I liked the book, but I have a few issues with it.
This book was way softer and lighter in comparison with the others. I personally would have liked more kink in it :P
The idea of a completely anonymous threesome with blindfold and all is extremely appealing and hot, but I think it could have been told with more excitement and in more depth.
This book felt rushed, everything happened very quickly. For the love between Nathan and Julie to be more believable to me, they needed to have had more interactions, a bit more of some kind of relationship throughout the book. It felt more like instant-lust-love in my opinion since they weren't even friends, they were just acquaintances, almost strangers; and after only a couple of sex encounters and one date they suddenly loved each other. It was hard for me to believe. It was also hard to understand why Nathan stayed away from Julie when he wanted her so much and she kept pursuing him. Again, another not too believable element.
All that is why despite the fact that I did enjoy the book, I do believe that serious substance is missing here. It is missing more relationship, more elaboration, more conversations and more meaningfulness....more
“Tell me, Serena. Do you want me?” he asked softly. “Do you ache for me? Do you want my “[…] all I ever want you to be is mine.”
Yes, I read it again.
“Tell me, Serena. Do you want me?” he asked softly. “Do you ache for me? Do you want my possession? Do you lie awake at night wanting a man strong enough to harness your sexuality, stroke it until the fire rages and then unleash it, set you free?”
I found very well put their BDSM relationship. The way it was defined, how nicely it was transmitted, how much they wanted to please each other, the transparency of their feelings; it all explained very well what that kind of relationship is really about. It was beautifully done.
“I’ll never ask for something you can’t give, Serena mine. I only want what you freely offer. I only want you. With me, belonging to me. Me protecting you, cherishing you, honoring you with my every breath, with my body, my soul and my heart.”
I appreciated very much that Damon wasn’t into titles like “Sir” or “Master”, instead he preferred to be addressed by his name. I never liked the titles part of the BDSM relationships, it seems too fake and ridiculous to me:
“What do I call you?” she asked softly […] “You’ll call me Damon. I see no need for dramatic titles. I, on the other hand, will call you beautiful . . . lover . . . mine. I’ll call you mine.
I would have liked more development in their story, it seemed too short and quick for me. I needed more time, more of their relationship and interactions. Also, the ending was a bit too brusque for me. Then it was the double punishment, I understand the why of it and I don’t have a problem with it, I just personally never enjoy reading about punishment in BDSM books. I think it might be a pride issue...
“I want your obedience. I expect it—no, I demand it. I don’t relish nor will I enjoy the idea of punishing you. So if you seek to bait me so that you enjoy the thrill of discipline, you’re sure to be disappointed.”
Damon: Well, I am in love, what else can I say, he really is perfect. LOOOOVED HIM! <3
“You don’t trust me yet, and you shouldn’t as we’ve only just met. But you will come to trust me, and when that happens, you’ll give yourself into my care and keeping. When you do that, I will give you what you most want. What you need. And I’m going to love every damn minute.”
I envy the girls friendship, their loyalty and devotion to each other. It really is special to have that kind of support and constancy. It is fantastic to know that when you screw up, everything in your life is a mess, and you are completely lost; you can count on those special people that show you that you are not alone. That’s what the girls are to each other in this book (and in others of this series, just like the boys are too). To me, these friendships are a very good component that this series have, an essential ingredient really.
"I won't allow you to degrade yourself for voicing your desires. They're yours. That makes them important. Valid."
I my opinion, the combination of book 2 and book 4 of the Sweet series are a great insight to the BDSM lifestyle. In a way, this series remains me to the Masters of the Shadowlands series by Cherise Sinclair, except that the Sweets series are not that heavy on the BDSM stuff and have a more romantic air, more sweetness.

PROS: - I find the love story very appealing and sweet.
- There are some BDSM sex scenes that are amazingly hot, I loved them. I actually thing that those kinky sex scenes are the main reason I keep rereading Sweet Temptation. Let me explain, it is not just for the sex, but also because how that sexual relationship is transmitted through the book. It could have come across as porn, but it doesn't; it’s about their sexual needs, about who they are. I found it beautiful.
“How do you know what I want? You've never asked.”
- The group of friends on these books is really incredible, the camaraderie, friendship and loyalty between all of them is truly enviable and it gives this series an underlying felling of love, family and safety. It wouldn’t be the same without them and I appreciate immensely that they are always present in each book.
CONS: - I would have liked more insight into Micah’s mind, and I really disliked the part where he went all drama-queen talking about rape after having sex with Angelina, I get the self-loathing but the rest was completely unnecessary in my opinion.
“Guilt is bullshit. I don't want it. Don't need it.”
- The subplot was cliche and predictable. It would have been nice something more original and unexpected.
Audiobook: I enjoyed the audiobook. I think that the narrator (Caroline Wintour) did a great job transmitting the emotions of each character. The first time I read the book I actually READ it, the rest of the times I listened to the audiobook. If I come back to this book I will listen to the audiobook again, but I do believe that it can be better enjoyed if it is read instead of listen (at least for the first time).
“I love you Micah. You may not want it. You may not need it. But you'll always have it. It doesn't come with any strings or expectations. It's given freely.”
I would recommend reading this series from the beginning. Micah’s personality can be better understood that way, as well as his friends’ behavior. I am confused right now as why I didn't give these books more stars back when I read them first, I absolutely enjoy this series.
“I never want you to know another day without my love, Angel girl.”
P.S.: If you don’t enjoy reading about BDSM relationships I wouldn't recommend this book. There is “pain” and shared sex in it, so be warned. Books 1 and 3 are lighter.
“You make me want. You make me want things I've never wanted.”

