Having a non-judgemental space to process feelings, reactions, and ways of moving forward can make a huge difference. I believe therapy can be helpful for exploring your relationship with yourself, changing specific behaviours, fostering more meaningful relationships, or being witnessed in something difficult you’ve been through. I approach whatever brings you into therapy with gentle curiosity and the belief that together we can find avenues to support your growth.

Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, down, or disconnected? Is there a critical voice in your head that just won't give you space? Are you caught up in unhelpful patterns that you can’t seem to break? It’s no secret that life can be painful, messy, and challenging. Maybe you find yourself struggling to navigate the hardships you’re facing, or maybe survival mode is all you’ve ever known. Whatever you’re going through, you don’t need to carry it alone.

Do you feel STUCK? When we feel stuck we start to question our life’s purpose and often start to doubt past and future decisions. Feeling stuck can often lead to confusion, hopelessness, fear, paralysis and lack of motivation. These experiences can generally cause anxiety, panic, depression and generally a low quality of life. Although these feelings can be incredibly painful and may lead you to feel helpless, it’s important to remind yourself that with the right support, you can change your life.

I work with post-trauma injuries that are accumulated over time. My specialty is treating post-trauma injuries (PTSD) that are accumulated over multiple incidents seen within first responder populations such as police, RCMP, Canadian Forces and health care professionals. I also work with survivors of childhood trauma. If you are experiencing flashbacks, nightmares, agoraphobia, hyper-vigilance, intrusive thoughts or images, I use EMDR to treat these symptoms. Sometimes, my clients need a safe place to understand what has happened to them. If that's you I am here to listen.

Being a human is hard. Sometimes, the waves of the human experience feel like they’re engulfing us, and we feel swallowed up by sorrow, terror, shame, stress, or confusion. Other times, we may feel so disconnected from ourselves and the world around us that we wonder if a meaningful life is possible. Perhaps there are parts of your mind and heart that are fighting with each other, and you’re wrestling with constant inner turmoil. Or maybe you are tired of repeating the same old patterns and finding yourself in the same place you once were: frustrated and perplexed as to how you can break out of a cycle that is no longer serving you.

All of my professional work has been rooted in advocating for others, community building, and supporting healing and growth. I have fifteen years of experience working in violence prevention, trauma counselling and restorative justice. My work with survivors offers me a trauma-informed analysis and approach that is open and non-judgmental. I provide care within an anti-oppressive, feminist, queer, and sex-positive framework. I welcome people whose lives and identities are not often recognized or valued in the mainstream. I welcome you.

Hi there - and thank you for the visit. Asking for help and finding a counsellor who is the right fit can be quite the process. Whether you are seeking support because of some sudden shift in circumstance or a longstanding issue that is getting harder and harder to carry, I believe therapy is a unique space that can help people heal and grow and can help carry some of that weight.

Are you looking for someone who understands both your cultural background and your feelings? I am a Chinese-Canadian bilingual therapist raised by two clashing cultures. I understand the pain of separating from family. I know what it's like to grow up not getting the emotional support you needed to feel your feelings mattered. Struggling to figure out where you belong, while coping with conflicting feelings is hard to do on your own. I'd like to change that for you. With me, you will have a safe space to discover the real you, along with your deepest needs and work together on bringing those to life.

Relationship struggles can make us feel miserable, stuck and hopeless. It can feel like your whole world is crashing down when you are fighting with your loved one. At the same time, when things are going well in our relationships, we feel supported, loved and cared for, we feel like we can take on the world. Considering the powerful impact relationships have on our lives, we know little about how to build healthy ones. It is not a subject covered in school, and often our parents do not make the greatest role models. But like any skill, we can learn how to build strong and intimate relationships.

“ I believe sharing our stories about our personal experiences can awaken our awareness, stretch our hearts, and help us heal” Do you feel like you are on a path of self sabotage and feel stuck? Do you live mostly in your head where it is noisy and chaotic? I believe you can transform negative limiting beliefs, never ending fears and uncertainties. I want to help you build the skill to make healthier choices in relationships, jobs and lifestyle that don’t drain the life out of you. I know it takes courage to reach out for help. I promise I am easy to talk to and aim to make therapy both an enjoyable and forward moving process.

Counselling can be seen as planting a seed that, with nurturing and attention, will grow into something beautiful. Every individual is akin to a seed that undergoes continual growth, advancing through each fleeting season filled with moments of happiness, sorrows, triumphs, bravery, disappointments, and fresh starts. Like seeds, humans require sources and resources to aid them in reaching their full potential, such as sunlight, rain, and soil. And just like every seed holds importance, every human being also possesses inherent value. By choosing to seek counseling, you have taken the first step towards transformation.

There are various issues that come up in life, from every day life stresses to unimaginable trauma. We all cope differently with what life has given us and heal in our own unique way. I am passionate about therapy as I have personally experienced, witnessed and facilitated immense healing through the therapeutic process. Human beings are social with a deep drive toward contact and connection. Regardless of what we have experienced in life there is an accessible pathway for all of us back to the core of our being where a true sense of self worth, peace and contentment reside.

My ideal client would be someone who has been feeling stuck and down on him/herself for quite a while. Even though he/she has been trying various self-help techniques and advice from well meaning friends, the feelings of stress/anxiety/discouragement/grief/pain/overwhelm have become unbearable; a history of trauma only adds to all of this. What she/he wants most is to get back to living a full life without being dragged down by doubts, fears, and insecurities.
