Our Condo is located just steps away from Potrero and Penca Beach in the middle of an authentic little coastal town. Penca is arguably the most beautiful beach in the area with white sand and a pool like bay great for all water sports, our sunset is incredible. We are located minutes away from the main attractions of the Gold Coast like the International airport and the nightlife at Tamarindo.

They provide some small soaps for the bathroom - I suggest bringing your own soap. They only provide 4 rolls of toilet paper, may need to buy some. No shampoo or condition and no hair dryer. Kitchen is nice but pots, pans and silverware are low quality. Need to bring everything for the kitchen including salt, pepper, sugar/sweetener, ground coffee for coffee maker. The refrigerator does make plenty of ice so that's a plus. There is a stacked washer/dryer but bring detergent or buy it there. There are bath towels but if you want beach towels, bring your own.

Santa Teresa as a town isn’t that charming, but the beaches are nice.
The hostel gave a a very nice stay with relaxed vibes. The staff, especially the cleaning ladies, are very nice and competent - the owner asked us how we were doing. it takes about 1 minut to go from the hostel to the beach.
If you are to stay in Santa Teresa, Costa del Sol is a very nice place.

Found this place online while frantically looking for somewhere to stay after a bad experience in with accommodation in Monteverde. This condo was just what the Dr. ordered and made the last couple of days of our stay in Costa Rica memorable. The condo itself was lovely and had everything you could possible need including a fully equipped kitchen. We stayed in unit #3 which was spotless with tasteful décor, a lovely patio with table and chairs for outdoor meals, very private and close to the pool. The nearby beach is absolutely lovely, clean, with hardly anyone there. Checking in was quick and they kindly allowed us to check out late. The property is gated with 24 hour security and there is a grocery store across the street as well as restaurants.

My family and I (4 adults) spent a week in Costa Rica, two nights of which were at Casa del Sol. We are flexible travelers, and are typically the type to favor "budget" lodging over resort-style stays. For our beach lodging, however, we decided to splurge, and ended up booking a villa at Casa del Sol. We had first booked a villa through AirBnB, and were informed by the host the week prior to our trip that were would be no Air Conditioning in our reserved space. We cancelled the booking, and switched to another similar villa through Booking.com. As I mentioned before, we are a flexible bunch--but arriving at the villa, I felt as though the quality of the suite had been dramatically misrepresented. Though "nice" at first appearance, the villa showed significant signs of wear. The furniture was cheap and uncomfortable, so much so that you could not sit on the pull-out couch because of how much you would sink! We also discovered that all the windows in the villa did not lock, and could be easily opened from the outside. Management was notified and came to resolve the issue, but upon returning we found that the windows could still be opened from outside. Especially since there are not many surrounding amenities (food, stores, etc.), it did not provide the haven we had hoped for. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere where you can get more bang for your buck.

We rented out condo (14) through Airbnb.com, the owner Svetlana was great at communicating everything with us. The condo was clean, modern and beautiful. The condo itself has the basics that you need (kitchen/bathroom amenities). Anything else you may need, and there are multiple small markets just down the road. This condo is kid friendly, I have an 18 month old, and there were just a few decorative items we moved out of his reach. The pool area is small, but nice, and the grounds are very well maintained. Having the added security of a gate guard 24/7 is nice as well. Playa Penca is a short 5 minute walk away, and when you arrive you are greeted by a beautiful white sand beach. We went today (on a Sunday) and it was virtually empty, with mainly locals there.

Wow what a great place stayed in Casa Linda # 14, there are so many things to do it was impossible to fit them all in a week. The condo was very beautifully decorated in a very tropIcal styl. Great pool about 200 paces to one of the prettiest beaches and walking distance to a dozen restaurants. Will defiantly be back.

this was our first trip to Costa Rica and I was concerned about he resort and location. My concerns were dispelled as soon as we arrived. the complex has a 24 hour gated security with Mr. Ronnie in charge. We stayed in unit 14 which was modern, up to date and had every thing we needed. it was clear that the owners have taken great care in the furnishings and the décor. There is a king bed in the master and two twins in the other bedroom. The complex has a great pool with a mandatory 4 pm cocktail party. The resort is between two beaches and I urge you to travel north and south to explore the different towns and beaches. English is spoken, but most people speak Spanish. Fantastic unit, fantastic location.

