Created to protect, promote and preserve the interests of the critical payments processing industry.
About us
Before the American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC), national payments processing companies were to a great extent squeezed out of the political and regulatory chain of influence, and few Georgians and politicians residing in America's "Transaction Alley" understood the importance of the industry to the state’s (and nation’s) economic success. Payment processing currently equals the entire U.S. movie industry (worldwide annual sales) and is dominated by Atlanta, just as Los Angeles dominates films. Most people don’t know about the industry and its impact, which is why the ATPC was developed - to tell the story of more than 40,000 employees right here in Georgia and an additional 105,000 people around the world on the payroll of Georgia companies. The ATPC was created to protect, promote and preserve the interests of this critical Georgia industry through proactive public relations and government affairs activities. The ATPC focused on Georgia’s Congressional Delegation to build broad Congressional support for protecting the payments processing industry, and ensuring Georgia and the U.S. are recognized as the global center of the digital economy in its first two and a half years. Successfully providing an industry voice and becoming a resource to those stakeholders has allowed the ATPC to expand its reach to other members of Congress on key committees and in positions of influence. In addition, the ATPC works with member companies, community leaders, and government officials to raise the profile of the payments processing industry in a positive light.

The ATPC and its Cyber Council had an incredibly active spring where the Cyber Council was honored to be featured at the prestigious RSA Cybersecurity Conference in San Francisco. 3,000 organizations competed to present at this event, and the Cyber Council was one of the few chosen. Led by Chair Rick Van Luvender and Director Norma Krayem with Cyber Council members including Subra Kumaraswamy, CISO at Visa, and Clarissa Banks, CISO at Deluxe, discussed key cybersecurity and artificial intelligence issues in the payments and financial services industry. Watch and listen as our Cyber Council members talk about the experience.

"It's important for the participants in the Financial Services industry to inform Members of Congress about innovation" within the industry, said Rep. Andy Barr of Kentucky, during our recent Capitol Hill fly-in. We are grateful to Rep. Barr for his steadfast support of ATPC over the years, and for his interest and engagement in the key issues affecting the payments industry.

It was terrific to speak recently at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) ICT SCRM Task Force “Innovations in ICT Supply Chain Risk Management Conference.” Kudos to Harrington M. and the entire NRMC team for a terrific event! Excellent discussion about lessons learned from the #pandemic to today’s #geopolitical conflict, issues around sourcing; vendor management; enterprise risk management issues; open-source software; Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and more! Having engaged with the NRMC and CISA since the Task Force was created, it’s good to see the progress that’s being made on these critical issues. It’s something that we will all continue to work on each and every day. #homelandsecurity #NRMC #SBOM #criticalinfrastructure #softwaresecurity #supplychainsecurity #vendormanagement #ERM #cybersecurity #ICT #nationalcriticalfunctions #ICT #ComsSCC #ITSCC
