Did you know that in 2000, Aflac, at the time called American Family Life Insurance Company, had less than 10% brand awareness? We'll CEO Dan Amos did, and after brand awareness failed to improve much by changing the name to Aflac, he embraced a duck to lift the company's fortunes. Despite being, "scared to death" to make light of the company's name with a cute mascot, he took a leap of faith and trusted his agency partner to give it a go. The rest is history. Today, Aflac is one of the most recognizable brands in the U.S. thanks in large part to its iconic, fun-loving duck. For all you fellow brand enthusiasts, you can enjoy this transformational story first hand from Amos on The Monica Pearson Show. #branding #brandawareness #marketing #advertising Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Thanks Maura Webber Sadovi for allowing our Chief Accounting Officer, Alissa Vickery to share her perspective on addressing new and pending ESG reporting regulations with your readers. It's a complex and evolving situation that Corpay is proactively approaching in a strategic and systematic manner so were fully prepared to meet ESG disclosure requirements now and in the future.
When the Securities and Exchange Commission passed its long-awaited climate-risk disclosure rule in March, Corpay’s Chief Accounting Officer Alissa Vickery took notice. Even as the rule has since been stayed by the court, the SEC vote put forthcoming environmental social and governance regulations back on the list of topics the Atlanta-based payments company needs to address, she recently told CFO Dive. “That was the initial catalyst,” Vickery said in an interview in which she also described how the payments company has since March doubled down on mapping a path forward toward a future in which it will collect and report audit-grade environmental data. “I’m kind of grateful for [the SEC decision] because it was quite difficult to try and make a decision on something that didn’t really exist.” #accounting #climate #disclosures https://lnkd.in/de4_wnRr

Happy birthday to my fellow 50-year-old, Rubik's Cube, which admittedly may be aging better than me. No real commentary.....just nerding out with this post. I will say, speed-cubing sounds more compelling than lots of other odd/niche leagues, contests and competitions being marketed these day. #happybirthday #1974rulz #marketing #branding

I love clear, targeted OOH advertising, but this had me scratching my head during our annual family 4th of July beach trip. The banners pulled behind planes promoting $5 fried shrimp baskets or private dolphin tours make perfect sense. However, I’m not sure where this tactic fits into the strategic marketing plan of Lennar, the second largest builder in the country. I guess the argument could be made that it’s inexpensive so selling just one house is a win. However, even with beach-goers in the market for a house, does a plane banner drive any real call-to-action? Seems this budget could be better spent on more effective marketing. What do my fellow marketers think? #promotion #advertising #marketing #OOH
