This year's class presents an impressive mix of individuals from acclaimed medical schools from around the globe. Why? Our aim is to compile a diverse class that is a composite of the community we serve, said Abdulla Ghori, MD, Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, MetroHealth Campus, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. "We want to make sure, to the best of our ability, that the class is a composite of the community MetroHealth serves. Underrepresented minorities. Languages such as Arabic, Chinese and Spanish that are spoken by immigrant patient population. Members of the LGBTQ+ community. People with broad range of backgrounds and life experience. We like to get a mix of everything."

Congratulations to MetroHealth's David Fiser – Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer – who was recently recognized by Becker's Hospital Review as one of its "CIOs to Know." Fiser leads a team of nearly 200 professionals and oversees the strategic direction of MetroHealth's information technology systems. Other responsibilities include ongoing cybersecurity enhancements, digital transformation activities and upgrades to our electronic medical records system. According to Becker's, the 133 individuals on its list are driving technology and health IT initiatives across the nation. They lead talented teams and are responsible for integrating the latest technologies into their hospitals and health systems, including electronic health record systems, data management services, cybersecurity software and telehealth services.
