The Coral at Atlantis receives a range of feedback, with guests appreciating its prime location near Marina Village and attractions. However, some visitors have voiced concerns over noise disturbances and the need for updates in amenities and rooms. While opinions are split on the atmosphere and service—ranging from commendable to disappointing—many agree that the hotel's pricing feels steep considering the noted issues. Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, though not without occasional lapses in housekeeping.

We stayed for 5 nights & have been here several times before. Sadly we’re watching this place deteriorate. First time in coral but other guest shared similar experience in other areas of the compound. The room is supposed to be renovated but if so, poorly. The electric flashed on/off a few times & hot water was hit or miss. One of the queen beds was broken & made terrible noises each time my friend moved. The water park ran out of towels for guest for three days & no wristbands at any location caused us to have to continually keep showing our room key at checkpoints. The lazy river broke down so there was no enjoying that either. The cost of food was astronomical (we shared a burger/fries & had two drinks approx $45). Some of the staff were great but most were either unfriendly or just downright rude. The machines to cash out your tickets in the Casino hardly worked the 5 days we were there meaning we had to wait in line for the 4/5 cashiers on duty along with 20-50 other people each time. The ATM is set up to only allow a low amount of cash each time so you have to pay the ATM fee PLUS the 12% vat fee each time. The casino has very poor ventilation so it was as if a fog lay throughout & the cigars/cigarette smell was overwhelming. Low staff means hardly no drink service. No comps, free play, games, incentives & although between the two of us we spent a lot of money we were told nothing would be taken off in comps. Atlantis needs to step it up. Very disappointed. There is such great potential here but I think we may be looking at other places to visit if they don’t start refreshing their oasis & training the staff in customer relations. It’s too much money to spend in a shabby, rundown, unfriendly hotel.

We took our two boys, 5 and 3 to Atlantis over New Years. It was our first experience at the resort. First the positives: it never felt crowded, the weather was perfect, the service was friendly and expert in almost every case. The kids LOVED it, and because they had fun, we got to relax. However, the experience was more expensive than an all inclusive and the (adult) food was mediocre and ludicrously high priced! We did our best to explore cheaper, simpler options with some success but the price of the simplest appetizers were sky rocketed by 12% VAT tax plus another 15% mandatory gratuity on all food and drink. My best recommendation is to skip the meal plan, and stick with the coffee bars and the casual spots on the Marina (eg Frankie Gone Bananas and the brewery). The kids pool by the Coral and the Beach Towers is nicer and calmer than the water park, and the beach is clean and not crowded. We did not leave the resort nor pay for any of the big extras (Dolphins, sharks or rays) and kids still loved it.

We visited this hotel September 2019 in the middle of Hurricane Dorian. When we visited majority of the hotel was shut which was understandable. We really struggled with food on the resort as it was OVER priced for what you were given but also a lot of the restaurants were shut (even after the hurricane had gone.)
If you are staying at The Coral in Atlantis, you are pretty much in the best location of the whole resort. The pool is the best their too with a swim up bar.
The rooms were a little tired and not the cleanest but the beds were really comfy.
Before we took the trip we did think that there would more stuff to do around the resort but the waterpark was small (not as big or as good as the one in Dubai.)
Please make sure if you are visiting the Atlantis, Bahamas that you take a lot of spending money with you as you have to pay gratuity on food wherever you go in the Bahamas.
Overall, it was a good holiday but I wish I had researched about how expensive and also on the rooms

Hotel's Favourite
Well this trip put a positive on our past experience 30 years ago. We went to Nassau for our honeymoon, and did not like it! So... I mentioned to my husband we should take our kids and try it again at the Atlantis (which wasn't there in then).

After reading reviews, I decided which hotel to stay at on the Atlantis property, I picked the Coral due to proximity to many things (movies, Marina Village, marine life pools, etc., and thinking we wouldn't be in the room much. I felt our room was just what I would expect from the pictures. It was updated and roomy. I loved the big mirrors to add space, and used them to get ready while others showered. It seemed clean and bathroom faucets and A/C worked great!! But, we paid for a premium ocean view...and got 50% the top of Virgils roof. (Room 5234) Hence the higher fee shouldn't be asked for these rooms. The far away distant view was pretty of palm trees, pool and bits of ocean. Maybe I am just used to the views I get in Kauai, Hawaii. My second complaint simply about our room..was that the tile floor could have been cleaned better. It always felt gritty, and our feet were dirty. (sand)

The Coral was busy with families, so if you don't want that vibe stay at another. (If we come back, we will for sure do the Cove or possibly the Reef.) I tried my hand at Bingo, and won a puzzle, Karaoke looked fun, we loved the quick stop of 'Sun and Ice' in lobby for a fast Danish, bagel, ice cream or shake. We even grabbed lunch before a snorkel excursion. The employees there were always sweet. Plus, the line there was never as long as the Royal's grab and go Patisserie. We ended up never doing a movie as the times weren't great. I wish they did 8:00 showings more, or ones every three hours if it was raining.

