Progress in the fight to end hunger by 2030 remains stalled according to the 2024 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World Report. 🛑 Released this week by FAO, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), World Food Programme, World Health Organization, and UNICEF, the report finds that 733 million people, or 1 in 11, faced hunger in 2023. 🌾 While there has been some progress toward ending malnutrition, the world is still not on track to reach any of the 7 global nutrition targets by 2030. 😔 The report emphasizes the need to increase financing and cooperation for food security and nutrition. 🤝 In the lead up to the 2025 Nutrition for Growth Summit, we're working with our partners to advocate for increased support for critical investments to combat global hunger and malnutrition. 💜🤍 Read more: https://vist.ly/3fxg7 #SOFI2024 #SDG2 #ZeroHunger #FoodSecurity #malnutrition #hunger #nutrition #N4G2025 #NutritionForGrowth

Vision: A world where no one is deprived of the opportunity to live a healthy life – and reach their true potential.
About us
Helen Keller, our co-founder, envisioned a world without barriers to human potential. Guided by her fierce optimism, Helen Keller Intl has been working on the front lines of health and well-being for more than 100 years. We deliver life-changing health care to vulnerable families in places where the need is great, but access is limited. Our proven, science-based programs empower people to create opportunities in their own lives. Since we were founded in 1915, our work has evolved from providing assistance to soldiers blinded during their service in World War I. Today, our programs prioritize preventing and treating vision loss and blindness—as well as addressing major global health problems such as malnutrition and neglected diseases that threaten sight, productivity, and well-being. In the U.S., Africa, and Asia, Helen Keller International’s proven, science-based programs empower people to create opportunities in their own lives and build lasting change. We build the capacity of local government, non-profit and private sector systems and infrastructure, and promote the development of sustained, large scale programs that deliver effective solutions to preventable vision loss and malnutrition. Guided by Helen’s vision and optimism, we believe it is possible to eliminate preventable vision loss, malnutrition, and neglected tropical diseases and improve the well-being of millions of children and vulnerable families.

🔔 Webinar 🔔 Last year, the World Health Assembly resolved unanimously to accelerate national and global efforts to prevent micronutrient deficiencies through food fortification, but national and regional advocacy is needed to ensure that the resolution is implemented. This year brings another opportunity to push for accelerated progress to make fortified foods available to all. A diverse coalition of #fortification champions, committed to support and push duty bearers simultaneously, can affect significant change if their advocacy is persistent. Next week, join us for a discussion about the experience of advocacy coalitions in Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uganda and Ethiopia In this #webinar, we will learn from the experience of advocacy coalitions in Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uganda and Ethiopia.
