for us and we would not hesitate to recommend to others. We will definitely be returning to Spinnakers.

In the off season Spinnakers offers one room at an amazing $139 that includes the room, beer flights, chocolate truffles and a great breakfast in their restaurant. These extras are likely in the order of $30 if bought separately. I was doing a cycle trip from Vancouver to downtown Victora to visit family. I stayed in room #4 of the Heritage house. Spinnakers have 3 separate properties next to the brewpub. The Heritage house has 5 rooms. Most of the rooms are combinations of 2 rooms with a large tub. Room #4 is a smaller single room upstairs with double bed, one sitting chair, gas fire place, balcony (sitting for 2), and a bathroom with shower. I wouldn't hold a meeting there but for an overnight stay for a couple it is great. After I arrived I had a flight in the pub (very nice) and could walk into downtown on the harbour walk in 15 minutes. Breakfast was anything off their menu and was outstanding. The only reservation was no place to really secure my bike. You can lock it on a metal bike rack at the pub over night. Around the Heritage house there are wood posts outside some of the rooms that you can chain you bike to.

This is our 3rd time staying at Spinnakers, and it was wonderful, as always! A perfect 28th Anniversary treat for my husband & myself. We stayed in the Heritage House room #2 (we have previously stayed in HH room 1 as well as the bungalow). The room was quiet and cozy; very minimal sound transmission from beside or above. We really look forward to our next stay! Special shout-out to Ryan, who dealt with a check-in communication issue professionally and graciously : )

How can I explain this….? I took my service dog (I don’t think she is a dog) to this delightful Inn, guesthouses and restaurant. When I worked in the medical field many years ago, I had a lovely, overall experience dining here. This time was a short break for my girl and I, July 6, 2020 to July 12, 2020.
My memories are more profound this time as I remember far more about my trip staying here 6 nights. It was my initial intention to take advantage of their stay 6 nights and get the 7th one free. By very early Sunday morning we decided to wake up at 6am, pack a bit further on top of what I did the previous night and vacate back to home to the Tri-Cities area. We caught the 8am ferry which was only 25% full. The early bird gets the worm, though we still had a reservation for the 9.00am ferry from Schwartz Bay.
I have to be honest in saying ‘if you look for negatives you will find them.’ I look for positives and I found countless numbers of them at Spinnakers.
I booked the bungalow to spoil my girl & I. Whilst it was around $360 a night WITH taxes, we had a place to call home. A bungalow about 900 sq. ft with all the amenities: kitchen equipment to include stove, microwave, fridge and dishwasher with which provided the appropriate soap. There was ALWAYS parking on the grounds, right near the entrance to the bungalow. TV, shower, bath tub, pull out bed and one main bathroom.
Before I even arrived, the front desk girls had already factored in the cost per night for my service dog. I emailed them an official copy of my service dog’s ID. Otherwise, I believe it is $25 per night if you have a ‘normal’ dog. It is very common practice for proprietors to charge a nightly pet fee, so please take that into in action. When you are accompanied with your service dog you have to figure out that there may well be some significant medical issues with their owners.

This was a unique property, located on the side of the brewery/resturant. There was parking on the property, which was a plus! The units were large- separate kitchen and living room accomodations. We enjoyed how we could take the board walk to downtown within 20-30 minutes. If you didn't want to walk, there was a water taxi pick up spot about 5 minutes walk away. We also appreciated that you could purchase beers from their location and appreciated the convenience of having a resturant onsite as well (which was great). We would happily stay again.

We stayed in Room 2 of the Heritage House of Spinnakers, a ground floor room with a large bright bathroom that was probably an enclosed porch in the house's hayday. The bedroom was enclosed and would have been very warm in hotter weather, but a fan provided relief even last weekend. The room was quiet and had access to free parking at the back of the property. The room rate included breakfast at Spinnakers restaurant, and the food was delicious with generous portions. In this time of Covid, housekeeping was confusing, so French press coffee, which would have been a delight normally presented problems when the room was not refreshed. A small issue which was brought to the hosts attention. Delicious truffle chocolates and a flight of beer was an additional delight. We have recommended this accommodation to some friends already, as it provides good value and is a little off the beaten path, while having excellent walking access to the Galloping Goose trail and Victoria.

We found ourselves in Victoria between medical appointments...a harrowing day...one of us hooked up to electrodes the other waiting in the car (COVID restrictions). After checking in to our room (#20 in the Heritage House, we meandered over to the pub for our complimentary beer tasting with chocolates. Looking out over the harbour in the waning light of the late afternoon was so relaxing.
The room was spotless with their cleaning protocol posted. We loved the huge tub. The back door off the room gave us easy access to the car parked behind the house. Even had a little outdoor patio.
Dinner back in the pub was delicious...try the roasted veggie sandwich.
The distancing protocols make for less than "glamourous" ordering and table service, but we appreciated the thought that went into adapting systems so that we could enjoy a meal out.

My husband had lunch at Spinnakers on a Thursday, arriving just before noon.
There was a bit of a line up to get in and everyone had to show their proof of having the Covid 19 vaccine. All went smoothly and we were happy to be taken up the 2nd level (which had just opened) and seated at a table with a beautiful view of the ocean.
We decided to try some local craft beer and ordered our lunch. My husband was disappointed that you had to pay $2.00 for a slice of cheese and 2 slices of bacon, which brought the cost of the meal to $20. Anyway, while it was a bit sloppy it was a tasty "bacon cheesburger".
My Sockeye Salmon Lox on a house made bagel was okay. I thought it was a little light on the salmon and heavy on the dill & lemon cream cheese.
There is additional seating outdoors in the parking lot but if you can get a seat indoors with a view or on the patio with a view that would be the best way to enjoy your meal.
They also serve breakfast daily from 9-noon. We picked up an assortment of individual chocolates and some cheese as well, before we left from the little take out area.
Great place to stop for a bite or drink as you're out on the walking paths.

This note was sent to Spinnakers on August 18th 2020. To date the restaurant has not responded. This shows a lack of concern and responsibility towards their patrons and so I am sending this review to Trip advisor
I ordered the picnic box for two after reading this description....house made kielbasa, house smoked salmon, Natural Pastures farmhouse cheddar, Comox brie, Village Cheese amber ale, Lifecyles quince membrillo, house made pickles, grainy mustard, apple chutney, beer braised oyster dip, crostini, red fife baguette and then phoning to inquire if it was enough for two people. I was assured it was.
To start with the “picnic” was in a pizza box.....not an auspicious start....no napkins, no cutlery and to be honest I would have been better buying a pizza. The smoked salmon had no flavour and was the worst I’ve ever had. I’m not an oyster fan but my friend is and she couldn’t eat them. The first one she tried was gritty. The portions were ridiculous, one pickle, four tiny slices of baquette and three crustini, that barely held the measly four pieces of kielbasa. The only decent part of the picnic were the cheeses, however there wasnt much to put them on. This picnic is a complete rip-off and Spinnakers should be embarrassed serving it
Totally disgusted with this “ picnic” Erie Pentland

We stayed in the Heritage House for a one night stay before a family event. The bonus sample flight of brew and handmade chocolate was a nice touch, and the breakfast includes anything off the menu. WIFI was excellent (router right in the room). The location is great, free parking and right next to the waterfront walkway which has amazing views across the inner harbour and out to the JDF Strait.
