  • Imagine Nashville Draft Goals + Ideas for Action Are Online for Comment The community-led Imagine Nashville team has released a working draft of goals and ideas for action and all are invited to review them here and comment if desired. Please note: The window for public input is open through June 30, 2024. Imagine Nashville’s yearlong visioning process has been about unearthing the priorities and shared values of all who work and live in our great city and then putting forth a set of goals and ideas for action that will reflect those priorities and values serve as a guiding vision for our next 10 years. Many of you took the survey in the fall and/or have participated in meetings and conversations around this work. Thank you. This is the final opportunity for the people of Nashville to weigh in on these ideas. Please take a moment to do so by June 30, if desired. Thank you! If you have questions, please contact Imagine Nashville Project Director Samantha Wigand at samantha@imaginenashville.org.

Nashville, we want to hear from you! Today we are releasing our working draft of goals and ideas for action to guide Nashville forward over the next decade. It is available online at https://lnkd.in/e6F85cDa, and you are invited to review and provide feedback. The online feedback window is open through June 30, 2024. Since March, we have been working to take the results of our sweeping community-wide research process and to convene and consult with those who have professional and lived experiences related to the findings, including leaders from government, the business sector, philanthropy, neighborhoods, and nonprofits — as well as experts from other cities and regions. We are also continuing to engage those who the research revealed feel less belonging in Nashville, including Black/African-American residents, older adults, youth, the LGBTQIA+ community, and lower-income individuals and families. The hope is that these recommendations and ideas can help bridge that belonging gap and, in turn, forge a stronger sense of community across the city. Read more about our process and plans at imaginenashville.org.

  • We are thrilled to announce the opening of our Community Impact Grants, previously known as Discretionary Grants, starting today, June 3. This change in name better reflects the true intent and purpose of our grantmaking strategy. The grant cycle will close on June 30. These grants will focus on three key areas: 1️⃣ Arts & Creative Culture 2️⃣ Child/Youth Development & Education 3️⃣ Positive Mental Health & Quality of Life Each of these areas is integral to supporting a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone can thrive. Middle Tennesseans deserve to experience greater belonging and well-being. CFMT’s Community Impact Grants focus areas align perfectly with our unique capacity to drive meaningful change and honor the generosity of our donors, who have supported these core areas for the past 30 years. Through our Grants program, we continue to build on this legacy, ensuring that our community remains strong, creative, and resilient. We look forward to receiving your applications and working together to create a brighter future for Middle Tennessee. Connecting passion with action through storytelling.

Last week I graduated from Young Leaders Council's Spring 2024 class! 🎓 Over 11 weeks, we learned from seasoned professionals how to be an active, engaged nonprofit board member. To my fellow classmates - thank you for your enthusiasm, humor, ideas, and openness. You made each week fun and memorable. The future of Nashville is bright! Young Leaders Council would not be what it is without the leadership and hard work of Kim James, MBA, Rachel Reyes, and Holly Clark. Thank you so much for all you do to make this experience meaningful. It shows. I am especially grateful for those who encouraged me to do this and my colleagues at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Your support made this possible. Fall applications are now open. I'm happy to chat! - https://lnkd.in/g_JN6x6N

  • Today, we are reflecting the remarkable legacy of Mr. Charles Frazier who passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024. On December 14, 1998, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) established the Tapping Individual Potential (TIP) program, a scholarship initiative designed to nurture the extraordinary talents of rising fifth through eighth-grade Metro Nashville Public Schools’ students. These students, often limited by financial or other circumstances, have found opportunities to explore their skills thanks to the visionary efforts of Mr. Frazier, the program’s founder. “Mr. Frazier believed in an excellent education for all children and he had a vision to create opportunities to learn and develop their potential regardless of financial limitations or background,” said Pat Cole, former CFMT Scholarship Coordinator. “He participated in the Tapping Individual Potential program until 2021. He was a strong advocate for public education and a champion for all students regardless of their abilities or circumstances.” Learn more about Mr. Frazier and his impact through TIP >> https://lnkd.in/eudDFKTV
