Environmental and Racial Justice Network Spring Summit 

April 11 | April 12 | In-Person & Virtual

The Environmental and Racial Justice Network hosted a two-part ERJN Spring Summit. The in-person fireside chat on Thursday focused on food justice. The Spring Summit also featured a virtual component on April 12 with guest speakers Jasmine Davenport, the Senior Advisor for Climate Justice at the EPA, and climate scientist, strategist, and advocate, and Dr. Robert Bullard, founder of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University and credited as being the ‘Father of Environmental Justice’.

The Climate Opera Project

The Climate Opera Project was a collection of four 15-minute operas for Earth Day 2024 that depicted unlikely heroes as the planet nears the impending cataclysm of human-influenced natural disasters. From a vengeful polar bear watching its habitat disappear to a water-stealing cactus, The Climate Opera Project tackled the climate crisis with humor and hope.

Green Jobs Fair

NYU’s inaugural Green Jobs Fair, an interdisciplinary career fair, connected organizations with students who have the skills to tackle intricate sustainability and climate-related challenges.

NYU Climate & Sustainability Opinion Essay Competition 

Submission Deadline: Friday, April 12 at 5 PM

Write an opinion essay in which you make a short, persuasive, evidence-based argument related to the climate crisis and the challenges of sustainability. The essay should be between 750-1000 words. Winners have now been announced!
