We are getting in the Olympic spirit for our 2024 Wellness Challenge! Throughout the month of July we are encouraging our employees to track their physical activity as we collectively carry the torch from Greece to Paris. Each participant can view a map tracking progress as anything they do is converted into steps. They'll also have a chance to win virtual medals for averaging 6000, 8000, and 10,000 steps per day in addition to some great prizes! We are looking forward to seeing the torch move and watching our teams get active throughout the month!

June is #NationalSafetyMonth and we are continuing to highlight the great work of the CSC Safety Team! We have two programs focused on safety we are proud to offer to everyone at CSC. CanACT is a process to interact and connect with employees through observation, positive reinforcement, and coaching. Good Catch is a proactive report of an unsafe condition or unsafe act before it becomes something worse. Each month our safety team reviews the reports submitted and selects the "most impactful" entering the person who submitted into a drawing for special recognition gifts.

“A new sportsbook adjacent to Wrigley Field showcases steel’s ability to integrate into an existing structure.” - And CSC is proud to have been a part of it! The completed three-story structure has a compact 9,400 sq. ft. footprint with 279 tons of structural steel which houses the 100-year-old ballpark and adds plenty of new amenities for fans. CSC provided 16,800 square feet of 2” composite deck for the construction. This project is a grand slam! Read more about it at the link below.

Grant Heinrich, Sales Director for the West, will be participating in the upcoming panel discussion "Construction Conditions" for the American Society of Professional Estimators. The #ASPE is a national organization for construction estimators, and they consider this event the biggest event of the year in Arizona. The panel will be held in West Phoenix and will include a number of knowledgeable people from around the state speaking on the challenges currently being faced in the industry. In his role as Sales Director, Grant has firsthand knowledge of these challenges. This knowledge combined with his ability to professionally communicate and build relationships with different companies across the US makes him a terrific participant for this panel and a great representative for CSC. CSC is so grateful for wonderful industry partners like Steel Joist Institute. Thank you for your consistent support and your work towards elevating and connecting the industry.
We wouldn’t be where we are today without our member companies, so we’re launching a Member Mondays series to highlight all of our members. Today, we’re recognizing Canam Steel Corporation (CSC). Founded in 1973, CSC has been a part of SJI for almost 50 years. CSC is equipped with the capabilities to take on any project, from stadiums to schools to high-rise buildings. Regardless of industry or project size, its four steel joist manufacturing facilities across the country are able to serve customers in all 50 states. “We’re so glad to be a part of SJI and the work that it does for our industry,” says Tim Holtermann, vice president of engineering and drafting.