We spend four nights at this lovely rental. It was about 700 steps from the beach. I used my Fitbit to calculate this. The beach was beautiful. It was not very crowded and very few Americans were on the beach. We enjoyed watching the sunset every night on the beach and swimming every day in the water. The condominium complex also had a lovely pool. Our unit had everything that we needed for a fabulous beach vacation. It even had beach chairs and an umbrella in the storage room. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The condominium unit was well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed having a washing machine and dryer in the unit. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone. The highlight was that there was a family of monkeys living in a tree on the way to the beach.

Casa Del Sol Playa Potrero

We spent Christmas in Costa Rica with extended family totaling 13 of us. We rented 3 units at Casa Del Sol. I am writing about unit #25 but our group rented #23 and #12 as well.
The space worked out very well for our group. The pool area is very nice and perfect for gathering our group. We were disappointed that the hot tub did not get warm the whole time we were there.

The units were not well equipped in the kitchen. We only had 6 forks, knives plates etc. We did have plenty of towels, but it took three request for a blanket for the pull out couch. The couch was extremely uncomfortable for sleeping. The kids ended up folding the couch back up and sleeping on the couch as is.

The furniture in unit 25 that was on our small patio, literally crumbled, during our stay. The space is great for hanging out or eating meals. But the plastic wicker on the chairs disintegrated. One was already unusable when we arrived and 2 others ended up crumbling. By the end of our trip we only had 1 usable patio chair. The table was glass but had the wicker under the glass as well, so it crumbled away too. It just made a mess!

There was a language barrier as no one at the Casa Del Sol speaks English and our Spanish was not great. This was an issue for us as we couldn't really talk to the staff about these issues. As I said.... it took 3 requests to get a blanket.

There were other units that appeared to be nicer and in better shape than unit #25. I understand that they are individually owned so they vary significantly. We enjoyed our time in Playa Potrero but I don't think we would stay at Casa Del Sol again.

We stayed at Casa del Sol June 25 to July 2, 2016. Our family had one unit and my brother and his family had the another unit which was next door. It was a beautiful property in a lovely rural setting. Potrero is a small fishing village. The walk to the beach is 3-5 minutes up a dirt road (better walked than driven) that runs alongside the property and then past a few local homes. There are chickens and monkeys along the way to entertain. The beach has amazing waves. There are other beaches in the area that are more tranquil.
Our condo was clean and well-equipped as was my brother's. We loved that there was lots of room to spread out and there was enough room to accommodate both families when we were hanging out at night. Many small sodas (restaurants) in the area including our favorite: the shack. We also loved, loved, loved Angelina's (up-scale) in Playa Flamingo and Coco Loco (on the beach) in Playa Flamingo (10 minutes down the road) was another favorite. We mostly had the pool to ourselves, it was quiet (except one night at local bar next door), and the guards at the entrance were all very friendly - although limited English. There are many lovely beaches in the area and lots to do (if you want adventure) or lots of quiet to relax if you so desire. We used Wet and Wild for our adventure tours: ATV and Canyon de la Rieja. The ATVs met us right at our door to our condo and a large, comfortable tourist van took us to Canyon de la Rieja right from our front door.
Casa del Sol is about an hour and fifteen minute car ride from Liberia Airport. We rented a car from National and had no issues (we got all the bells and whistles on our car policy after reading reviews of insurance in Costa Rica). The paved roads were well maintained. We chose not to go off -road in our cars. We felt safe but also did not take any foolish chances. We would go back in a heart beat and would highly recommend these condos.
