I spent three and a half days at Nimmo Bay with my 17-year old son at the beginning of August. My expectations were very high, both in light of the reviews I'd read, and the cost...and the experience was above and beyond anything I could have imagined. Nimmo Bay is unique among the travel/adventure experiences I've had, combining incredible remoteness with luxury. The setting, nestled deep within the coves off the BC coast, is breathtaking, lush green forests running down to the water on all sides, with the bungalows set on a spit of land next to a waterfall that serves as the perfect soundtrack, day and night, and the rest of the buildings set on floating docks. The luxury is less so in the facilities, which are wonderful, but in the personalized attention and curated activities, and the attention to detail throughout. Every effort was made for us to experience what we came for (lots and lots of wildlife viewing), and every staff member we spent time with was friendly and knowledgeable and focused on our experience. In addition to seeing all the incredible wildlife we'd hoped for, we got to wakeboard and snorkel, both of which will be some of our most memorable memories from the trip. Last but not least, the food was amazing, as were the massages, and even the dining room team went out of their way to connect with us in a way that enhanced every meal. I couldn't have hoped for a better way to spend quality bonding time with my son. A huge thanks to Will and the whole team!

Nimmo Bay welcomed our group like we were the most important guests they've ever had. It's the way they make every guest feel. Everyone will have their own unique connection and experience with time spent here. Options for adventure and relaxation are abundant.
Over the few days, you could see our group visibly relax further each day. The staff is outstanding, they are subtle behind the scenes and somehow always ready to improve your experience just a little more whether it's as simple as a blanket at the floating fire pit, a cocktail creation based on what you like or extraordinary efforts to fulfill a request.
It may be a special occasion trip for many, however is well worth saving for. The location and environment is amazing, the food fantastic and the team so accommodating, friendly and caring. Nimmo Bay is the place where everybody knows your name.

After a 15 month break from travelling due to the pandemic, we were so excited to visit Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort. We read the phenomenal reviews and followed their Instagram account with anticipation. Notwithstanding our high expectations, I can honestly say everything about this special property exceeded expectations. The cottages are so cozy, tranquil and comfortable as well as being much more spacious than the photos on line would suggest. The setting is absolutely spectacular. The excursions are out of this world. They are all private and catered to your interests and it is just your group and a guide. You do not see any other tourists along the way. The experiences are also so unique. We did a private helicopter excursion and in addition to the incredible scenery, we enjoyed a scrumptious picnic lunch on a glacier! On another day we did a hike, then kayaked to a floating sauna (kayaks were waiting for us at the end of the hike) where we had another delicious picnic lunch; our guide left us to lunch on our own and then returned for more scenic kayaking back to the resort. On a coastal safari we saw killer whales, dolphins, harbour seals, sea lions, orca whales and a black bear. One of my favourite memories was doing stand up paddle boarding with my daughter and are wonderful guide, Sarah, before breakfast every morning. It was just so peaceful and serene … a wonderful way to start the day. Relaxing in the hot tub overlooking the a waterfall was a fabulous way relax after our daily excursions. The culinary experience was also outstanding, Michelin quality dining, no exaggeration. The homemade warm bread at every meal was to die for, and my daughter just loved the special mocktails Kyle would prepare for her every evening. S’mores by the campfire was yet another highlight. The staff were all so kind, welcoming, and could not do enough to please. The reservations manager, Jenny, was also so accommodating when we needed to adjust our dates due to COVID restrictions. Our time at Nimmo Bay was truly extraordinary. We have been to amazing luxury wilderness lodges in every continent, and Nimmo Bay is our favourite lodge and most wonderful experience. I would recommend this property without reservation and will surely go back with my family.

I started planning a “ surprise “ trip for my boyfriend in May during many travel restrictions and uncertainty. Growing up on Vancouver island, the surrounding islands, we both have a genuine love and passion for the Pacific Northwest, a love for adventure, good food, and privacy.
Nimmo Bay exceeded every hope and wish, they made this experience one I could never duplicate, no matter how many times I return or travel the world.
To start, I was hoping for an oceanfront cabin, but they were already spoken for. We were in a rustic cabin with fabulous linen bedding and the comfiest bed of all time.
I chartered a float plane direct from where we live to avoid a 3 hour drive, and we hopped aboard and enjoyed the scenery!
Coming into Nimmo Bay for the first time , is a site. Excitement, happiness , just basking in its beauty from above….
Landing we were greeted by most of the team , and brought to our cabin for the first time!
We had daily meetings with staff with lunch menu and daily activities and options— all catered to exactly what we wanted!

We were eating well thought, delicious and locally sourced fine dining quality meals and spirits.
Day one we did a wilderness tour aboard a very fine and comfortable vessel , we checked out artifacts , wildlife, whales , birds and scenery. Our captain was an amazing human who truly connected us to the Nimmo spirit and beyond. He is a genuine human being and we are very grateful for our time getting to know him!
The special individual touches are above and beyond what you will find anywhere else. Once they know what your flavour is, they impress , they shine above any expectation!
We had a private picnic on beach, alone with the ocean, the waves and eachother.
Adventures on the daily , picnic lunches in locations you couldn’t imagine —- is the regular every Nimmo Bay.
Destination kayaking , destination paddle boarding , floating hot tub, floating sauna, couples massage and the ultimate—— full day heli glacier tour… where I proposed to my amazing and wonder fiancé!!!!!!!
The Nimmo Bay staff did incredible, from surprising me with a photographer to secretly document our day ( take nature shots ) , soothing my nervous soul, advice from the heart and keeping it all a big fat surprise from my unexpected partner.
We flew alone to the most remote , desolate inhabited areas around the BC Coastline , saw around 100 waterfalls, rivers , and the most beautiful glacier. We had a picnic lunch, enjoying the unbelievable scenery and best company.
When I popped the question , and he said yes, the best feeling came about me. It was infectious.
The helicopter tour was…. Truly remarkable in every way.
Becky and Fraser, you have a beautiful family and we are changed forever from our weekend away in Nimmo Bay. Looking forward to seeing you all again!
The Snooks❤️

