Hotel's Favourite
We spent three weeks in a one bedroom (two bathrooms) at the Westgate Towers Resort, and it was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, modern, and stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. There were three pools and three hot tubs, a fire pit, and a very clean grilling area. The hotel is located near a busy street so you sometimes heard the traffic but it didn’t bother us. There are many things do within a short drive, and there are restaurants nearby. We are excited to stay there again next year!

When booking our last minute trip, this Westgate property popped up!! We made the reservation, got our confirmation, thank goodness, and waited for the confirmation email. Something got lost in the translation because when i called the next day, the reservationist told me that my reservation didn't get to the right place !!! All went well and I was again "confirmed"! Here's something you should know, what the reservation clerk and the hotel check in have with respect to the amenities and your room reservation are, are two completely different things. Thank Goodness we looked at the original room first before unpacking, because it was nothing at all like we were told were going to be our accommodations. The front desk was very nice in changing our location and it all worked out. We were four adults in a 1 bedroom which had 2 bathrooms so that was a plus.Having a small kitchen was also a plus and being able to do laundry is a tremendous help. The sofa bed needed to have a second mattress put on it, because it was so uncomfortable. Maybe ok for a small child, but not 2 grown adults !!! The gameroom was merely several games in a hallway. The resort map had a grill located poolside outside of our room, but wasn't there. If you wanted to grill, you had to pack everything up and go to the next building, a little bit of a hassle!! The few games poolside didn't work and after telling the front desk, maintenance didn't seem to care either because they never got fixed. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and maintenance came to fix it. We had to leave the TV on the whole entire stay or else we wouldn't be able to watch TV in the bedroom, maintenance couldn't switch out the TV's. The amenities that the reservationist told us would be included in our stay with the resort fee that we paid was not true. When reaching the property everything had an additional fee that needed to be paid. We made our way to the "sister" resort at the Villa's to see what amenities we could take advantage of. What a totally different experience. With that said, we were not allowed to have access to the water park and there were no pool towels at the other pools that we went to. Also they claim to be heated pools, but the pool we spent time at was definitely not heated. We didn't have to do the whole presentation and tour, been there done that and I am happy that we didn't have to waste our time with the hard sell !!! Close enough to the parks but once the highway backs up in Kissimmee you sit in traffic to the parks. No way around this one. good for the time we were there, just disappointing that there were things that weren't available to us as we were told they would be.

We got a bonus week with our timeshare trader Interval and decided to stay here. My husband is on crutches so I’m not sure if another unit had been assigned to us but at sign in I requested 1st floor near pool. Our unit was not one that had been recently renovated, but we liked it very much. Room was clean and nice. Great walk in shower. Large rooms. A lanai which was nice. Comfy bed. I did call for a spatula Turner to cook eggs which was missing and they brought one. But did not have any potholders!
No extra blanket which we could have used. We compensated by using extra sheet set.
Too much pressure to sign up for breakfast timeshare “update”. The breakfast offered was a joke. Crappy coffee, packaged rolls and muffins is not breakfast. We did get 75.00 gift card which we used for a dinner out. Not sure it was worth it.
We did like the Italian restaurant and the Mexican one. We also went to a Spider-Man movie in their theatre one night.
We couldn’t believe they charged extra for their little waterpark. I’d be pissed if I was an owner there and had to pay extra for that. We did like their pool. The grounds are very nice. Definitely not enough disabled parking spots. Only 2 for our building. We only got one one night out of 6. My husband has no hip and uses crutches so was hard on him.

When you book the hotel the address all over it says Orlando but it is really in Kissimmee. You try to find the one in Orlando and it is the wrong resort so you continue to travel around and end up at a residential only to call them to find out you are no where near where you wanted to stay. Then you get to hotel and they automatically start to try to sell you their “vacation package” which you are stupid enough to fall for because it will only take you 1-1/2 hours was actually 4 looooong hours. Then you get to the room which they called a delux you paid for to get the standard because “owners” would all of a sudden be booking their room so they get first crack at it. But you learned in the 4 hour tour that the owner needs to book 30 days out so they bait and switch. The sofa mattress was awful. Then if you need anything just call 12345 and they will bring it. At 1:00 pm I called for a blanket nothing at 9:00 pm I go to the lobby and they smart $$$ says all you have to do is dial 12345 when I told him I did he said I guess you don’t understand 12345 they will have it there it 15 minutes. I walked away the lady standing their says to me you can go to that desk but are you sure you checked the closest yes yes I did because I am not stupid. Now it is 10:00 I called 12345 again... and by the way over prices terrible food if you are stupid enough to eat here.

