😤 Cities often face crises due to the inaction of their national governments. For Montevideo, it was the water crisis. Uruguay was caught unprepared by a three-year-long drought and poor water management. When Montevideo's reservoirs dried up, the city relied on data to ensure everyone had access to clean water. 📺Clear, reliable and transparent daily updates on water quality and access points helped the city prevent a health crisis, avoid social conflicts and ensure equitable distribution among residents, essential services and businesses. Montevideo showed how #CitiesSolveCitiesDeliver, working to ensure residents' right to clean drinking water in a crisis. #UrbanPulse Intendencia de Montevideo | Guzmán Robaina Da Silva | Gabriela Pignataro

How sustainable is your city? With just 2,000 days left to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, ensuring transformative change for cities across the world on their path towards a sustainable future is vital now more than ever. The latest Arcadis Sustainable Cities Index 2024 underscores the critical need for sustainable urban development to ensure our cities are liveable, resilient, and thriving for generations to come. From Germany's commitments to significantly increase renewable energy from sources like wind and solar power by 2050, to Paris' urban forests project, although it shows many cities making good progress on their sustainability commitments, it's important for other cities to follow suit and not get left behind. Where does your city stand in the list? Find out more here: https://loom.ly/W2nhx7Y #SustainableCities #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #SDGs
