The prestigious ceremony commemorating the outstanding achievements of the top African athletes for the year 2023 was held during the African SAMBO Championships.

The prestigious ceremony commemorating the outstanding achievements of the top African athletes for the year 2023 was held during the African SAMBO Championships.
The African SAMBO Championships was held from 1-3 June in Cairo, Egypt. Teams from 19 countries of the continent took part in the competition. Medals were awarded in competitions in Sport, Combat and Beach SAMBO.
The Congress of the African Sambo Confederation, dedicated to discussing current issues of SAMBO development on the continent, took place on 31 May in the capital of Egypt – Cairo. The event, held on the eve of the start of the African Championships, was attended by representatives of 20 African countries.
In Serbia, within the framework of the European Championship and the European Championships, the report-election conference of the European Sambo Federation was held on 9 May.
Individual athletes from Russia (FIAS 1) won a total of 23 medals at the 2024 SAMBO European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, on 9-10 May, topping the medal table with 13 gold medals. Only 3 Russian athletes went home without a medal.
The legendary sambist, multiple World Combat SAMBO Champion, Ambassador of SAMBO and FIAS in the world Fedor Emelianenko will visit the main continental SAMBO tournament, which will be held in Serbia.
The Moroccan Cadets, Youth and Junior Sambo Championship took place on 21 April in Casablanca. Representatives of several clubs from different regions of the country took part in the tournament, which was held at the Ain Chock sports complex.
A meeting was held at the International Sambo Centre between the President of the Sambo Federation of Australia Savely Timofeev and the Chairman of the FIAS Commission for Athletes with Disabilities Roman Novikov.
The SAMBO tournament took place in the commune of Milyanto (which is translated from the language of the Mapuche people as “Golden Sun”) in the Bio-Bio region of Chile. Competitions were held in Sport and Combat SAMBO among both men and women.
The third national Sambo Championships of Honduras, named after Jovany Varela, were held on 6 April in the Olympic village in Tegucigalpa. Competitions for men and women took place in sport and combat sambo. It was the largest national championship in the history Honduran Sambo with 122 athletes from four cities taking part.
The city of Cochabamba was the venue for the Bolivian Junior Sambo Championship. The competition, which took place on 13 April, brought together representatives from five of the country's departments and was a qualifier for teams to take part in international competitions.
The Venezuelan athlete Elder Moreno has written his name in the history of the development of the "Blind SAMBO" discipline. In 2023, he won a gold medal at the World Combat Games, held in Saudi Arabia, where this discipline was included for the first time.
A beach in the province of San Cristobal was the venue for a Beach SAMBO tournament in the Dominican Republic. 10 teams took part in the team competition, representing different regions of the country.
Yerevan, Armenia was once again the centre of SAMBO as the 2024 World Championships took place at the "Gazprom Arena". Following the success of the 2023 World Championships, the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS) has once again awarded Yerevan with a high-level tournament.
The Venezuelan National SAMBO Championships were held in the state of Aragua from 21-24 March. More than 150 athletes from 15 states of the country participated in the tournament. Both men's and women's competitions were held, in both Sport and Combat SAMBO.
