Stayed there in August of 21. The hotel is lovely. Recently done up, everything was very clean with a modern and fresh feel. We booked two rooms, a family suite and the Marathon suite and both rooms were nice and spacious. The Marathon suite comes with its own little garden, the family suite comes with an additional bedroom and a huge bathroom. Service was top notch. Staff at the front desk and the pool bar / restaurant were always very polite and helpful. The pool was a very decent size with a nice shallow end for the little ones (1.20m). The only thing which was somewhat disappointing was that the bar and restaurant close at 5pm so the hotel is failry dead in the evenings, there isn't anything to do and you dont see anyone around so you have to venture out. Luckily there are plenty or restaurants, cafes and bars just across the street so that's not too much of a concern unless there are mobility issues. I understand from the staff that the early closure is Covid related, so this may not be the case in the future. Recommend

Loved the resort. Very authentically Greek. Hotel is in a great location by harbour. Get there early to see fishermen selling their catches. Great Greek breakfast. Lovely pool and pool bar serving food and drinks during the day. Very genuine friendly helpful staff (Olga at pool bar and Lisa on reception) and the best free Wi-Fi in every area. Fridges in rooms. Room tip 213 was by us and has a front and side sea view. No lifts but only two floors. Pick up a bike FOC from reception - very flat area. 70 tortoises live around the foliage of the grounds. Another tip if you want to go to Athens a taxi is about €55 - reception will sort. Absolutely loved it here …. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

We arrived at this hotel after Aegean Airlines offered us overnight accommodation because their flights were delayed and we missed the connection. Clean, decent rooms, air conditioning, balcony, a stone's throw from the sea. The bathroom needs renovation.

Terrible service for $200 per night. Breakfast consisted of white bread and a few slices of cheese. Numerous friends were refused a second room key so we couldn't keep AC on while out of the room despite 34°C air temperature, then we were instructed not to change the AC settings. No toiletries in the bathroom. Phone didn't work. Shower leaked all over the floor, one friend fell in the bathroom as a result. One iron and no ironing table available to the entire hotel while we were staying for a wedding. Water to the entire hotel was off on our last morning before flying home, meaning no showers/taps or working toilets.
1 star only because the bar staff were pleasant and the location was good.

We spent 1 night in this hotel due to flight transfer, sent by the company aegean airlines. When we arrived, the employee (bold guy) gave us 2 rooms for wife, 2 kids and me. Without mentionning there would be a litte problem : our rooms were located just Over an outside night club ! Even with the windows closed you can hardly hear a person speak in the bedroom ! And he gave these rooms to a familly with young kids ! Unbeleivable ! I called him to change rooms, he said there were the last ones. When I called again few minutes later, he said he wasn’t responsible for the rooms dispatch (there were other rooms obviously !). He said he would call the club to ask to lower the music. Nothing happened ! He ensured the music would stop at midnight: of course not ! It stopped after 3.30am ! It was saturday night !
This guy was a lier ! And didn t care at all about my kids ! As a result, my kids felt asleep at 2am, and my wife and I didn’t sleep for a minut ! We had to leave the hotel at 5.30 am to catch our flight.
When we left, I was obvisouly extremely mad and the famous employee finally admitted these rooms should never be given to anyone, and especially not to familly / kids !
To sum up : worst employee ever (lier ! And doesn’t care about your children or you) and this hotel is a scandal. NEVER GO THERE PLEASE ! I will repeat as much as necessary everywhere and by every mean

Absolutely loved our time at Marathon Beach Resort. The facilities are top-notch, the pool area is perfect for relaxation, and the beachfront location is unbeatable, and is also very close to the airport! Highly recommend for a family vacation!

Awful room allocation over a busy noisy bar that blared out music until midnight. Rang Reception to complain at 10 pm but told it was a separate business. Checked out a day early as it was so awful. Disgusting that they have rooms over such a noisy bar and dont sound proof them. Managed to park car but parking extremely limited in very busy area. Checked in and told room on 1st floor but no lift so had to use a 'ramp' to get up which quite a long ramp and not easy to use. Breakfast disappointing. Coffee machine and machine dispense for 'juice' that was like watered down squash.

We stayed at Marathon Beach Resort for a week and had a great stay. The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. The pool and gardens are well maintained. We had a room which had direct access to the pool area. All of the staff were very polite and helpful. Car parking was also plentiful. There are a variety of restaurants close by. A great base in the Attica region with Athens close by and easy access to the airport. I would thoroughly recommend Marathon Beach Resort.

We returned for a one night stop after flying into Athens Airport before continuing to the Sporades. We had visited in 2018 for a couple nights and were happy with our choice. The room is clean, a simple design and conveniently located. We slept well, the bed was comfortable. A warm welcome greeted us, parking is easy, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. We have no hesitation returning to Marathon Beach Resort.

Currently staying here and absolutely love the place! If you want 'real Greece' then come here! Room is clean and basic but what more do you need? Pool area is lovely, bar is brilliant with fantastic staff. Food is delicious and very generous portions, club Sandwich is enough for 2. Lisa on reception is amazing and will help you with anything. Lovely restaurants close by and a coastal path to some pretty beaches, what's not to like?

no kitchen or any other facilities in the room, in fact the food and drinks are very expensive. I would not advise staying at this hotel - we came back on 28th August 2018
Hi! I totally agree with dudegr's answer! It will be a bit cold also in terms of swimming in the sea but if you rent a car there will be lots to do! Hotel is lovely though! Enjoy!
The weather could be splendid but the sea will be a little cold to swim. The area can be windy so mornings and evenigs are cool. Does not rain very much at that time of year.
There are more places to choose from in the Nea Makri area.
