A full house of EMS professionals at the #MCSONJ Wednesday night as the JEMSTAR Safety Class was presented to enhance skills and knowledge about air medical operations and services. Flight Paramedic Carlos Jurjo provided an informative lecture and the NJSP/University Hospital EMS flight team from SouthStar landed at the Public Safety Center and presented a great demo. Participants included the MCSO CERT Team, Freehold EMS Youth Squad and local EMS providers. Thanks to East Freehold Fire Department who was on standby to ensure a safe landing and takeoff. #SheriffGolden commends all all for providing this valuable opportunity. Air medical helicopters are our lifesavers in the sky. The speed and versatility of them help bring critical care when time is of the essence and improves outcomes.

Fantastic job to the lifeguards who completed intense training from the Monmouth County Regional Lifeguard Academy and are at the ready to ensure the safety of beachgoers at the Jersey Shore this summer. This afternoon, #Sheriff Golden and Commissioner Director Tom Arnone attended the graduation held at the National Guard Training Center, and spoke about how important the role of a lifeguard is to keeping residents and visitors safe. They also commended the graduates for their commitment and dedication to this tough job. Lifeguards train a total of 100 hours at the academy. The participating towns are Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, Avon and SEA GIRT BEACH, NJ Sea Girt Beach Patrol as well as the Monmouth County Park System.

With another scorcher on tap and today's high temps reaching into the 90s, #SheriffGolden and the #MCSONJ are reminding all to Look Before You Lock. Temperatures rise fast in parked cars and can become extremely dangerous. Also, be sure to feel a car seat and buckles before placing a child in them during extreme heat.

The #MCSONJ's OEM Community Emergency Response Team, CERT, braved the sweltering heat this past weekend at the Garden State Amateur Radio Association's open house in Ocean Township, where they set up the #MCSONJ equipment display and participated in recruitment and community outreach. The event is held every year in June across North America, where hams (who are amateur radio operators) set up temporary transmitting stations to demonstrate their impressive skills and service to our communities and nation. Members of CERT were proud to be a part of Field Day which has been held since 1933 and is the most popular event in ham radio. #SheriffGolden commends all for their great efforts.
