I am gladly surprised to find this book to be much better than the first installment. Just like the first one, it is an easy and entertaining read, however this time I found the story and characters much more engaging. I recommend the audiobook, it goes by fast.
I am moving on to the last installment.
P.S.:I do think that had I read these series of books without knowing anything at all about what was going on because of the TV series, I would likely have giving it a higher rating. After all, knowing all the spoilers always takes away most of the excitement for me, and these books are based on the not knowing.

It's fine, although I wound't say it was exciting enough or emotionally engaging for me. I saw the Wayward Pines TV series a few years back and I remember really enjoying it, specially the second season. I was very disappointed when the show was cancelled, and that is what brought me back to the books.
This is not my typical reading genre and experience has shown me that I tend to have a hard time connecting with male writers' work, so I was worried I wound't care and so that I would DNF it. As expected, I didn't care much for it, I had a hard time connecting to the male protagonist, and I already knew what was going on with the plot because of the TV Series, so no mystery for me there. However, I was able to get to the end effortlessly since it was an easy and fast read. Overall, I think is a cool concept and I liked the idea, kind of like Planet of the Apes/The Truman Show/1984 reimagined. By the end though, there are way too many holes that makes the idea of that society working very hard to believe.
I'll move on to the second book.

The only reason I read this book is because of how much I enjoy The 100 TV series. But this book is nothing like that. The reasons behind the characters actions and choices are much more powerful in the show, and it makes you think. The characters in the book are driven mostly by silly and superficial things, too infantile for my taste. This is one of the rare cases where the TV adaptation is way better than the books, just like the Divergent (2014) movie is miles better than the book. So, if you haven't watch the show, what are you waiting for? The first season, specially the first few episodes, aren't that great, but afterwards is well worth it, every season gets more and more AMAZING. I love how it makes me question everything that happens and how the characters evolve and change. It is an incredible show at heart.

I won't be reading the rest of the installments, I had more than enough with this one. My recommendation is watch the TV series and forget this book, you have 7 seasons waiting for you, so go!...more

Nop. I can’t say I liked this book. There was no romance here, just sex. I have nothing against the sex part, however, personally, I am also looking for emotional connections in the mix. The main characters say they love each other, but I don't know why so I don't feel it as truth. Love and lust are not the same thing, I see lust here, I don't see love. In order to believe that there is love amongs them, the story needs more than what we got, it needs more development. As it is, the sentiments feel shallow, and fake, and as such, the story didn't reach me. Added to that, the back story wasn’t done well, so it was more a bother than anything else....more

The premise is very interesting and so is what it is going on, just not all the time. There were many instances where my brain just went somewhere else because it stop caring. Mark is a cool guy, I liked his humor and way of thinking. There are pretty funny moments here because Mark is hilarious, I Just love that guy! He had me laughing out loud because of his remarks.
The problem here is that this book is Funny and Boring, Interesting and Uninteresting, all at the same time.