Let me start off by saying we are very low maintenance guests, we put up the ‘do not disturb’ sign and enjoy our stay. I have worked in hotels for a long time so I’m aware of the ins and outs of the industry and I have great respect for the employees. We have stayed at this property several times, as well as many other locations and have always had great experiences, our family members are owners and we’re part of the rewards program. We’re familiar with the room styles and love the jacuzzi tub and the coziness of the rooms. However, this time, it was absolutely awful. We booked our room last minute and requested a specific room number, of course we know that is not a guarantee, but not only did we not get the room we requested, we got a room that we did not book at all. Of all the times we have stayed at different Westgate locations, we have never had this room type. Its not even an option on the website. When I mentioned the room request at check in the gentleman said there was a group in house that were occupying a lot of rooms, then said to his coworker, ‘this is the room we have so this is the room they’re getting’. I assumed he meant it was the same type of room, just not the exact room number we requested. If I had known the type of room we wanted was not available we would not have booked. I can understand that, seeing as how it was a last minute booking, but what I don’t understand is how they allowed us to book the room (I called and spoke to reservations) if they didn’t have that type of room available. A bait and switch. We checked in later in the evening, when we got to the room it was set at 66 degrees and the temperature for the evening was going into the low 30’s, we raised the temperature to 72 but it never budged over 66 degrees the entire time. We stay with (and pay for) our two small, well behaved dogs, and they were shivering the entire time, instead of enjoying the room, we spent it burrowed under blankets to stay warm. It should be advertised on their website or told when booking that the hotel doesn’t have heat. Not a typical Florida problem, but when you’re spending the day outside at parks it’s nice to come back to a WARM room. I tried to take a bath in the kid sized bathtub, but the water was barely warm at all. Another let down. The walls were paper thin, we could hear every single word spoken by the people in the room next to us, even with the tv on. We heard dishes being moved, chairs on the floor, everything was incredibly loud due to no carpeting and very thin walls. We were also woken up ALL NIGHT LONG, by their dog barking it’s head off and them yelling at their dog to shut up. On the other side of the wall was the elevator shaft that ran constantly. Needless to say, we got no sleep for the two nights that we stayed there. On the day of our departure three housekeepers were knocking on our door at 9:50am. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Ultimately, we paid $675 for two nights of loud, cold, and uncomfortable sleepless nights. This experience was beyond disappointing, especially considering it was Christmas and this is a place we have enjoyed so much in the past. Next time we’ll try a Disney/universal property.

Good Morning, Thank you for reviewing your stay at Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa. Our resort experiences high demand, however we do our very best to ensure all of our guests receive their requested room as it is on a first come first serve basis. We apologize for the inconvenience of our hot water and heat being down for a period of time. Our maintenance team worked hard to rectify this issue in a timely manner. Additionally, while we cannot control the actions of each individual guest at our resort, we do respond accordingly once we are notified of any noise issues. We regret to know that your stay at our resort was not as exceptional as previous stays. Westgate hopes you will re-visit us in the future so we may restore your trust in us. Best Regards, Westgate Social Media Support

I booked a 2 night stay and arrived at 11pm ,as soon as I got to my room 638B there was a problem I was given a connecting room. the unit 638A is a 2 bedroom unit, together the units makes a 3 bed room, the guest next door most likely didn’t want a 3 bed room so the resort rented out the 3rd bed room to me( unacceptable ). I booked a studio and was given a 3rd bed room in someone else’s unit ,the lock connecting the rooms was open it was basically 1 door just like the ones in your home it’s like I was in the kids room and my neighbors were in my living room I could hear everything and vise Versa. Security had to come up to lock the connecting door I seen my neighbors when security opened the connecting door so very uncomfortable, I told security I did not feel safe and wanted to move and was told to speak to a manager I went to front desk and asked for a supervisor and (Ryan) stated he was the supervisor I explained the room was horrible and was told why didn’t I say something sooner. No help what so ever did not change my room ,refund me he just put a note in the computer system saying I did not like the room given to me .On top of that maintenance had to come up to fix the balcony door and bathroom door I checked in at 11pm ,room is supposed to be ready at 4pm and they fixing all this stuff now ? Next morning I was told I can use the amenities at the sister property Westgate resort and spa I drove 30 mins and was told I could not use the amenities. When I got back to my resort to tell (Ryan) I was asked if I was given an amenities card I said no when he was the one who told me I can use the sister property’s amenities. My room was freezing I shut my AC off but since I’m actually in a 3rd bed room my neighbors AC is connected to my room I’m receiving the cold air from unit 638A what a horrible stay the room was dirty staff doesn’t care about you once they’ve received your money, and on top of all the maintenance and security coming to my room and me wasting 30 mins driving to a sister property and getting denied, I asked if I could do a late check out and was told (NO) on top of all these problems I’ve had. I will never give any Westgate brand a penny of my money ,my family’s money, my friends ,coworkers ,anyone that’s willing to listen money , stay away these are horrible people that run this place.

Hello, Osu. Thank you very much for taking a moment to leave us feedback regarding your recent visit with us. We're sorry to hear you had a unfortunate scenario occur during your stay. Were you able to speak to anyone at our front desk or a supervisor/manager on duty to see if they could address the issues entirely? It is our mission to provide our guests with the best experience at Westgate, and we understand this wasn't the case for you this time. We'll take the right approach to ensure corrections so future guests and yourself won't have this same outcome. Stayed here for 4 days . Really great staffs. Very nice and welcoming. My room was very clean. Beds we’re comfortable. Amazing jacuzzi tub. We had a beautiful pool view. And the location was the best part. Nearby Walmart and many food places . So we didn’t go far and that’s all because everything was nearby. Only issue was that we had do not disturb on our door while we was out and when we return a half drinking juice box was in our room. No one in that room but or drank any juice box , seemed like someone was in our room . Luckily nothing was missing but was a lil scary. So definitely marked down because of that .

Staying here all week mightve been a struggle cause I booked a studio and saw on the website it wasn't a kitchen. Just to typical microwave and small fridge. However, I got there and found out I was able to get a studio with a kitchen and boy was it helpful. I really enjoyed staying there. Now the only complaint I had was having to pay for WIFI. Reason being is on the website i read the resort fee included wifi. Now I am not sure because Interval International week did not include the wifi but it was a bummer. Still I got the week long wifi cause i did need it. Due to its location, if I decide to do another week long type of deal (I live in tampa so I don't normally do this) I wouldn't mind staying here again

Thank you for reaching out! We are a non-smoking resort but do have designated smoking areas at our properties for guests. Guests may smoke on their balcony but we do have a strict cleanliness policy and if the room does smell like smoke, the resort does charge for an extra cleaning. We hope this information was helpful.
