From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was great. We received a warm welcome on arrival and our cases were swiftly carried up to our room - we had booked a simple garden room but to our surprise we received a top floor front line room with fabulous view over the marina. The room was spotlessly clean, good size, plenty of storage space, large bathroom with walk in shower, and good size balcony with a sun lounger (we asked for a 2nd one as we like to sit out late afternoon with a drink - it was delivered within 10mins)
The bed was extremely comfortable, sheets changed regularly as were the towels.
There are tea/coffee facilities available in the reception area and a nice quiet area to sit in the internal court yard. The gardens are very well kept and we were lucky to spot humming birds on a couple of occasions.
We understand that there very various grades of rooms, but all we wanted was a clean bed/bathroom with a balcony in a central location and thats exactly what we got.
There is a free shuttle bus at the hotel which will ferry customers to Pigeon point,Gallion beach and Shirley heights which is very handy for those who are unable to walk too far.
The staff were polite and curteous at all times and their local knowledge was very handy.A big thank you to the hard working cleaners, reception staff and drivers.
If you are looking for the all inclusive type accommodation with all the frills ! then this is not for you.
It is a very "buzzy" lively area especially at night time due to the number of bars/restaurants in the area but we thoroughly enjoyed it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

We have just returned from Antigua having spent a wonderful week staying at the Yacht Club Marina Resort. We stayed in a sea view studio with fabulous views of the harbour’s many comings and goings. The accommodation was spotless and spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxed stay at our own pace. We especially want to thank David and the reception staff for their helpfulness in arranging lifts to and from the beach, harbour and even Shirley Heights. Always an immediate response to our request and an exceptionally prompt pick-up too! Towels for the beach made life very easy and the cleaning team were great, very friendly, and kept our room immaculately clean. We loved exploring the area, especially the trails that had us climbing like the goats at times! We can also highly recommend the Pineapple Turnovers from the Dockyard Bakery- not to be missed. But, being able to come back to our room and enjoy the view from such a comfortable balcony, surrounded by splendid wildlife and planting, was such a treat. Just what we needed after a hard day’s sunbathing on Pigeon Point Beach! We may well return next year!

We are just finishing a 10 day holiday and have loved every minute of our stay. The top sea view suite was perfect, large welcoming room with spacious bathroom and balcony with table and chairs, loungers and even a hammock to swing in the breeze. The view across the harbour was amazing, especially at night when all the yachts were lit up. WIFI took time to get connected but then worked faultlessly allowing us to look up the owners of the fabulous yachts moored nearby. The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment needed to make the odd breakfast or lunch meal and the fridge even had a freezer for the ice. The room was attended to daily and spotlessly clean, the gardens beautiful, colourful and everyone around very polite and accommodating. We have loved our stay here and would certainly book again. The noise / music from the harbour can at times be intrusive however this is outside the resort's control.

After spending 5 days there in January, I don't think we will be back.
On the positive side, the hotel is in a fabulous location right in the heart of Falmouth dock with the superyachts. And close to two fabulous beaches (Pigeon Beach and Galleon Beach) which the staff will shuttle you there free of charge.
However, the rooms are basic at best - bed and shower. Travelodge is better. And getting any form of service is a pain - 2 days to fix a safe and a requested balcony chair never arrived in 5 days.
I would suggest that you use this if you just need a bed for a few nights, do not go if you are expecting a 'resort' experience.
The location means that there are great bars and restaurants only a few yards away, so you do not really need the 'resort' element.

We stayed here mid October.

2 adults and a 5yr old boy.

Having read previous reviews on both here and TA we weren't quite sure what to expect.

WOW!!!

Stunning views (very worthwhile upgrading to a seaview room) literally views for days!! Costing us $130us to upgrade was certainly worth it.

The room was huge, good sized kitchenette with everything we needed including sharp knives, chopping board, pans, cooking spoons etc
There was even some cooking oil, washing up liquid and dishcloths (which makes a change!!)

Bed, whilst feeling very firm at first impression, was actually really comfortable and we had no problems (I'm usually a fussy sleeper)

Staff were all very polite and helpful with local information and with any requests and all friendly with our boy.

