The African SAMBO Championships was held from 1-3 June in Cairo, Egypt. Teams from 19 countries of the continent took part in the competition. Medals were awarded in competitions in Sport, Combat and Beach SAMBO.
The host country won the medal table with 11 gold medals.Maroc was second with eight gold medals, Cameroon was in top 3 with six gold medals.
The two most famous African sambists Seidou Njimouluh and Maxwell Djantou from Cameroon won gold medals in the men’s Combat SAMBO. Two time world champion Njimouluh won the -98 kg category, 2021 world champion and reigning runner-up Djantou was the best in +98 kg category.
