Wow, what a month that was! 🌈 The Pride LGBTQIA+ Business Resource Group and I organised many different Pride activities and events throughout June at Kohler Mira. Our mission is to create a greater sense of belonging and inclusion for all associates and the broader LGBTQIA+ communities where we live and work. And have fun while doing it!! We were joined by a range of inspiring guest speakers, who educated us through their stories and lived experiences. I feel very lucky to be part of a forward thinking business that encourages and drives positive change within both our workplace and the community that we operate. The Pride BRG is just one example and I appreciate all the individuals who came together to support and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride Month may be over for another year, but I look forward to being part of the team at Kohler Mira that continues to drive change both within and outside of the workplace. I’m pleased to announce that after completing my Business Apprenticeship with Kohler Mira, I have started my new role as Marketing Assistant! What a fantastic couple of years it’s been, filled with plenty of opportunities and new experiences. Here are a few of my favourite memories. Thank you to everyone who has supported and mentored me. Myself and the Early Careers team at Kohler Mira have set ourselves the challenge of running, walking, swimming or cycling 1500 miles in the month of May, all in support of Dementia UK. 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes… Cancer Research UK is a charity very close to my heart, having had relatives & family friends affected by this awful disease. On April 9th I’ll be in the boxing ring, taking part in my first ever boxing match with Ultra White Collar Boxing, raising money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Training has been tough so far, but I’ve enjoyed every session and have learnt so much by pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