My top tips....

✓Upgrade your room to a sea view room

✓Hire a car (so many places to see and make a trip to the beach alot easier when it's 35°c+)

✓Visit the local beach (Pigeon Point Beach)

✓Have a drink at the skullduggery bar opposite in the marina (very casual and unpretentious)

We visited AYM Club in Jan 22, we were using the hotel as a base to travel around the island. We didn’t expect The Ritz, we expected the room to be basic, which it was, but we were not disappointed with the room, because the bed was comfy, the room spacious and the shower really nice.

One problem is due to the walls being so thin, we could hear both rooms either side of us, whenever they spoke we could hear them, especially at night time when they were drunk and on the phone for ages! Plus the room above us sounded like a pig farm… the guy snored very loudly!

The main reason for 3 stars is due to the very loud noise from the outside all night, people shouting and screaming so it’s very difficult to get to sleep - especially if you are a light sleeper! It honestly felt that we were in San Antonio, Ibiza, on the strip - trying to get to sleep at Club Tropicana… it was like a nightclub was on our balcony!! Loud music - Boom Boom Boom… All night from Club House and other establishments nearby.

In the end we checked out early and moved on to another B&B near Turners Beach. I would only use the place to stay 1 or 2 nights max, because you won’t get much sleep when people (who mostly come from off the boats) are partying. But it’s in a great area to explore Shirley Heights, Pigeon Point Beach, Fort Berkeley and there are many restaurants you can choose from.

Very lovely hotel situated at the Falmouth Harbour. The hotel management and staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. We originally were situated on the third tier up. It was very steep and when we requested to be changed to a lower room, they switched us immediately. The house staff were wonderful. Everything was kept extremely clean and neat. We had a beautiful room with a canape bed. The bathroom was big and roomy. The only suggestion is, they need better pillows. The pillows tended to go flat when you laid on them. We were within walking distance to the dive shop and small grocery store and shops. I highly recommend the Antigua Marina Yacht Club for dinner and the smaller bar below it for lunch and breakfast. There is a really nice pizza place down the road. The food is good and the beers are cold.

I was very disappointed. To start off the room which was called a suite had no coffee maker and was dirty. If I’m paying for a suite it should be up to standards of a suite which it did not. The location is great and the grounds are very nice but very hilly so expect to walk up a big hill to your room and don’t expect to sleep. There are dogs chained to a fence right behind the hotel, not sure if it’s a private home or what but they bark all night and music plays just about every night sometimes till 3 am in the morning. Don’t expect to complain because they could care less.
The next day we were moved to another room which was a little better. The shower fills with water and the sink water goes all over the counter. Also the furniture is very limited and the pillows and bed are not comfortable and If your expecting a Marriot Hotel feel you might want to look else where. The restaurants in the area are very good and there is a great pizza place near the hotel.

Can't fault this hotel for location, size of room and view.
There is no pool or restaurant but within a few minutes walk are lots of very good restaurants and just around the corner around 10 min walk away is Pigeon Beach.

Nearby Catherine's Cafe on the beach was very good.

English Harbour is a 10 minute walk away or if you fancy a trip further afield, the local bus gets you into St John's within about 45 minutes.

While the room itself was basic, there was a kitchen and a large balcony making it perfect for breakfasts overlooking the Harbour.

Shirley Heights BBQ on a Sunday is a must see, the cab from the hotel was around $10 US

We totally enjoyed our 10 night stay at the AYC. I was unsure what to expect given some mixed reviews on TA, but If you are looking for clean comfortable accommodation that’s close to plenty of great restaurants and bars, 10mins stroll from beautiful Pigeon Beach, plus a fantastic base to explore the island - then look no further. For the price charged this a really decent property. It doesn’t pretend to be a 5 star resort, but rooms are large and clean and Beds comfy. Staff are great too (Meechi and Tia on reception were really helpful especially) the grounds are lovely and the views great from the huge balconies. We would definitely return.

The hotel does not have a lift but there are round floor rooms. I didn't stay in the apartments but they are built on a hill so not accessible for those with walking difficulties. Worth noting there is no pool and the nearest beach is a decent walk down a hill there but upwards coming home