The pools were GREAT, but know seats get taken up fast, and people did seem to save with towels that weren't there most the day. (In fact we started telling people to take them, as no one had been there all day) We really could have tried a different pool each day, or a beach. But did the Mayan pool twice as it was close to the Rapid River and slides. (Challenger slides were closed I believe to injuries of fiberglass cuts/stitches--not sure why maintenance would fix that quickly..it had been two weeks) The Rapid River was fun, and a bit scary the first time around as we didn't know what to expect. You do get really wet! Take your phone covers...we forgot ours.

I felt most the staff was friendly especially if you smiled and tried to talk to them. Only a few times did we laugh at the pool snack restaurants, as they did seem grumpy if we asked if they had any Dole whip, and they were out. (NO DOLE WHIP!) (We loved the raspberry ones). We laughed too at a few life guards falling asleep. But some life guards were so fun in the Rapid River and seemed to be enjoying their job by making it fun. Remember to thank them for helping your move as you float!

I am a chicken and did not do the two slides, Abyss or Leap of Faith, like my family. My favorite which was nice and easy was the Serpent Slide into the tunnel of sharks!! The other slides could be rough, and I enjoyed them, but did get a huge 8 inch bruise on my butt!! So keep your butt up like the signs say. I would also recommend water shoes/tevas!! The cement would get soo hot. I did wear flip flops after the first day and hold them on the slides.

Please know food was expensive. For our family of 4, we spent well over $2300 for a week, that's with a few little breakfasts from Sun and Ice, Starbucks, and Shake Shack. I did prebuy $1800 in food before going. Not knowing we would spend $300 at Nobu. But my family loved Nobu and we went there twice (so really $600). We also walked to Jimmy Buffet's one night (its really close- cut through the Marina Village)

We loved the Junkanoo Bahamian "Rush Out" parade. We went to it twice!! The first night (Friday) had two very animated fun dancers. We missed out on the Goombay Nights as we had heavy rains that evening.

We also did paddle boarding and kayaking with the dolphins at the Dolphin Cay. I wouldn't do that again. It was over priced for the time and ability to see the dolphins. We also didn't know we could have stayed at that beach area for the day with our pass. Which would have helped with personal pictures. Instead I paid $200 for 10 pictures they took. The swim with dolphins may be better, but our family had recently done that in the Cancun area of Quintana Roo

We did the snorkel adventure through the company at the resort...way cheaper and we enjoyed it. They took us to Rose Island, and we stopped near Blue Lagoon and peeked over the walls from the boat to watch the dolphins play. We were not fed on that ...hence the cheaper price.

There were cute kitties on the property. We would take our left overs often and feed them. They were very friendly.

Over all, thirty years later... after a bit of big nudge to get my husband to go...he said he could come to Atlantis again. It was a success!!

We stayed at the Coral in two rooms on the 7th floor and had beautiful rooms overlooking the Royal Towers and the beach. The staff was very friendly and Sandra did a great job of cleaning our room. We loved walking the beach, the lazy river and slides and visiting the predators lagoon and dig. While walking by the stingrays and turtles one morning, Laurianne heard my daughter saying how much she loved turtles. She brought us into the fish hospital and let us hold turtles and starfish. She was kind, patient and informative. Thank you for making our trip!!
Atlantis is expensive but we brought a snacks, drinks and a toaster to make our breakfasts and lunches. There are Elkay water fountains around the property, so bring your own water bottles. Stop at Supervalu grocery store on your way from the airport to the resort to stock up on fruit and vegetables. We dined at Virgils (great happy hour drink prices) Murrays, the Marina pizzeria and the Burger Shack for less expensive meals.
A memorable family vacation, Thank you Atlantis!

I had seen the lovely online pictures and had read reviews good and bad and was willing to try it out for a girls' long weekend. I would never give this property another cent. It is advertised as a Marriott property but while on property the workers are sure to tell you they do not work for Marriott and cannot help with points, etc. The customer service is less than awful. The workers are not able to help with anything. The rooms have some updates, like new flooring but overall fixtures, doors, walls are all old and damaged. The common areas are dated and not kept up. The outdoor areas smell of sea life and are not clean. The lazy river was completely full of algae. Nothing is enjoyable or relaxing here. You expect to pay more for food and beverage while on an island but it seems a lot more expensive than typical. $10 for a bottle of beer. $16 for to go breakfast sandwich. I can overlook one or two of these things but when you combine them all you will want to spend your hard earned money elsewhere...there is nothing redeeming about this property. Atlantis as a whole should close, completely renovate and open something people are happy about spending time and money at.

