In Dialogue
NYU in Dialogue is a new series of events designed to grow our capacity to listen, to learn, to value different perspectives, and to flourish. The series brings together great minds from across our University and guests from around the world for events, workshops, and performances that will stimulate thoughtful conversations about the pressing issues of the day. NYU in Dialogue launched this spring with a lineup of renowned speakers and new opportunities for our community to practice the skills needed to bridge divides and move the world forward.
This new initiative reaffirms an old NYU principle: that engagement and collaboration are the best ways forward — a time-honored theory reflected in our unmatched global network, our energizing campus without walls, and our groundbreaking research.

Student-Led Efforts to Promote Dialogue
Several student leaders with deep experience promoting dialogue have volunteered to pilot their ideas and frameworks on campus, in close partnership with faculty and staff. Leveraging diverse experiences and perspectives, these student-led efforts have been tested in small groups during the spring of 2024.
Co-Curricular Programs in Development
A partnership with the Constructive Dialogue Institute brought research-backed learning programs to NYU resident assistants (RAs) in the spring of 2024. This fall, all NYU students living in a residence hall will participate in an expanded program — developed in partnership with CDI — to help them build, practice, and hone the skills they need to engage across differences with respect and curiosity.
