CareSTL Health is honored to announce a new partnership with Dana Brown Charitable Trust as a first-time grantee. We are pleased to have the organization support our school-based services in the Jennings School District. THE DANA BROWN CHARITABLE TRUST provides grants to organizations that support the health, education, and welfare of financially disadvantaged children. Our School-Based Health Centers provide healthcare to students attending local school districts, achieving the objective of providing students with much-needed access to care. Our program advances our mission of providing underserved communities with access to quality healthcare. It allows highly qualified medical professionals to address the broad range of concerns that affect students’ healthy development. This beneficial collaboration enables students to thrive in the classroom. We are thrilled by the Dana Brown Charitable Trust’s generosity!

Just a friendly reminder: The 5th annual CareSTL Health Project O: Opioid Awareness Walk/Run is only a month away! We are excited to welcome participants and their furry friends for the walk/run event. Don't forget, all participants with their dogs will have a chance to win a Doggie Birthday Party from BarK Dog Bar! The party package includes a complimentary 3-hour rental of one of their private event spaces, free entry for up to 10 dogs, a large bone-shaped doggie birthday cake, and more. Their dedication and innovation are driving transformative changes in our communities. 💪🏾 Meet Angela Clabon! Angela Clabon, CEO of CareSTL Health, has dedicated over 40 years to healthcare, rising from a Registration Clerk to CEO. She passionately advocates for health equity in North St. Louis and holds advanced degrees in Business Administration and Urban Planning. Angela is actively involved in numerous organizations, championing health justice and community wellness. Meet Tokiwa Smith! Tokiwa Smith, founder of SEM Link, has been a driving force in STEM education since 2005. Inspired by her own journey as a young Black girl excelling in math and science, Tokiwa's organization connects youth with diverse STEM professionals and engaging activities. With a degree in Chemical Engineering, she aims to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. Meet Dr. Na’Taki Osborne Jelks! Dr. Jelks is a nationally recognized leader in the grassroots environmental justice movement. Growing up near “Cancer Alley,” she has dedicated her life to empowering communities facing environmental injustices and educating the next generation as a professor at Spelman College. 📆 Registration for #Give828 opened on Juneteenth. Happy Black Family Month from CareSTL Health! Join us at our 2024 Back to School Health Fair to celebrate. This neighborhood block party is all about celebrating the summer, getting families ready for the new school year, and building relationships to improve family health! Come and join us for an indoor/outdoor fair, featuring a Live DJ, family entertainment, food, refreshments, school supplies, and book bags (while supplies last), informational booths hosted by social and community organizations, wellness screenings, and immunizations! We look forward to seeing you on July 27 at our MLK location from 10 am to 2 pm!

Happy #FabFriday! This week, CareSTL Health is highlighting the Nursing Case Management and Education teams for engaging in professional development through The Breakfast Club Inc.! These women recently attended a seminar focused on breast health. They participated in sessions that prioritized providing services to the recently incarcerated and received the latest information on breast health, breast cancer, and breast cancer treatment. Let's applaud their efforts to provide the best care to our patients and community!