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely fabulous time at Atlantis for 6 nights! The Bahamian people are so lovely and friendly and that goes for nearly every single service professional we encountered at Atlantis. We had booked a room at The Coral with two queen beds and upon arrival were given a king which just wouldn't do. The desk attendant took care of us and we ended up in a queen room overlooking the ocean and the great Coral pool. Yes, the room wasn't perfect and food and drinks were pricey, but we knew exactly what we were getting into before we got there. The pools are marvelous and the beaches amazing. We especially liked Cove Beach. We had planned to go into town once or twice, but we never did because we couldn't tear ourselves away from the resort. So much to do and enjoyed the marine displays, visiting Dolphin Cay and riding the Rapid River. Sadly, the other lazy river was closed for maintenance. Every single meal we had was spectacular from the tasting menu at FISH to the halibut at Cafe Martinique to the pool side restaurants, especially Lagoon Bar & Grill. The Coral is so convenient to Marina Village where you can eat, shop and look at the yachts. We also took advantage of the 5-minute walk to eat at Anthony's twice and hit Bristol's liquor store for wine. I just don't get some of the previous negative reviews. My friend has traveled to many luxury island resorts and thought Atlantis topped them all.

Tired, Dated but good bones. needs a refresh especially with SLS and Baha Mar in town now. Need to work on pricing for F&B as $34 for a double titos and sodas is rediculous and then $17 for a double Buffalo Trace. Staying on property is the smart thing to do as getting anywhere is $$$ and you may have to wait 1 hour a ride back.

Overall they need to work on a refresh, cleanliness of the resort crounds leading to the differnt hotels as some areas are neglected, CONSISTENCY with F&B offerings, and proper pricing (i know it is a resort, but they is resort price and then there is gouging), and overall consistency with services and staff friendlinees needs to improve

We stayed in 2 connecting 2 queens room w water view on 7th floor...what a beautiful view towards the ocean, the pools and partial of the Royal's facade esp during the sunset! Kalin at the front desk had been extremely helpful, professional and courteous. The checking-in process went through smoothly. My family loves the experience and we had many enjoyable moments in the short 5 day-stays there. of course the cost of food in the hotels are very expensive, but it is expecting. We had breakfast in the room, lunch outside by the pool/beach/the waterpark, and proper dinner mostly at Carmine(great food) and once at Anthony's Grill (grilled rock lobster), and the Marina Pizzeria. We checked out the Fish Fry, cheap but nothing to be brag about. The only minor problem we were facing was a dispute charges that we thought had beed settled with the front desk people during the check out, that they would remove the charges only for us to find out later after we get back home that the charges went through still. Apparently a lot of people facing this type of problems, we're extra careful w our "charging to the room" spending, and yet still facing the ghost "charges" creeping up in our room charges. So make sure charge to your credit cars solely instead to minimize all these strange charges from the hotel appear on your credit card bills. We have been trying to call the hotel to resolve this issue only to be pass thru from one person to another and another...and up till now, seems like no one at Atlantis know how to resolve the issue.

There are so many options when you start to consider a trip to Atlantis which can be admittedly daunting if you've never been there before. Between the 4 or 5 different hotels, meal plans, activities, it'll make your head spin. We went with the middle of the road option and it didn't disappoint. Not too expensive, but also not the cheapest option and I think it over delivered. We had a great room on the top floor facing the ocean which I think it worth the extra little bit per night.

The size of the entire resort itself is truly astounding. The water park alone was worth the price of admission for our family (two boys, 5 and 7), but the grounds were beautiful and well maintained and things like the aquarium were surprisingly comprehensive and definitely worth a look. Yes, the little village in the marina feels contrived, but the vibe is great and you can find cheaper meal options, but it still isn't cheap.

Overall, we had a great vacation and would likely head back!

Short answer is that this is doable but they won’t allow you to do so for “fire safety” reasons-basically they can make more $ off tourists by making us get 2 rooms! Seems to be a common practice in the Bahamas- the Comfort Suites next to the Atlantis (and the Atlantis) did the same thing to our party of 5- 3 adults and 2 kids (mom, dad, grandma and 9-yr old twins). That said, we were quite comfortable at the Atlantis and they even upgraded one of our adjoining rooms to a suite and gave us late checkout on the suite so we had great views, tons of space and a great time.

I also booked through Marriott and the resort fees were not included. It will depend on how your 3rd party booked the trip--double check with them. If it doesn't say resort fees included I would plan on paying the fees.

They do offer an advance pay option for meals and drinks. But if you overpay, there is no getting the money back. So be sure to carefully map out how much you plan to spend each day on meals and drinks. The savings work if you plan accordingly.
