Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed at the Sea Star resort over Christmas and New Year 2023/2024. We booked a beach front bungalow and were not disappointed with the views, or the accommodation itself & the Queen sized bed was really comfy. We were situated 2 mins walk from the breakfast area / restaurant and all of the staff were really helpful, right from the bar staff, to reception to the cleaners - all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was cleaned every day and we were provided with fresh towels to use in our room, in addition to fresh beach towels and complimentary bottled water.
On Christmas day, we got left small gifts and were brought a cake (big enough for both of us), which was really nice of the hotel. We were invited to a complimentary New Years Eve dinner / party (which members of the public / other tourists could have attended for £50 each) and it was very good.
The location of the resort is great as you are right in the middle of everything. There are free electric buses that run up to the night market, VinWonders, the airport & south of the island with bus stops only being a few minutes walk from the resort.
I would recommend staying here if you are considering visiting Phu Quoc.

6 of us stayed for a couple of weeks in 3 bungalows. the breakfast buffet is varied enough, the rooms are cleaned every day, the beds are very comfortable with spring mattress, the gardens are well maintained and the beach front is cleaned every morning. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back.

Just returned from an 11 night stay here, we stayed in a beach bungalow. The rooms are very impressive for the price. Really clean and comfortable. Really nice bathroom and a good sized porch with 2 loungers. Room was cleaned every day, towels changed everyday and bedding changed weekly. Beach towels changed when required. Good bathroom with a large shower.
The room opened directly onto the beach which was clean and had plenty of sunbeds and lots of shade if required.
Breakfast was good and catered for most tastes, food fresh and plentiful. Bar was good and had regular happy hours, the drinks were good and well priced. All staff we dealt with were very friendly. Airport taxis were arranged by the hotel for us and were reliable and reasonably priced.
The hotel is set back from the road, down a small side road but this is well lit and easy to find, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, also the night market is fairly close by.
There has been previous mention of noise from the neighboring bars, we could hear the music at night but it never disturbed us.
There is a wardrobe in the room but a lack of drawer space, storage could be an issue for some. Pool on site was OK, didn't seem to be very well used.
Overall an excellent place. We are planning to visit Phu Quoc again and would not hesitate to book this place again.

Hotel is in a fantastic location, stunning beach, loved sitting under the palm trees, always lots of beds and space and very clean. We had a standard bungalow, mozzie net absolutely essential, so glad we had one, air con was lovely and cool, bed comfortable. Bathroom needed updating, but the water was lovely and hot. Breakfast was in a very old fashioned room, very strange set up, but was very tasty and eggs however you want them. The beach bar was very expensive we only had 1 drink, they closed at 10pm and turned away business after this time, such a shame as they have a beautiful setting could make much more of this. Hotel definitely needs an update but great value for money. Some of the staff we found very serious, did not smile and say hello, but others were lovely. We booked our trips through John's tours - highly recommended and great value. We did 3 Island boat trip and south island tour which included the cable car and water park. Worth the walk to King Kong supermarket, but are a couple of local mini marts very close. Loved the Banh Mi stall on.kain road right from the hotel, excellent food and lemon ice drink. Best restaurant right from hotel down the first lane called 'Colors' amazing food. Another really good restaurant, main road right from hotel, did not catch the name but it was just after the shop where they kids paint. Menu says says sweat and sour pork. This was the best sweet and sour pork ever! And they also did amazing dumplings in broth. Little stall on main road to right did the best iced coffee only 20k We took the free bus to the night market, worth a visit be prepto be hassled. Hotel and Phu Quoc would recommend!

Stayed in a deluxe room. Great air-conditioning and location. Pool was a bit smaller than I expected but still very nice. Right on the beach with cocktails at the bar and a happy hour not promoted just lucky. Breakfast was pretty good with fresh soups every morning and the usual eggs and bacon. Very decent price for what you get.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Sea Star Resort. It's ideally situated with lots of things to do and restaurants nearby. The staff were fantastic, always had a smile and helpful. We stayed one row back from the beach in a Deluxe Bungalow, which was a great location. The beach was kept clean by hardworking staff, and although the sea wasn't as clean as we expected, it was still ok for a swim and cool off. Sunbeds were always available and comfortable. We visited some other beaches on Phu Quoc, which we're pretty disgusting to be fair.The Swimming pool area was clean and surprisingly quiet at times.Breakfast was of an excellent standard with many choices. Beach bar was ideal for cold drinks and a good choice of food/snacks. We ate at many different restaurants nearby, which was all good and excellent value. If we were to return to Phu Quoc, we'd definitely stay at the Sea Star.

We stayed in the beach bungalow right on the sand & in front of the beach. 5 meters walk to the water. It was absolutely beautiful. The sunsets are gorgeous from the verandah. The size was perfect. Had a good bathroom, fridge, tea & coffee. Bottled water. Beach towels provided. Safe in room. Four posted comfortable bed with netting but we did not need to use it. The weather was perfect. Breakfast was ok. Could have changed the fruit variety daily. Instead had my fruit from the beach lady. Walked to the night markets - 20 minutes. Lots of cafes and restaurant along the waters edge on the beach side or on the main street. Beach massage was good & cheap.

We stayed for 3 nights here and we enjoyed it very much! I’ve requested for a bungalow, but the one they gave us was very old and outdated, the bed was nice though, toilet wasn’t working. So we asked to change our room into the building. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, gave us a comfortable renovated room with balcony. Overall, all the staffs were friendly and helpful, loved the beautiful beach front, very clean, breakfast was good with lots of variety to choose from. Great location to all attractions and night market. Highly recommended! Be sure to ask for a bungalow facing beach front, good luck!

We had a beach front room. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the resort. The room is very simple, clean, and bathroom recently renovated. The view is what makes it. 5 steps and your on sand. 10 steps in the ocean. The pool is recently renovated and lovely! The restaurant (apart from breakfast) is just so-so. The bar area is away from the pool and also main beach area. It lacks atmosphere BUT has so much potential. Play some music! This is a large resort so if walking is a problem perhaps avoid as it a long way to reception and semi steep pathways. Dogs stole our shoes off verandah which we heard was common but we were not warned nor was their signage. Would we stay again? Yes.

Moved here from an even worse hotel in Phu Quoc. From the outside it looks great, and on the whole it is. Had a Beach View Room as they are detached and probably more private than being on the beach. 50% + of clients are Russian as is the norm in Phu Quoc.
The Good: Great location, near town & other restaurants. Lovely beach, the best part of Duong Dong. Good restaurant (apart from breakfast). Nice looking rooms & bathrooms.
Not So Good: Beds obscenely uncomfortable. Others have mentioned this but they have to tried to be believed. I like hard beds but something about these mattresses makes them the worst I have ever slept on. The floor was more comfortable! Pillows dire. Plumbing done by amateurs, no stack pipes so constant toilet gurgling all night long. Staff not up to the usual Vietnamese friendly standard. Breakfast very basic, cold food, 2 hour old fried eggs, broken toasters, etc.

We stayed at SeaStar 7 days ago in late July. We did get a free airport shuttle on th eway back to the airport but did not book online, Simply checked avalibility with reception while we were on the Island. Generaly in Vietnam, you can get better deals face to face
