Information Technology Referral Program

Did you know that you can receive a monetary award for referring an applicant who gets hired for a position with NYU IT?

If the applicant is hired for an eligible professional position within NYU's IT unit and passes the probation period, the referring employee will receive $1,000, subject to appropriate taxes.

If you are referring an applicant for the program, the applicant must have applied online. You must then fill out the NYU Refer form (NYU Login required).

Note: The Office of Talent, Learning, and Organizational Development will ultimately make all eligibility decisions for both the applicant and referring employee.

Full Guidelines for Referral Eligibility

Eligibility for the referring employee:

A full-time regular NYU employee below the director level
Refer an applicant for an eligible administrative professional job within NYU IT
Not be the supervisor or subsequent supervisor of the hired employee referral
Not be responsible for recruiting and/or referring qualified staff for information technology positions as part of their job, whether in University Human Resources or in any school/division
Not a member of the job's hiring/search committee
Be actively employed and in good standing at the time the reward is given

Eligibility for the applicant:

Be an external applicant (not a student, casual or temporary employee, agency employee, independent contractor, or a consultant to NYU)
If a former employee, not have worked for NYU for at least 12 months
Be hired for an eligible position in NYU IT and pass the six-month probation
