If child care providers do not get the support they need, families can not access the quality care they need and economies and communities suffer. Through administrative resources, savings programs and grants, our initiative is committed to helping providers save time and money while improving quality. We do this work alongside many government and community partners because we know that child care matters to everyone. After establishing The Restoration House more than 20 years ago, Daniel and Mandy Watson realized that investing in early childhood education would enhance their mission to serve low-income families. More than half of the families Olive Tree Early Learning Academy serves are low-income, something they can only do as a nonprofit center. Olive Tree provides high-quality child care to those who need it most by involving and engaging their philanthropic community and public funding sources. "It is shocking how much high-quality child care costs per kid," says Daniel. "But I am fully confident that investment will continue to pay itself off, not just for that kid or family, but for all of us. It's worth it." #childcare #nonprofit #partnership #grants #communityfoundation #tennessee

We are proud to be one of the many organizations collaborating with Raising Readers Nashville to support and expand Middle Tennessee's child care ecosystem. Our Establishment and Expansion grants are just one piece of that puzzle. In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Human Services, our team works with multiple stakeholders to connect new and existing child care providers with grant funds, administrative resources and shared services to increase the availability of high-quality child care in Nashville and across Tennessee. A unified, collaborative approach to our child care challenges will bring meaningful and effective change for families, our communities and our economies. #childcare #ECE #nashville #communityfoundation

ChildcareTennessee works with local and regional businesses and government partners to improve child care in Tennessee’s communities. Last week, our team and the Tennessee Department of Human Services and St. Lukes Community House shared the great things happening in Nashville’s child care community with Numerica Credit Union. We hope you got some great ideas about how you can make a difference in child care from our work in Tennessee, Numerica! #childcare #communityfoundation #partnerships
We enjoyed meeting our new friends from Numerica Credit Union today! Their Board of Directors and Executive team, along with Jude White, Assistant Commissioner - Tennessee Department of Human Services and Julia Clark of ChildcareTennessee toured St. Luke's to learn more about our mission and work in early childhood education. We also highlighted our collaborative efforts with DHS and Childcare Tennessee to make childcare affordable and accessible for families.
