Brad Lomax was an African American disability rights activist and a member of the Black Panther Party. As a person with Multiple Sclerosis that used a wheelchair, he played a critical role in the 504 Sit-in, a pivotal event in the disability rights movement where activists occupied a federal building in San Francisco to demand the implementation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which prohibits discrimination based on disability. Lomax's involvement bridged the civil rights and disability rights movements, highlighting the intersectionality of these causes and contributing to the advancement of disability rights legislation.

The DiGeronimo Companies 7th Annual Co-op Service Project is officially complete! Every year, our co-ops get hands-on experience in project management by running their own local service project. They collaborate to identify a project, determine the scope of work, set achievable goals, develop the schedule, and raise funds to complete the project. This summer, the co-ops partnered with OhioGuidestone, a leader in community behavioral healthcare in Ohio, to enhance Marsten Farm in Olmsted Falls. They created a vibrant sensory garden with local plants, wind chimes, and a solar-powered bird bath while also clearing walking trail and adding railings to boost safety. A huge thank you to OhioGuidestone and Marsten Farms for making this project possible and helping our co-ops give back to the community!