There is nothing special in it, it's pretty basic, with a well known structure, a typical plot line, plenty to criticized about the characters, yada, yada, yada. And yet, I find myself coming back to it and rereading it!! Why? Why? I have read it at least 3 times already! What’s wrong with me? I swear I have more bad things to say about it than good things but for some reason it beckons me! It kills me to admit it, but I find Sam Cooper (hello stamina) and the sex scenes hot…argh!! I keep analyzing the book in my mind and I find it so poor, of such a low literary quality that I am baffled at myself for liking it! I am so frustrated, damn it! And the worst part is that I know that a part of me might be tempted to come back to it sometime in the future and skim it again! I'm the worst!
P.S.: I reread it again, and again. 6 times now. I hate that I love it so much....more

This is one of my favorite UF series, ever. Admittedly, the first book is the weakest of them all, while book 4 is my favorite. The plot, characters and romance get better and better with each installment. The love story has an incredible arc and it is absolutely beautiful. You'll need to go all the way to book 6 to find out how it ends, and it is utterly worth it.
Georgina Kincaid is a great strong female character with all her faults. Her insecurities and weaknesses make her a better character, she is not perfect, but she is good. She is flawed and that makes her more real. Seth, although completely outside of the guys I would normally found attractive, is also great; sweet and kind, he is a character that grows in each book, he is loyal, authentic and loves with his all being. He is mundane and so real that he is the perfect juxtaposition to Georgina.
These books are full of adventure and fun characters, but to me, what really makes them so special is that the love story here is not just your typical romance. What we have here is a TRUE LOVE kind of EPIC love story to the likes of The Princess Bride.
This is the kind story that stays with you, no matter how many books you read or how many years have passed since you first read it , you don’t forget this one.
I completely recommend this series. READ IT!

My favorite book within this series is Blood Promise (Book 4), which is one of my favorite books of all time. However, the book that truly made me a hardcore fan of the Vampire Academy was Shadow Kiss (Book 3), the final part enthralled me and trapped my heart.
I do have some issues with Spirit Bound (Book 5) regarding Rose's relationship with Adrian, her thoughts and actions regarding him and Dimitri. It bothered me, and I don't really see how it was that relevant to the story. The way the relationship unfolded made little sense to me, specially because of the small time-lapse everything happened in. If we had had a much longer time interval, her feelings and thoughts would have made more sense to me.
The audiobook narrator is very good. My first time with these books was by paperbacks, after that, all my rereads have been by audiobooks.
I highly recommend this series, both to YA and adults, females and males. It is just great.
P.S.: The movie is appallingly TERRIBLE and does an atrocious disservice to these books. It should be staked in the heart! [image]...more

I love this book every time, I can't put itRe-reading it (yes again, this makes it my 5th time) for the Buddy read with the MacHalosOctober 16, 2015.
I love this book every time, I can't put it down! It goes by incredibly fast, you have finished it before you realize it.
The book traps you from the very beginning. It has the perfect amount of action, romance, world-building and side characters.
The idea of this world, the idea of good vs. evil both in humans and demons, all surrounding the Underground General Hospital, it's pretty interesting and entertaining.
I liked the development of the romance. The moments and conversations that Tayla and Eidolon shared where meaningful every time. Tayla grew, healed, trusted and loved with Eidolon's help. His self-assurance, kindness, patience and understanding lead her to shatter her barriers. In the end, she opened her eyes and stopped being the innocent, traumatized, seeking to belong, scared and prejudiced girl that she was and became her own person, her own woman, her own demon.
All the characters are well developed. I really like ALL the side characters in this book. The three seminus demon brothers are intriguing, attractive and seducing. There is left no doubt that you are going to want to know more about them and keep reading the series. Gem's story gets better and better in each book, and by the 3rd one she has had a great love story all around. Since I am an animal lover, I enjoyed that Eidolon and Tayla had their own furry pets, it was refreshing to have a dog and a weasel versus the typical cat (I don't have anything against cats, I just think it is a nice change; I am a dog person after all, and this kind of books tend to give preference to cats).
Audiobook: I cannot say the narrator is bad because she is not. Cassandra Campbell does a good job with this. However, I can't say I liked her, personally speaking I am more inclined towards a more lively, happy and energetic voice. She sounds a bit glum for my taste. I needed more vitality in Tayla. Her voice for Eidonon is cool though.
P.S.: I love, love this series! This is one of my favorite Paranormal Romance Series of all time. Larissa Ione's Lords of Deliverance Series are great too!
