Stayed there for 4 nights for Countdown Font desk staff were professional and efficient. Prior to check in, the staff were responsive to email queries. Rooms were well maintained and clean. Bed and pillow were just nice. There were multiple charging points in the room. 18th floor view could see the Fireworks, albeit a bit far. The housekeeping team did a great job in tidying our room every day. Room has no cigarette smell at all (although some hotels claim it's a non smoking floor). Overall, very pleased with the stay and will definitely be back again.

I stayed there for a night with my family and it's a very pleasant experience since I booked this hotel at the last minute. Our room located on 15F with a stunning view to see Taipei 101 not far away! I received very warm service from the hotel clerk, Tracy, she was awesome and very professional in serving us, even quite a few people waiting in the queue when we arrived.
The breakfast buffet was ok, varieties of choices from Chinese cuisine to the American style of cheese and bread, the restaurant is at 14F with a patio to enjoy the morning breeze.
The location of the hotel is very convenient and closes to an MRT (10 mins of walking distance) and a bus loop in 2 mins. I highly recommend it!

I like Courtyard and stayed at quite a few of the properties as you pretty much know what you get, plus most properties are newer. This Courtyard property in Taipei also seems quite new, the rooms are well appointed and functional, lots of USB ports, well laid out rooms. The staff are also extremely polite, professional and kind. The location is good, easy to get all areas in Taipei, very central. We had a very good stay there and would go back anytime.

Issue 1, the room you booked or see on the Marriott App might not be available when you check-in. Issue 2, the AYS will offer you something the hotel doesn’t have. Issue 3. Agreed not to ring my doorbell when bring bags to my room and just leave at the door but won’t honor the request. Keep ring the door bell twice. Issue 4. On their app the hotel say the offer housekeeping service daily and evening turndown service but when I came back to my room at 10 pm, my mobile key won’t work and they didn’t do turndown service, asked the front desk was told the hotel never offered turndown service since it opened over a years ago, they will do it only if asked to do so. Issue 5. The pull up bar in the gym is almost against the ceiling so can’t really use it to pull up. Issue 6, there are no sanitizer wipes in the gym so you can wipe down the equipment before and after use. So use the gym at your on risk. Issue 7. After I got my food at the breakfast buffet didn’t see chopsticks so asked the server, she kindly brought me a pair of chopsticks and told me that the chopsticks are at the food counter and I can get them myself the next time. Nice gesture and understood. Issue 8. The staffs in the restaurant all wearing blue gloves for sanitizing reason but the wear the same pair to pickup trash from the floor, pickup dirty dishes, wipe the tables, setting up the tables, adjusting their face mask, giving me chopsticks and bring me spoons—- all from the same pair of gloves. These protect the workers from catching germs while contaminating everything they touch.
Overall, the room is nicely decorated. And everyone is nice in a way that they smile and answer all the questions honestly but not necessary the answer you want to hear. The team doesn’t communicate with each other and they really doesn’t care what I feel. So I checked out and move to the Marriott Taipei.

Service is good. The restaurant & breakfast is great (compared with the same level Courtyard level), this hotel provides abundant and rich food choice.
The bathroom is suitable and the different materials of the ground are comfortable and safe for walking.
Overall speaking, joyful stay and highly recommendation to stay this lovely hotel.

If management is reading this, I want to personally recognize the outstanding services I received from fellow employees. Wendy Zhau, she works in the breakfast area, very friendly and attentive. She made sure every dish she serves was as close to perfection as possible. She mentioned she was an intern if she ever applies for a full-time position please give her the highest consideration for it. Ray and Cilicia (I think that's her name that works behind the services desk) worked in the lounge area, Ray was a very friendly bartender and Cilicia took her time to explain to me all the benefits and services I can use at the hotel, and things I can do in the local area. Iris worked at the front desk as concierge, she was very helpful and continue to give me a kind greeting and smiles every time I walk in and out of the hotel. These employees plus all others truly made my stay in Taipei truly memorable.

From the moment of arrival, I noticed that the concierge and check-in were all female staff. I had some heavy luggage, and they were very happy about helping to load and unload them for me, but, I felt awkward about it, so I still ended up handling the luggage myself. I must give a 5* for the service, I was always greeted with pleasant smile, and everyone is so eager to help and assist. The room is good size, with plenty of spaces to layout the luggages. Although the bathroom was very nice, but, I was disappointed how small the vanity area was. First, the bathtub is about 70% of normal length, and there is not enough space on the vanity to lay out the travel kit. But, the material used is reflective of a 5* quality. The Club Lounge had a nice size outdoor Terrace, not much of a view, but, it was very nice sitting by the window and enjoy cup of coffee and the breakfast. The breakfast selection was very good. A good mixture of the western and Chinese choices. We also had the chance to enjoy the Happy Hour in the evening, the selections were just OK, and the taste, well, nothing to write about really. The location I would give it a 4*, there is very little commercial around the hotel, and it's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro station. So, taking Taxi is the main means of transportation if one wishes to stay there. ( try walking 10 minutes in the humid summer condition in Taipei ). Overall, my Platinum Elite status was recognized with higher floors and Club Lounge access ( too bad, didn't upgrade my room to a larger size ) , the breakfast at the Lounge was good, but, the best of all, is the people that make you feel warm and welcomed.

I booked a room at Courtyard Taipei Downtown a few days before my arrival, so it was rather spontaneous. At check-in, I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a gratuitous upgrade to a room with a view of Taipei 101 from my window.
The sleeping quality was superb. In addition to the cozy bedding, the room is surprisingly quiet given that the hotel is located close to an elevated expressway, within a predominantly business district. The convenient location did not compromise the quality of my stay at all.
I might add that the gym is spacious and clean and I enjoyed working out there. What I also enjoyed was the hospitable service from Nat and Ella at the front desk.
In short, this is a hotel that I can wholeheartedly recommend for a pleasant stay in Taipei - with or without promos.

Rooms are new and clean. Amenities are bare basic at this property. Elite guests receive very little to no additional value. Titanium and Ambassador levels received no suite upgrades, got maybe a view upgrade. Rooms are very tight, bathrooms are tiny. Rooms near the elevator or service entrance are noisy. location of property is decent. a good food street a couple of blocks from the property.
No beverages provided in mini-fridge, free or for charge. Not even spoons in provided in room. Club lounge was still closed as of Dec, no offer to provide any sodas or other beverage to elite guests room in lieu of no lounge access.
Breakfast at first floor restaurant is likely one of the worst I've had at a Marriott property. Be warned if you dont reserve a time slot in advance you may get rejected, even if the place is half empty. Food selection was average, but food quality was truly terrible. Only the pastries were passable, all hot items were really poorly prepared. One plus is that they let you do a take out pack if you cant dine onsite.
Disappointing property overall. It's new and located in a central part of Taipei. Staff are friendly and everything is well maintained. Just dont get much value here. Many other properties to choose from, I'd put this to the back of the list if you care about elite benefits.

Family of three stayed for a year-end. Building seems to be new and all areas were maintained very well. In the US, Courtyard is not the best among Marriot hotels but this one is definitely 5 star. We relied heavily on Concierge for trip and food recommendations and others. Each time, staffs there were really friendly and helpful. It's not just they were trained well but they all were very well service-minded. Pleasant to deal with them all the time. I will definitely choose this hotel again.
Hotel is located good 15-20 min taxi ride from Ximending area. There are local markets just cross the road and National University campus is few blocks away. We tried few local restaurants and they were great. Just ask Concierge for recommendations.
