NYU offers engaging, hands-on enrichment programs for young students grades 6-8 to help prepare them for success as they chart their academic futures.

Led by NYU faculty, our middle school programs are designed to inspire young students and teach them concepts and skills outside of standard middle school curricula. NYU provides a supportive, fun, academically rich environment for students to explore their interests and talents and connect with peers that share their curiosity and creativity.

NYU's middle school programs are designed for students of varying levels of knowledge and academic experience. Our programs offer hands-on learning experiences that enhance students' understanding of a variety of academic subjects, including math, science, engineering, humanities, and the arts.

Students develop essential skills that prepare them for academic success, such as critical thinking, collaboration, relationship building, and communication. Through classes, projects, and activities, students learn to put theory into practice in fun and engaging ways.

With one exception, NYU Middle School Programs are offered exclusively to students grades 6-8 who are local to the New York City area and able to commute to our NYU's Brooklyn and/or Manhattan campuses. The Online Math Program for Young Minds is open to middle school students across the U.S. and internationally.

Many NYU Middle School programs are designed for students who will be the first in their family to attend college and students from communities that are underrepresented in higher education. Please read the program descriptions and eligibility requirements before applying.
