In Healthcare Data Analytics, It's Not Just About Tech—It's About Understanding People Many friends often ask me what hard skills they can add to their resumes. I’m unsure if "hard skills" mean tech skills like SQL, Python, etc. From my work experience, I’ve deeply felt that in healthcare, tech is not the most critical aspect. (Of course, I can't deny that having more keywords on your resume is definitely beneficial.) The healthcare market is like a forest, with varying demands. The state of one company might be where another company was ten years ago. This relative chaos is hard to find in other fields, such as the finance industry. 👉 What is more universally valuable is a deep understanding of the industry, doctors, and patients. Many common practices in consumer products might not make sense in healthcare due to different regulations and policies. 👉 This is why we don’t focus on teaching a specific tech skill in the Analytics Fellow Program. Instead, we use storytelling to connect industry knowledge, business insights, and the analytical logic needed for analytics.
