Trauma impacts how we see the world, navigate through our experiences, and connect with others. You are not the product of a single experience or relationship but sometimes one experience can feel so overwhelming that it overtakes over all others. Together, you can start to dream about what life will look like if this problem or memory is no longer an obstacle.

Hi, I'm Nicole (she/her). Maybe you're feeling stuck...you know what the problem is but not what to do next. Maybe you've been experiencing worry, or a sense of 'what's the point?' about your life. Maybe you're feeling really alone. Maybe you've recognized that the past is creeping into your present, and old patterns are affecting the relationships you are in today. Maybe you've even been to therapy before but haven't seen the change you want to see. If you're in a space where you're not feeling like yourself, you're not alone, I have felt this way too, and I know how much courage it takes to even start considering asking for help.

I work virtually with many individuals who are facing struggles with their day to day life including grief, stress, anxiety, depression and major life transitions. If there is an identified issue that you would like to work through we can tackle that together, though sometimes there is just a deep desire for life to be easier and to remove the obstacles that we all can find in our way from being truly happy and fully expressed. Whether there are specific concerns or general worries, I can help identify what stands in your way and together we can create a plan to lead you to your most fully expressed version of yourself.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the constant pressure to measure up? You may constantly battle racing thoughts, struggling to focus, and feeling restless about various aspects of your life. While striving for excellence and witnessing others' success, you're often left feeling anxious, inadequate, and behind. Even when you perform well and receive praise, you still doubt your achievements, feeling unworthy or as though there's more you should be doing. It is incredibly challenging for you to communicate your feelings and needs to others because you feel guilty asking for help and fear you may burden others.

My therapeutic approach has been influenced by a range of disciplines and anti-oppressive frameworks - however, my practice is most influenced by Narrative Therapy. Narrative therapy invites the therapist and person seeking change to work collaboratively in unpacking unhelpful narratives that are carried and re-authoring our own narratives towards new, helpful changes. Problems often dominate the story of who we are and help us to make unhelpful conclusions about ourselves. In fact, many people report that those problems can completely consume their sense of who they are. From this approach, I hold the stance that ‘you are not the problem, the problem is the problem’ (White, M) and together, we can explore how problems may be dominating your story, working together to re-author it. In my experience I have worked with many individuals, families, and couples renegotiating their relationship to various problems. Contact me today to discuss re-authoring your narrative.

Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or untethered from the ground you once walked on? If you're used to being the one who people come to for guidance or support, it can be unsettling when you are now the one who needs care. The past few years have been so hard on caring people, even the most generous person can eventually feel emptied out. I'm here to help reconnect you with the things in your life that nourish your soul and replenish your spirit. Together we can look at ways to preserve your peace and wellbeing, with body awareness, learning to set gentle boundaries with loved ones, and by cultivating an inner compass that you can rely on.

Hello. I work with individuals and groups using Expressive Arts Therapy methods and philosophy. It is an arts-based approach that recognizes our personal inherent wisdom. In the Expressive Arts we use creative mediums such as painting, poetry, music, dance, theatre, movement, photography, (and more!) as a means to explore the psyche. Trusting the process of art making and play helps us to highlight our personal resources and understand ourselves in a deeper, more meaningful way. When we work intuitively and playfully we connect with who we are, how we operate, and how we can help perpetuate a nurturing life for ourselves.

Being a human is hard. Sometimes, the waves of the human experience feel like they’re engulfing us, and we feel swallowed up by sorrow, terror, shame, stress, or confusion. Other times, we may feel so disconnected from ourselves and the world around us that we wonder if a meaningful life is possible. Perhaps there are parts of your mind and heart that are fighting with each other, and you’re wrestling with constant inner turmoil. Or maybe you are tired of repeating the same old patterns and finding yourself in the same place you once were: frustrated and perplexed as to how you can break out of a cycle that is no longer serving you.

From a young age, I have loved listening to people's stories and being a supportive person helping others explore their inner world. I commonly work with folks who are wanting help with anxiety, perfectionism, their inner critic, feeling lost, chronically feeling low mood, having difficulty with their friendships and romantic partnerships, coping as best as they can after traumatic experiences and wanting additional support from a professional, and overall just folks who want to understand themselves better.

People are not their diagnoses even though these labels can sometimes be informative. I prefer to get to know you. Specifically, what do you want out of therapy? What is currently working for you, not working? What brings you in to see me in this moment? I believe that therapy is not only about reducing our suffering, but also finding meaning and fulfillment in our lives. It is about getting to know ourselves, parts that we love, parts that we are afraid of, parts that we don't yet understand. People are also not things that need to be "fixed", instead, this is a place for healing, self-compassion, and growth.