Look, a place either is or is not worth the price of admission. With a price so high one is entitled to expect the best from Nimmo Bay. Having been to the absolute elite hotels and retreats this earth has to offer, I went without an understanding of what separates this special place from others in its exclusive and rarified category.

These are real and good people. If you want gold covered servants, go elsewhere. If you want an experience and interaction that makes you feel more connected to what matters in life, go here.

The attention to detail was similar to other extremely high end places, but that’s not what’s important. It was that they addressed your needs as would a great friend and did so with a skill matched by the very fewest and most refined of their sort.

I take a knee to this establishment and can say without hesitation that it’s as a good a place as one can go, and well worth it.

Accommodations are wonderful individual chalets. The large windows and French doors afford gorgeous views of the bay right outside your door and the beautiful old growth trees on the mountain just across the bay. Jaw dropping beauty! There were always interesting and fun activities if you wished to be active. There are also restorative spa treatments and yoga classes for perfect relaxation. The exceptional skill level of the chef results in beautiful, nutritious and soooo delicious multi course meals. The staff is expert at fulfilling your needs before you even know you have a need. The words "no" or "we can't do that" are not in their vocabulary! When we departed I felt as though I was leaving home.

We came to Nimmo by our own boat for a few days to stay on site and be spoiled. And we certainly were. We were not easy guests to take on adventures as we have been boating, kayaking, hiking, sup, in the area. But the amazing staff found new adventures for us everyday and were able to offer a last minute spectacular helicopter flight in the evening where the visibility was endless, well past 100km on top of Mnt Benedict in our 360 degree view hiking the last bit to the peak from the glacier where we landed. The food and service was outstanding. Thank you for great memories.

Nimmo Bay is not a vacation destination but an experience. From the second you arrive to your final goodbye-waves, your time at Nimmo Bay will be handcrafted and magical. The attention to detail at Nimmo Bay is next to none. The food and drinks are spectacular. It’s clear so much thought goes into each local ingredient and each wine pairing. The guided hikes and excursions, the stunning luxury and stillness of the floating hot tub and sauna, and private instruction in things like yoga and flying fishing are all at your fingertips. The surroundings to these experiences are the pristine Great Bear Rainforest, the waters that surround it, and all of their incredible inhabitants (think grizzly bears and humpback whales!). But, despite all of this, it’s the Nimmo Bay staff who take your experience to the next level; what incredible people. Their knowledge about the local ecosystem and all of its beauty — and their willingness to share it — cannot be replicated. It’s the pinnacle of excellent service across the board — from reservations to excursion guides to the kitchen and bar. We are so grateful to have spent time at Nimmo Bay - it is an experience we will never ever forget.

We have just returned from our second visit in a year. Covid has helped us get there, it is in our province. Again, we chose to stay 7 days as there is so much to soak up and we also like to take time to unwind. Nimmo is just the 'best kept secret' and we are so glad we have found time to visit and 'become part of the family' instead of always heading off in the world exploring far away places. There is so much attention to detail and care taken in all aspects at Nimmo be it at the lodge or out on activities. So much to do and see, depending on your mood, energy level and weather, we love to also just spend time at the lodge soaking up the surrounding nature and quietness in luxury with its ever changing tides and colours. The food is out of this world and the accommodation so comfy and spacious not to mention the heavenly beds wrapped in linen. Nothing is too much or not possible here. We will always make time from now to visit.

Hello Moira, You really are part of the family at Nimmo Bay now! Thank you for visiting us again and for taking the time to explore your own backyard this year. Covid has been hard on tourism and we are so grateful to the amazing folks in BC and across Canada who have supported their local treasures and helped us get through this strange time. Your visit means the fantastic crew of people at Nimmo stay busily employed, the business keeps operating smoothly and we keep being able to show people our incredible "neighbourhood"! So, thank you for finding this "best kept secret" and we can't wait to have you back!

Our expectations were high, so we could only be disappointed! Not at all…it went on to deliver above and beyond. Don’t expect luxury lodges, they are clean and very comfortable, but everything else delivers at the 5star level and the location is 6star!
The isolated sauna on the water, the hot tub experience and that roaring waterfall illuminated, as you return to your lodge are just few of the special features.
What comes out of the kitchen is amazing and is tasty, healthy and presented beautifully. The wine list superb and the staff friendly and attentive.
One area of improvement? No obvious “manager” of the resort, that is customer facing, at the occasional time when everyone arrives in the restaurant together and inexperienced staff need help. Overall 5star resort. Mike and Cat x

Hello Shirley, Thank you for your interest in visiting Nimmo Bay. We actually close at the end of October each year so unfortunately, we won't be able to welcome you in mid-November. We do still have a few openings for late October. Please e-mail us at heli@nimmobay if you would like more information about October dates. My best, Brianna
