How not to be evil

How not to be evil

Some of you might remember when Google’s motto was “Don’t be evil.” And it’s true—the OG tech innovators really did want to build a better world. It’s time to reignite that impulse to do good by finding ways technology can support the nonprofit sector. In this week’s Lead Line, we’re celebrating the people who are working to make the world a better place—and encouraging the tech industry to follow suit.

2 million reasons to help the nonprofit sector solve world challenges

Good intentions are nice…money is better

Generally speaking, nonprofit organizations are big on heart, but low on cash. It’s up to corporations to recognize and support the important work they do by donating technology and funds to help them realize their vision. Even better? Partnering with other companies to increase access to these valuable resources. Here’s how the ServiceNow.org Partnership for Good Grant gives tech companies an opportunity to do the right thing.

How nonprofit organizations are using emerging tech to do more with less

Meet the technology MacGyvers of the nonprofit world

Nonprofits measure their success by a different kind of ROI: return on impact. And because they often do it on a shoestring budget, they’re masters at finding clever ways to do more with less. This also applies to their use of technology. This article looks at a handful of nonprofits that run lean, work smart, and are incubators for tech innovation.

Partnering to empower youth for a more inclusive digital future

Supporting the next generation of diverse digital leaders

In a world where only 22% of AI workers are women, getting girls up to speed is critical to ensure that they are part of the rapidly evolving AI revolution.

I had my own little "tech warrior" moment almost 10 years ago when I was helping small companies use as many open source products as possible and once upton a time Google was on that list. I still push for Ubuntu, Fedora and Open office whenever my friends are feeling the entrepreneurial spirit and want to build more for less. Good read.

Indeed even more powerful when for-profit businesses can do the right thing.
