You don't want to just talk about it. You need expert skills and compassionate guidance to actually heal the parts of your brain that have been stuck. You want to build your best life, but it's been slow going when you're dealing with the aftermath of trauma or your relationship is in turmoil. Or perhaps you're grieving and need expert support to navigate through and heal this pain. What you need is someone who is equipped to help you process your grief, trauma, anxiety or relationship issues, and provide you with a safe place where you can share your story and receive therapy that works.

I believe therapy goes beyond just talk, a chance to explore parts of ourselves that have been shut away in order to make it through the day. If you choose, I would love to start this journey with you and explore what is needed to work towards healing and growth.

Gillian has provided treatment to children, youth, and families of various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds in both acute and community mental health settings. A significant portion of her clinical experience has come from working in non-profit organizations such as the Mood Disorders Association of BC and Cameray Child and Family Services.

The decision to reach out to a counsellor takes courage and I'm proud of you for taking this step. I have been working in the counselling field for over ten years and it is my greatest joy and pleasure to support people in their journey towards healing. I offer a safe space to explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that may be causing you to feel unhappy or stuck. I've been told that I'm easy to talk to and my goal is that you would feel safe and warm in my presence. I build rapport easily and clients say they feel heard and cared for. My hope is that our connection will be the foundation of our work together.

I believe the core of human development is physiological, psychological and spiritual. Supportive therapy can help awaken an individual's dormant spirit and guide them through profound personal transformations. I work with adults, couples, and groups. I apply client-centered Lifespan Integration (LI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In addition, I add a Cross-Cultural approach when working with my immigrant clients (Iranians & other immigrant communities). LI: The human mind develops interactively in response to the early childhood environment. The developing neural system "hardwire" interprets events and stays with individuals throughout their lifetime.

We are not expected to heal from our physical wounds without professional care, psychological wounds are no different. Psychotherapy is a culture-based therapy effort that requires deep understanding between therapist and clients. As a result, commonality in language, components of social perception, political, and historical backgrounds enhance the outcome of psychotherapy.

I am a certified clinical counsellor working with individuals, couples, children and families. My practice encourages a holistic approach where I help clients to heal by providing tools for awareness and recognizing their entire human and life experience in an integrative approach to healing the mind. The therapeutic modalities used in session will depend on the client’s needs. However, I have a specialized focus on complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression, abuse, stress, emotional overwhelm and work/life balance. The work I do is a person centred approach, following the needs of the client to where they want to go.

Hi and welcome! I appreciate that it takes courage and strength to start this process. Sometimes, we need help to work through issues. You don't have to deal with your struggles, questions, grief, anxiety, depression, and all of life’s other servings alone. In a non-judgmental, confidential and safe space, shifts can begin to take place. I utilize various modalities, but always come from a person-centered, trauma-informed, and compassion focused lens. I believe in the strength and resilience in every person, and that includes you! Your story matters. You matter…and you deserve healing and happiness.
